Some people don't know that there is a big difference between strength and endurance
Beorn:

What you described is a commendable feat but nothing superhuman. It's not different from different humans that have been seen to lift bags of cement with their teeth or drag a huge car with their teeth.

We're talking about Aquaman that was shot at, stabbed and even got hit at point-blank range by a rocket launcher and survives. Abeg, Aquaman will pulverize him without relative ease.

Nope, not every movie series stand a chance to be nominated, let alone win awards.
A Movie has to be top notch for reviewers to even consider it. Global movie analysts make recommendations.
Movies like " Tyrant"., " Designated Survivor" and " The Blindspot", have great plots and intrigues but they have not even been considered.

What the fuck_? Great plots/intrigues and Blindspot/Designated Survivor in the same sentence?

Go and watch Where the waters revolt

Not a fan of romantic movies but this one got me like shocked

Can someone please drop a movie recommendation?

I'm currently watching 'When Sally met Harry'. It's a bit slow, but maybe because the movie is very realistic. Most times real life is not particularly interesting, you know. Forget all these zee world and telemundo nonsense.

Is that all you can say in defence of the movie?

Imagine if I said that Black Panther was a dumb movie? Wouldn't you have blasted me into another dimension?

Wow, you group The Blind spot,, Designated Survivor and Tyrant and classify them all as thrash?
Blindspot that is almost patterned like 24 is thrash?
Quite interesting.
Pls do u mind giving me a list of series that "your opinion" that is worthy to be deemed good..
Am very curious.

And pls dont include GOT on the list.

HBO, Showtime, FX, BBC one and two, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Cinemax (HBO owned), FX, AMC, Starz, and Netflix have completely monopolized my choices in TV series. Any shows that ain't from any of the aforementioned, I would pay no mind to. I see them (PG13 TV shows) as trash for the most part, and rightly so. Their dialogue and scene apart from being tamed, rely more on shock and awe factors to draw the audience. To 'em, good ratings are more important than a good story.

However, Cable channels like HBO, Showtime, AMC, and streaming service, Netflix go for slow burners (my favorite kind of shows). Slow burners just like the name implies don't care for the melodrama, rather, it's more for realism than anything else. Slow burners usually start off slow-paced, and gradually settle into a rhythm, the rich plot draws one in, the fantastic story telling keeps one invested, the complexity invigorating. Their dynamism and depth set them apart and place them on such high pedestal that run-of-the-mill TV shows cannot hope to compete. Their educative value is 2nd to none as well.

Slow burners like Breaking Bad, True Detective, Fargo, Better Call Saul, Boardwalk Empire, Peaky Blinders, Line of Duty, etc, are the pinnacle of television. The best of the best. Anyone that doesn't like them is on a long thing.

How?

The shape of water is typical Oscar bait.

What is special about the movie? The predictable plot? The bestiality (woman and fish)? The one dimensional bad guy?

Nothing is exceptional in that movie. The only thing going for it is the classic feel of the movie.

But your beloved Black Panther has a predictable plot and a one dimensional bad guy, yet you can't wait to regale us with how it deserves all its hype and Oscar win. undecided

Whatever. Aquaman is relatively the weakest in the JL.

A glaring way of you agreeing because you know you have no other point to trump the truth. Face it, if The Mountain gets hit with a rocket launcher, he'd be dead but Aquaman survived it. There's no comparison between them.

Are you mad?

Killmonger is one of the most sympathetic villains in comic book movies.

You should be ashamed as a black african that you cannot understand the deep motivations of killmonger in the BP movie.

Killmonger grew up on hate as it was stated I the movie. He grew up as an abandoned black kid in the ghetto with no parents. His African tribe neglected him while his American roots consisted of racism and poverty.

He fought wars for a country that did not respect his humanity and his race.

Killmonger even delivered one Of the most iconic lines in comic book history-

"Just bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped from ships, 'cause they knew death was better than bondage"

A lot of Nigerians do not understand anything about racism. Shame.

Oga, all these one na epistle. Nothing about Killmonger's upbringing that's special. What's so deep about his motivations that we haven't seen before? Abeg, BP had a simple Nollywood-esque plot and no matter of iconic lines makes Killmonger special. He's a one-dimensional villain.

JeromeBlack, you'd go dig up my post on BP when I first rated it. I am very pleased about the making of the movie. I recognized its significance to the black race, it's cultural significance to the blacks.

But I won't come here to act like it had a fantastic plot that blew me away just because I'm black. That BS.

MATILDA (1996)...8/10
GENRE:Comedy, Family, Fantasy

Wow!! the concept/premise of the movie & Matilda's dad popular catchphrase( I'm smart your dumb, I'm big your little, I'm right your wrong and there's nothing you can do about it) Kinda gave me that nostalgic feeling i use to have as a kid way back then, when the movie aired on Sundays on channels TV. The story and message, was quite fabulous, the acting was very good. It was truly a fun, entertaining & nostalgic ride for me.

Shake my head in utter disbelief...

Batman is the tactical leader.

Superman is the overall boss.

More like Barcelona manager and Lionel Messi.

Can you guys let the argument rest now?

Batman is the Leader of the Justice League.

Batman has also been the leader of The Outsiders.

Brains comes before brawns, even the Justice League acknowledged this.

Classic strawman. I never said that the plot of black panther is fantastic.

The beauty of black panther's plot lies in its simplicity and effectiveness.

He is an influential figure but not the leader of the JL.

Supes is a quiet and humble guy, that is why he doesn't behave like a leader.

In one of the JL animation where bats contingency plan against a rogue JL was used against them, it was up to Superman to decide wether Batman stays or leaves.

Wonder Woman is second in command btw.

No Batman was clearly the leader here, that's why he had a contingency plan for all the JL members, he was no longer trusted, that's why there was a vote if he should stay or leave.
Even Superman voted for Batman to be the leader of The JL.
