I wonder why all the people condemning the woman for "only" giving this driver N500 refuse to consider that the money might not even be hers to give away in the first place? What if she'd merely be given the money to hand over to someone else? What if she needed it to pay for something essential, like hospital treatment for her child? What if even the "mere" N500 she gave the driver was actually beyond her means? There is simply no evidence provided to support the assumption that this woman was just being stingy and could easily have "dashed" this driver a much larger sum, just the manifestation of a raging entitlement mentality hiding behind a false mask of moral indignation.

As others have pointed out, the Uber driver was in no way obliged to drive out of his way simply to return the money and passport, as he could simply have called or messaged her to come pick up her belongings at some place and time of maximum convenience to him. As such, the driver has no right to demand "compensation" for a needless trip he chose to make without any prompting whatsoever. Given his sense of indignation at not being rewarded for his "good" deed, I'm even given to wonder if he didn't choose to drive down with the wallet and money in lecherous hopes of being invited in for a certain other kind of "reward", assuming he wasn't actually trying to scope the woman's residence out in preparation for a return visit where he'll try to take his "just reward" at gunpoint while wearing a mask ...

If the money wasn't her's; Wouldn't she have paid another Uber a round trip fee to and from the Uber office if he had left the stuff there for her?
