erico2k2:No wonder! The ones I saw in US are mostly 6plugs 2012 models upwards...Like how much is good for a 2006 320i from Europe? Thanks alot for your timely replies... |
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by erico2k2(m): 6:44pm On Apr 22, 2019 |
Damolux01:Fuel is cheap in the US hence they have massive Engines, but not in Europe. Costwise I can't really tell. You can use eBay or Auto trader to search in the EU. |

thefarr: Me too. I normally do some minor repairs on my E46 all by myself. I recently changed the rear shocks all by myself. It took me less than 30 minutes. 2 Likes |

dollypi: I suspect your airbag clockspring is damaged. It's usually located under the steering wheel. A scan tool can confirm that to you. |
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by chyka2011: 3:33pm On Apr 28, 2019 |
ayosamlove: If you need to drive a BMW, you need to research a lot about the ride. Especially peculiarities about your particular model. Check if there are leaks. Check if the cooling fan is working. Check if there is water in the oil through the oil dipstick. If all these are in the negative, then I will suggest you bleed the cooling system. If air is trapped in the cooling system, it can cause the car to overheat. All the best on your new ride. 1 Like |

Anyone know how much the steering rack/pump is for e46 325xi. Was checking a sexy e46 car at a dealer's yesterday and the steering was hard af. They were saying its normal but since I'm not a mumu, i felt it was most likely a steering pump/rack issue, so i abandoned the car. I'm just curious to know the price of that equipment for the 325XI |
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by alphaNomega: 9:12am On May 02, 2019 |
deathwing: You're better than me. My first time driving an e46 was with one that had a bad PS pump, the former owner told me that's how the steering feels and convinced me it was normal. Anyway a power steering rack would cost 18 - 20k, your power steering pump should be circa 15k. You have to inspect the hoses and reservoir for leaks and possible replacement too. Power steering fluid spec is Dexron III or Dex/Merc 1 Like |

Hahaha. We learn everyday. I too learned the hard way. Mehn this car cheap die to maintain. Can't wait to get a good one. I don't want to repair PS after i buy car. Thanks! alphaNomega: |
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by deathwing(m): 8:27pm On May 03, 2019 |
Now I'm considering it now tho. It has black custom smoked headlights(sample headlight pictured) and an M3 rim. According to Ebay and Alibaba, those lights cost about $300. ANd the rims about $600. Wetin you think? If you are sure about the PS price, it ain't that expensive to fix then. Asides the PS and maybe the tarnished leather, the car is alright. Though i noticed the coolant was low, so I don't know whether it's because of an issue with the reservoir tank or if it somehow dried up. How much is original blue coolant and/or the tank? Plus how much is the Dexron III. I'm seeing 10k on Jumia. alphaNomega: 1 Share

Re: BMW Owners' Forum by alphaNomega: 9:35pm On May 03, 2019 |
deathwing: Low coolant is suggestive of a leak and potential engine overheat if you are not careful. I'll advise you go to the BMW spare parts area in Ladipo and make enquires for the current price of the car parts. I don't have a particular shop to refer you to. Don't be carried away by the M3 rim and smoked headlight. They will not help your power steering or leaking coolant in any way 1 Like |
