For those who call themselves atheists and don't believe that God exists, this true life story which is indeed a miracle that stunned the world will definitely change your mind.

It's the true life story of Anthony Haynes, a teenager and convicted murderer who was condemned to death in Texas for the murder of a police officer named Kent.
It was a bright morning in the city of Texas when a police officer pulled over a car after an object smashed his windscreen, Anthony Haynes, a criminal and a thief was behind the wheel.

As the officer knocked on the window of the car, he told Anthony that he was a policeman, then he reached to his back pocket to bring out his badge. Anthony Haynes, being a criminal thought the officer was reaching out for his gun fired a his own gun and the bullet hit the policeman in his left eye. He died on the spot.

Anyway, Anthony was arrested, after a lengthy trial period he was sentenced to death for murder making him the youngest person on death row in the United States at the time. His lawyer filed an appeal at the appeal court, his appeal was rejected.

His lawyer refused to give up, she filed another appeal with the governor of Texas pleading for clemency as the execution date was fast approaching.

48 hours to the execution date, the governor of Texas rejected his appeal. Anthony Haynes was already a born again Christian in prison and he had already given his life to Jesus Christ. He was already studying his Bible and praying for God to give him another opportunity because the dead cannot serve Him.

His lawyer filed a last minute appeal at the US Supreme Court in a desperate effort to save his life. Anthony Haynes was given one last interview with BBC just 24 hours before his execution. What he said at the interview shocked everyone. He told BBC that while he was praying last night, God spoke to him and told him that he will not die that day.

This was a person whose execution bed had been arranged alongside the lethal injection that would be used in his execution. Nobody believed him. He insisted that he would not be killed by lethal injection that day because God had spoken to him in prison loud and clear, the journalist thought he was crazy.

The night before he was due to be executed, his lawyer and his family members stormed the church and held a vigil for him begging God to spare his life. On the day he was to be executed, few minutes to his execution, he was already wearing white gown (which is the uniform inmates wear before execution) a miracle happened.

The US Supreme Court, in a very rare move granted Anthony a stay of execution automatically saving his life.

His story made global headlines and BBC even made a full documentary about it because it was nothing short of a miracle. Everyone celebrated the Supreme Court judgment.

So for those who still think there's no God, how do you explain it? This is clearly a case where a born again soul cried out to his father and his father answered. I pray you have a change of heart before it's too late.

Happy Sunday

Yes it was god's will for a criminal to go free but the police officer doing his job had to die even thought he might have had a wife and family at home.

Do you even think before asking these questions?

Great story.

Now give us the statistics of those that were on deathrow and were prayed for in a vigil by their church and family members but still ended up getting lethally injected anyway. Until u do that, we can't take this story seriously.

While you are at it, also provide statistics on the number of proselytized convicts on deathrow that believed God will save them from lethal inject through prayers but still ended up dying by same method.

Why u think this story is a proof of the efficacy of the deity u believe in is what I cannot really understand. I thought u guys believed that this world is corrupt and not ur home and can't wait to go see Jesus? So if someone with a violent history like that is truly converted, shouldn't he be eager to see Jesus? Unless he isn't really sure of his beliefs and Christians just have deep-seething fear of death like everyone else.

So u guys denied him a chance to go meet Jesus and now he is out on the street probably humping pussies he has missed all this while and involved in other hidden vices. U guys have likely doomed him with ur prayers. LMAO. And u think this is a testimony?

Chai!!! Christians mumu sha.

This reminds me of a post titled The Will of God by Anpaf.

I reasoned since nothing happens without God approving of it, it is only rational to think that the car started rolling on the approval God hence, it should be allowed to role since we all encourage the will of God to trump every other will.

After my investigation, I came to realize that human always look for an excuse for their incapacitations, instead of growing the courage to admit s/he has his/her hands tied, s/he would attribute it to the will of god.

During my investigation, I realized nobody really give a hoot about the will of God. We are only shy to accept our limitations.

I am really confused about this part of the OP.
How does this story of a criminal escaping justice for killing an innocent policeman who was only doing his duty convince an atheist that a god or any god exists?
On the contrary this story is more likely to make the atheist doubt the existence of any god because of the stark injustice in the story:-The criminal gets away while the innocent man dies.
HOW IS THAT JUST? WHAT KIND OF A GOD DISPENSES THAT KIND OF JUSTICE? undecided

Convicted cop killer Anthony Haynes turned down by Supreme Court
Keri Blakinger | on January 14, 2019
_______________________________________________
Anthony Haynes, 33, was granted a stay of execution on Thursday, Oct. 18. 2012, for killing an off-duty Houston police sergeant.

A death row inmate convicted of killing a Houston police officer nearly two decades ago could be one step closer to an execution date after the Supreme Court turned down his latest appeal.

Anthony Haynes narrowly avoided the death chamber seven years ago with a last-minute stay over claims his case was tainted by bad lawyering. Again, concerns about ineffective attorneys landed him in front of the Supreme Court last year - but this time the justices didn't lean in his favor.

The high court without comment rejected the 39-year-old's appeal on Monday. He's now eligible for an execution date.

Defense attorney Richard Ellis said he was "very disappointed" with the court's decision, pointing out that the lower court was split on whether to deny his client's appeal last year, and that one judge penned a "vigorous dissent" showing how the case "never had the review that the Supreme Court itself requested."

The Harris County man was 19 and on meth in May 1998 when he and two friends started driving around town in his father's pick-up, sticking up some pedestrians and making off with their wallets, according to court records.

Later in the night, the group drove by off-duty Houston police Sgt. Kent Kincaid and his wife, who were on their way to a sports bar. Something cracked the couple's windshield - and Kincaid realized it was a bullet.

Out of uniform, Kincaid pulled over and climbed out to approach Haynes, asking to see his drivers' license, according to court records.

"You hit my window," Kincaid told him. Haynes responded that he "accidentally threw something" at the window. The officer reached back to get his police ID - but Haynes opened fire, hitting Kincaid in the head then fleeing, according to court records. He was arrested afterward when police traced the truck back to his father.

Haynes later confessed to the slaying, but said that he didn't know Kincaid was a police officer - a key element in making the killing into a capital crime.

Nonetheless, he was sentenced to death and nearly executed in 2012. Two hours before he was to die, the Supreme Court granted a stay over claims of ineffective attorneys earlier in the case.

His appeals team argued that better lawyers earlier on could have shown that he wasn't likely to be a future danger and could have lived the rest of his life in prison without posing a threat.

For the past seven years, his appeals have continued winding through the courts, finally ending up back in front of the Supreme Court in the fall, again over claims of bad lawyering.

This time, Ellis argued that the court had never really examined the underlying facts since the last execution date, and he brought up the nearly 40 witnesses who would have been willing to testify on his behalf had the trial team not been so "massively" deficient.

The state responded with a filing asking the Supreme Court not to greenlight the appeal, calling the claims "procedurally unsound and meritless."

Currently, Ellis said, Haynes does not have any pending appeals.

Would it be too hard for god to let them sin and ask for his forgiveness afterward? (after all, you guys say we all sin everyday but he forgives) or does he just love them being killed? or send arm robbers to them?
As omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent you call him, why did he allow the little kids that at that time had no sins be killed, too? What is the essence of bringing them to this world in the first place knowing full well that he wasn't going to show them mercy and they all needed to be slaughtered like Christmas chickens?
