IMO this feminist talk is getting stale, I personally don't see an agenda... Reasons is because: 1. In season 1 when Ned was made the "Hand" he submitted power not to the son Robb but to his wife Catlyn as the Lady of winterfell.....(at that point there was no feminist agenda abi? ) 2. Dany was actually loyal to her brother's claim of the seven kingdom until she found out the brother was weak and 'mad' (maybe she was still naive at that time); she also believed Khal drogo will conquer the seven kingdoms (until he became a vegetable) 3. Cercie became the queen to the seven kingdom not because there was a feminist agenda... Her incest sons died on the throne, her husband died on the throne and trust me if tywinn had been alive she won't smell that throne. 4. Lady sansa?? Well she became the lady of winterfell because Bran isn't Bran anymore and Jon bent the knee.... In summary, let just enjoy the show for what it is... Men and Women have been ruling big countries, organizations for centuries and will do even in future...the Queen of England though it is a ceremonial post has been on the throne for decades, Theresa May rules the Uk and she's a Woman.. There are other Women leaders that have ruled big countries/ organizations and some are still ruling. These Doesn't make them feminists. 6 Likes |

Afrosage: warstarter indeed. Seriously, Arya is one badass bitch. She showed Robert bastard and he was shocked and impressed,,,,. " I know death, he has many faces, I'm looking forward to seeing this one ". And the face she gave him when she said, my weapon, was like,,,, my weapon soon or I will show your mumu face the death I know. |

Blockdock90: I know about the deviations from the book, but Ned was also killed in the book, same with Robb. But was Jaime incapacitated in the book? Was Theon's c*ck cut in the books? Didn't Jorah continue to act as a subordinate to Dany? Was Dany not powerful and arrogant in the books? Did Cersei became a Queen in the book? Was Grey worm's d*ck cut in the books? These are some of the things i want to know. |

BraniacX:ok, when Aegon III and his two sons died, why did his brother Viserys II become king and not his daughter? This whole scenario played out in the dance of the dragon. Female heirs are always behind all possible male heirs in Targaryen law. 1 Like |

geezyk:Bran is south of the wall and has the mark of the Night King on him. Anywhere Bran is, the Night King can go regardless of any magic in place to stop him. As for needing the dragon to bring down the wall, that was only necessary to allow his army of the dead march through. The magic on the wall is in its foundations and the foundations are still intact but the magic does not hold back the dead anymore because the dead follow the Night King and Night King can go anywhere Bran is. It is my belief that if Bran had listened to the last Three-eyed-raven and not done that 'whatever-thing-he-does' so recklessly, he would never have been marked by the Night King. That singular amateurish mistake is the precursor to all that is happening now. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Blockdock90:Any under 18 person watching the show is not HBO's concern. They have already put up a disclaimer. If the showrunners are taking underage viewers into account, shouldn't the violence also be toned down? Anyone who decides to lose their virginity because Arya Stark, an imaginary character, lost hers is a certified mumu. Olodo with Master's degree. They can as well go and murder their enemies because Arya Stark did so. The people who were inspired to try out the Russian Roulette weren't kids. They were grown men. There have been a lots of other cases. For instance the movie Deep Throat was key in modifying people's views towards watching pornography. It's a statistical fact that the consumption of pornography spiked after the movie was released.I know the people you were talking about weren't kids. I just gave you an account of how old I was when I was influenced by outlandish movie information. Anyone who decides to try something crazy because of a movie is on some epic level of stupid. I haven't seen Deep Throat so I can't really respond to that. I'm not asking you to strain your brain to identify themes in movies and books. Actually if your brain needs straining in other to identify easily recognizable themes, then maybe you lack the kind of intelligence or knowledge needed to spot these themes, and I'd advice you stick to consuming movies and books just for entertainment purposes. I read Animal farm for the first time when I was 10. It was all just entertainment for me because I didn't have the knowledge to recognize it's underlying message. But when I read about 20th century communism and how dangerous the ideology was, the message of Animal Farm became VERY EASY to recognize. There's a difference between the themes a creator is trying to enumerate and the themes you think he/she is. Anybody with half a brain can spot the main themes of GOT. Then, everybody else has a theme they think they can observe that Benioff and Weiss may or may not have any clue about. The toxic feminism you're noticing is visible to you. That doesn't mean it's actually a theme in GOT. I could probably spin a theory on how they glorify murder and serial killers, if I tried. Notice how you had to read up on communism before noticing any correlation to Animal Farm. Imagine if you never came across the word "Communism"? Would not understanding Animal Farm's theme make you any less intelligent? I mean go on Goodreads and see intelligent people giving review on books. Hardly would you find anyone who just reviews a book based on it's entertainment value. Same thing on the Reddit sub dedicated to books. Smart, knowledgeable people care more about the materials they consume than just how it entertains them. This is actually what separates average writers from good writers. The reason Chimamanda is so successful owes a lot to how well she explores culturally relevant themes. If I met someone who when I asked what they thought about Chimamanda's Americanah and all they said was that it was very entertaining, I wouldn't have a high opinion of such person. 1 Like |

Seun:She'll need to shag Jon for that, bad cess to her, I got kwings blaad She should come shag me instead, she's super hot in real life though Book Littlefinger would have killed Bran or cooked up an excuse to leave Winterfell with the Vale army once Bran told him "chaos is a ladder". He woulda upped and scampered away for safety but not without asking questions whose answers would have scared him witless first, then he woulda tried to silence bran from afar and learn from his failure to either run away from westeros or restrategize or perhaps sow the seeds of doubt and disbelief in bran so people will dispute his truths I don't remember you complaining that thousands of girls who idolized Arya would start murdering people when Arya was murdering people. Then according to him anyway , the rightist maninism or chauvinism wasn't apparent enough |

meforkene: Cercie is a renegade. Since she went back on her word to send troops to the north, I learnt not to believe anything she says until it is proven true. Cercie wouldn't drink wine if indeed she was pregnant. The words of Maggie the frog still rings in her head and if she was indeed pregnant she would do all to protect her baby. Cercie is a psychopath. I would never believe her till the show ends. I'm sure Tyrion agrees with me |

Blockdock90:To put this confusion to rest, one only needs to ask 'has there ever been a Targeryan Queen in the history of Targeryans ruling the seven kingdoms?' If none, then it goes to prove gender always comes first. The closest male relative always takes the throne whether his position is direct, sideways, slanting, or zig-zag in the line of succession. 2 Likes |

Blockdock90:Well said. However, what lots of people also refuse to understand is that we humans are generally stupid. I'm not referring to you please, I'm referring to the entire human race. We exhibit conscious intelligence and selective dumbness only when the narrative suits us, me inclusive. Any young girl who loses her virginity because Arya lost hers in that scene deserves to undergo complete and thorough mental evaluation because something has clearly fried in her brain, that is if she doesn't already know what she's doing but feigns being under the influence of fandom. A perfect way to lay the blame on someone/something else so typical of today's world. You made a good point about how movies influence human psychology, ok , but are there not other movies/shows out there with themes that can also Influence human psychology & cancel-out this negative orientation these so-called naive, young girls & others have absorbed from GOT? Except of course we want to pretend , I won't be surprised , that psychological influence can only be negative. Again, if you understand the science of psychology you'll also know that though you might successfully drag a horse to the stream, you cannot force it to drink. The decisions we make in life & what we eventually become - good or bad - has always been a part of us. We were just too blind to see it. You cannot eat your cake and have it. You cannot want a great story yet try to dictate how the mind of the story teller works. You have two options: Stop listening , or tell your own story. Saying a book cannot be read, a Movie should not/cannot be watched solely for entertainment is hilarious. So tell me, why do you watch GoT, tell me? Inshort, tell me why you watch movies in general. Tell me the expectation(s) you always have in mind before you click play. Before you do, permit me to guess -- knowledge? If no, then I'm waiting. Human emotions like - happiness, sadness, shock, fear - all belong to a Spectrum encapsulating a range of emotions. I know people who love to watch only fear-themed movies . Others prefer happiness-themed ones. Others prefer sad ones. Knowledge, whatever your sole reason for reading books/watching movies is, entertainment etc - all belong to another spectrum. If you read books/watch movies because you want to experience one of the elements in this spectrum (knowledge or whatever your reason is) then why do you feel you are better than somebody who , just like you, wants to experience another element in that spectrum too, entertainment in this case. Prove to me why knowledge (or whatever your reason for reading/watching movies ) is better than Entertainment. Yes, you MUST watch GoT for entertainment and ignore its glaring themes because GoT is a fantasy series created for the sole purpose of Entertainment. That's why a young girl rides a fire-spitting dragon. That's why one lord of light can ressurect somebody not just once, twice, but 15 ffucking times You cannot control somebody's fantasy created for the sole purpose of entertainment just because it has glaring themes. Game of thrones has an embarrassing abundance of other glaring themes too, that include bravery & sacrifice & nobility. A crooked young girl will never become noble just because she watches Game of thrones, but that same young girl will decide to lose her virginity all of a sudden just because she watches Game of thrones ? Funny how we agree movies can grip us in an hypnotic trance, but quickly snap out of that powerful hypnosis immidiately the narrative doesn't suit us. Game of Throne's success has become it's biggest problem. The world now treats it like a Mordern Bible, picking every word apart, every sentence, every move -- forgetting it's just some poor old Guy's fantasy. Three, if you include D Benioff & D Weiss take-over. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

BraniacX:Aegon III had 2 sons and 3 daughters. He had a younger brother too. When he died, his first son became king, the first son died without a heir. So the throne went to the 2nd son who died without heir too. The throne was supposed to go to the eldest daughter according to your claim, but the throne went to Aegon III's younger brother. 1 Like |

lilbest4: Whether you open your eye or close it, your opinion doesn't count. It is either you enjoy the show or you swerve. What is really feminism? It seems your definition of that is the one portrayed by our naija slayqueens. If that is it, then you are misguided. That scene only encourages women leadership and nothing more. Do you have a problem with women being in power? |

Fadedvoices2:omo you dull no be small. I can't even believe these are people I was even arguing with. The "atrocities men committed and everything they did to women" serve to promote the stereotype in vogue in the west currently that men are barbaric, animalistic sexual predators and aggressors. All those discussing feminism (for, against, unnoticed) should please carry your smartness an total intelligence to Quora. Professional critics hav discussed that topic for years. Then for those that wanna go mad search '#gameofthrones feminism' on twitter. I promise you, if you spend time engaging there, you'll not come disturb us here with your half, broken record assertions. (Some over there even said that Tormund invented feminism)...sweet madness.
