You guys should calm down about entering UAE next Month because of Ramadan. I heard work slow down and most companies don't recruit during the period.

If you're still in the planning process of coming to UAE and you have no skills, I'll suggest you just tryna learn one for a month or two or more. Just have an idea of what the job is about and how to go about it for example AC repair, painting or just look through the dubai job search and see what you have interest in. It's better that way than to enter and be dragging cleaner job with the Filipinos .

Plan ahead because the hustle is very tough and please don't come to UAE without a plan A and B.

Hello all, I just landed a job offer and I was told to attestate my degree at the ministry of foreign affairs and their embassy and also get a "no criminal report(I think from the police) and attestate it too at the ministry and their embassy. Please what is the process like?

If you have attested your results from Nigeria, just head straight to Burjuman at the Ministry of foreign affairs.

Good Day Guys!

Many thanks for all those that have been updating this thread with valid information.

Please, I have some few queries and will like those that are in the finance/accounting field in UAE to please advise ME.

I'm a Chartered Accountant-ACCA-UK Member and also have passed CFA(US) level 1 and writing Level 11 CFA Exams by June'19 with more than 8 years relevant experience in Financial Modeling, ERP, Budgeting, Financial Planning & Analysis, etc.

Currently I' work as a Senior Financial Analyst here in Nigeria and make like..N500k per month. From my experience, it's really difficult for one to make above that without knowing someone (I might be wrong though).

Looking at coming to Dubai to job hunt and will like to know from those with local experience if its worth it and whats the best way to do go about it. I've had guys that have move from here and were lucky to find great jobs but all of them are in IT and not in Finance.

Any advice 'll be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Don't come to job hunt, is difficult they prefer philipnos and Indians to us Africa expecially Nigeria, you have a good salary in Nigeria, you can apply as u are in Nigeria and you take it from there, with all my BSc and Msc if u see d type of job I was doing before having my own personal Residence, so I suggest you stay back but if ur degree is UK u have a better chance of landing that dream job.

Yes, I have a local bachelor's degree. However, I'm a professional UK qualified accountant (ACCA Member) which I think should be more valuable than my degree in UAE. Also, as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) level 11 candidate, I'was hoping this should give me some leverage since CFA is also one of the top qualifications in finance in the USA. In a similar vein, I agree that I make on average a good salary here in Nija, but converting that to USD is just around 1250 USD per month or say 4,500aed..

Also, please whats the cost of a own personal residence?

Thanks

Leaving a job of 500k to job hunt in another country is sickening, personally I won’t advice it. Secure a job online from Nigeria don’t come and be dragging housekeeping job with Indians, I repeat Stay away from UAE visit visa for the sole purpose of job hunt... it’s more difficult to secure a job now as Africans honestly, regardless of your qualifications. An average Nigerian working in uae is looking to migrate to another country. A country where you can have a life and probably become citizen someday, and hey! If you’re going to be honest with yourself more than 30% of African immigrants in America don’t have 500k naira after tax, house rent and utilities

Right but what’s the probability of getting the chief accountant job? Very very low, they prefer Filipinos and Indians. A lot of us are where we’re today with God grace, can’t even explain. Chief accountant lol

@ NIGHTLIFE100

Great Advice. However, I'm sure this is based on your personal experience. I have had guys with similar qualifications and experience making more than twice my salary here in Nigeria, move-on to another country and made it big. Though, not UAE.

I might still risk it-moving to UAE. 'll never do housekeeping jobs. Worst case scenario, I'll return back to Nija

Many thanks again for your contribution.

lol, I laugh. Did you see where I mentioned she should leave her job to come and hunt for job here, I was only saying her qualifications can earn her up to 12k aed here. So before your say something, read to understand

Meanwhile if you have been following my posts to have known about the accusations, you should have also noticed that i usually say UAE is 50:50

I see your reasoning but what happen to Canada Federal Skilled Worker Program? Skilled worker is the most suitable and reasonable for your claimed qualification...A professional should never think of visit visa to job hunt in any country, I sense desperation and sorry if my Choice of words don’t go well with you but I doubt your claim anyway, best of luck in whatever

I believe that, what NIGHTLIFE100 & manneger2 are trying to say is that
With all your qualifications, you should start applying online till you get a suitable job offer above your current,
Then you can move over there.

GOOD luck.

When some of us are jumping there to job hunt,
It's because we earn less than 500aed here...
So a 1000aed job with accommodation looks pretty from here...

LOL... The way manneger2 is talking... Even after renting his own apartment in less than a year of moving there... He must have seen THINGS...

manneger2, Bros share ya experience please, some of us are planning to raid our life saving to go there O! Lol
Thank you

Oga once you’re qualified, you would be taken. Two of my colleagues are Tanzania & Zimbabwean

Only that Nigerians mostly go for odd jobs like security, housekeeping etc
