Format of CV for visa? this is the first time I am seeing this tho.. Madam, there is no format for CV when applying for a study permit, in fact CV is not a compulsory document for ur study permit application, cos we have seen countless number of applicants here getting their Visa without submitting any CV.. Submit ur CV the way it is.. If you were applying for a JOB in Canada now, I know there is a particular format for writing ur CV but no format for study visa.. So please be guided.. I agree with you. There are two ways I know one can access their RSA. Either they are out of job or retired. Even when one is out of job, one has access to only 25% (I stand to be corrected). So for me I think RSA just signifies home tie. As the VOs know that there are certain conditions to be met before one can access RSA, I don't think it can be used as proof of funds. IbikunleBukky: |

If your uncle has the capacity to to sponsor you all through ur stay in Canada, why not? But note that you must show ur relationship with ur Uncle and convicne the VO he is very capable of taking responsibility of you financially.. Peace Biot34: 1 Like 1 Share |

I need everyone thoughts pls on this. My sponsor wants to transfer 40% of my tuition to my personal acct now, my resumption is on Monday 6th, and they (vo) just started my eligibility review and background check. Should I send mail notifying vo of additional amount I have for the program and also state the source? |

A smart one there. for the fact that someone is using his or her retirement benefits to sponsor able adult canada is a red flag. except if the RSA is massive like 50m or more. Qudkom: 1 Like |

Caddy123:I have a couple advices for you: 1. Defer your admission before the first day of class in order to prevent you from loosing your deposit and admission. 2. Send a webform attaching the bank statement and reference letter from the bank. 3. When you get the new admission letter send another webform attaching the new admission letter. 4.send a case specific inquiry to the consulate responsible for your application. E.g Google cic-kenya and send a mail to the Kenya inquiry mail address. 2 Likes |

ADVISE NEEDED FROM GURUS How ideal is it to say that your sister will sponsor your tuition 13k, flight 3k, part of upkeep 10k for a student with wife going to quebec? student has 6k in account. does it make sense to co sponsor? or what will be the perfect strategy to deploy? wont it show over dependency on relative? advise on way to go? |

IbikunleBukky: 13k what, 3k what 10k what and 6k what. You need to specify the currency. |

TRV UPDATE for the week ending May 4th Looks like a good number of applications - about 8 - are lagging current CIC processing time which is now 10 weeks compared to 9 weeks as at last week. For those that got SP outcomes that they weren't hoping for, I pray for God's guidance through this short-term setback and that he perfects everything in the end. I'm hoping that more people would share their timelines as this exercise helps in establishing a timeline around how CIC operates. We still have incomplete information from the following people: Seatea, Oni2019, docsaj, Cutieflaky, Klem28, Ancy 26, Omarzx, Wealthmiq and Iykedpetes. In addition, if anyone has received an update (i.e. medical request, eligibility, etc), please share because as it stands now, almost all of us are still on background check. Finally, if you guys have any ideas on how we can present this information better or what else we can add to it or remove from it, I am always open any adjustment that'll make this better. It shall end in praise! 3 Likes

Hello guys, I've a little problem regarding my sponsor and how to prove tie to home country to the VO. My Grandfather (Paternal) is the one sponsoring me but we have slight difference in our name spellings. He bears the short form of our surname alongside his son (our father) while I and my siblings bear the full version of the name. It happened that, about few years ago they reverted to the short form of the name while we already began owning certificates in the original surname so there was no one we could also revert to it so we had to continue using it. Ques: How do I proof to the VO he's truly my grandfather Secondly: How do I prove tie to home country as I'm just 21 years of age. Finally: My mom intend going with me. I will like to know the possibility of this happening and the category of visa she will have to apply for. ps: I'm going for masters. Thank you |

Hi everyone and happy sunday, i have been following this thread for a while and i must commend your efforts on keeping us going. i am about to apply for a study permit and i need help. I applied to NAIT DMIT for fall 2019, my sister and her husband both Canadian citizens are my sponsors. In the sponsorship letter they have stated that they will be accommodating me for the period of two years and will be responsible for my tuition, upkeep and every other thing. My question is do i need to include my own SOA? My home ties currently are my other two siblings and my widowed mum i have been taking care of since January 2019 my pops passed. |

daemeyer: Hello, First and foremost sorry about your dad, may his soul rest in Peace. If you claim to be the apparent breadwinner in your house then you need to show proof of personal asset and finance (Soa, properties, shares and bonds etc) You also need to account for your families economic activities that way a VO understands your dependents and how it may/maynot affect you. I will advice your sponsor pay your tuition and provide a detailed los with proof on why they are sponsoring you and all. This is my initial verdict. |

democrat101: To prove your relationship with your grandpa; 1. Get a few pictures you snapped with him 2. An affidavit explaining the discrepancy in your surname. Your mum can apply with you if she intends to study also apparently and Canada opens door for family members to apply with principal applicants however it's a little tricky. The vo might think you are using the study route to immigrate to Canada and she applying with you might weaken your home ties. |

Asapant:I have noticed the amount of supporting documents you've been compiling this past days. I know you think it makes a good case but too much of it might confuse the vo. So be careful the kind of documents you attach. |

Qudkom:Thank you for your response sir. As regards the home tie, I do not have any property in my name neither do I have a job. How else convincingly can I prove to the VO I'll return after my studies. The only tie someone suggested was cool for me to use is my twin sister. we've never really stayed apart. Tho! we intended going for masters together but due to funds this seems not feasible anymore. And again, we studied outside Nigeria, an African country precisely. A friend feels this should convince the VO in some sort of way that I'll would want to return home because of her since this we be the first we be staying apart. Then lastly, someone suggested since my course has alot to benefit my country, I should input details of how I'm planning coming back to invest my knowledge in home country in my SOP.. please what do you think? thank you once again.. 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Qudkom(m): 11:36am On May 05, 2019 |
democrat101: 1. Your family isn't the only thing that can stand for you as ties to your home country. So using your sister won't work. You need to tidy up your ties. 2. Stating you have no job will jeopardise your application because the vo will think you are not going to come back after your studies. 3. You definitely need a convincing sop and take care of your financial portfolio. You shouldn't have issues with travel history. P.s: your friends are definitely trying to help out but stating you are going to come back because of your twin is vague and no vo will buy that. 1 Like |

Qudkom:OK sir, considering your points, how else can I convince the VO I'll return. I have the capacity to claim to be a worker at my Grandpa company and he will be paying half of my tuition fee. isn't this convincing enough to the VO? 1 Like |

Qudkom:thanks for your response and condolence, actually i am not the breadwinner, i am just staying with my mum helping her out while i work as a software developer at an IT company in abuja. my boss already gave me a grant for leave for the next two years and also a sponsorship letter. in my letter of intent i claim the government plans to pay my dad his 15years pension arrears wihich my brother and i have planned to use to create a reputable family business. as for my sponsors, they have opened a joint account in my name with 30k$ CIBC Bank. they also produced their SOA and letter from bank claiming their annual salary is about 191k $. i am also waiting to enrol in my fall semester term so i can pay my tuition as i cannot pay tuition without enrolling. after paying tuition then i can submit my visa application. so my question is should i still upload my own personal SOA? thanks |
