justwise: Oga, Have i done anything wrong with what I said? U can see I'm an applicant just like him. Am I advertising any product or what? So the fact that I said I wanted to go through his application with him was an issue? Have I ever posted such a thing before? Na wa o You can delete me from the forum, it does not affect my life and destiny. In Nigeria, there is no freedom to do anything. Greetings, I have been following this and previous threads and it has been really helpful. I just have a quick question. For those that applied online, what documents did you upload? I already uploaded loa and receipt of payment, passport photograph, international passport. For the proof of funds column, what documents needs to be uploaded? |

JustMellow: Alright Sir.. thanks once again for your response. You mentioned using courier service in your previous reply and I'm considering it already. But I will need to call the UK Canadian embassy or whoever that handles online application from Nigeria. Sir, I will be very grateful if you can assist me in getting their contact number. Thanks! |

It is always good to apply to a lot of schools (though capital intensive) one of them will give you admission at the end. In this Canada business patience is the key. nonipeter: |

justwise: Dear @justwise and @Schonebaby, I really understand your concern, and you are really not to be blamed, we really cannot easily trust one another or think that our neighbour has good intentions because of the scar that has been engraved inadvertently on our memories due to bad governance and which brought serious economic hiccups. As a result, the international communities view us under the lens of enormous doubt, unlike the times of Afe Babalola, Bennet Omalu, Chimamanda, Babalola Borisade (Late), Akinwumi Adesina etc. when good academic intentions and ambition could easily get you a Visa as a genuine student without the need to come from a Bill-gate-like Nigerian background. However, I have had personal chat and phone call with the Moniker (@Schonebaby) and the said Moniker did not ask me for anything, neither has the person mentioned an agent or trying to make business transaction out of my predicament. It seems like I caught the Moniker's attention simply because we are of the same discipline, though with a level of graduate degree higher than mine. It is on the strength of the above that i want to clarify the the Moniker (@Schonebaby) is a genuine person, with good intention to assist based on related experience with same spirit as that of a good Nairalander. I thank you @Schonebaby and @justwise for interest in my case. Nigeria must work and we must keep contributing to her progress without relenting. Sincerely, AgroNACT. 15 Likes |

Well said brother. But the main reason why @justwise frowns at PM Is so that other people can learn from what ever advice would be given to you, there by making the thread to grow. Just imagine if all the information that is here were sent by PM. The aim of this thread would have been completely defeated. Hello guys, I sincerly appriciate all your efforts and selfless service in putting every applicant through in our documentation for visa approval . May God almighty crown all our effort with success. AMEEN! Please guys I would like to ask some vital questions as regards my visa application. 1. I intend to do online submission so I have already filled my study permit form and also validated it but im confused on the aspect where they ask if I had already lived in any designated country for the past six years and if I was refused visa before. In 2014 I travelled to Qatar for work but returned back to Nigeria in 5 months after.....also in 2015 I was refused visa to attend a conference in Germany 2. My question is, I don't have any employment letter as prove of work in Qatar but, I still have my expired residence permit id card. So can I include it in my sop or I should not even mention it as part of travel experience in my application since I do not have the employment letter. Although, the residence permit for my qatar travelling is on my expired passport not the new one I have now 3. Can I state in my form that I was also refused Germany visa some years back. This also appears on my old passport. Should I include it or not since its on my old passport. 4. On my new passport I was refused a shengen tourist visa in Feburay 2019. So I only included this alone as my only refusal.. should I leave it like that or what.... Pleas, i need an urgent reply to this above questions from the guru in the house. Thanks and God bless you all. |

AgroNACT: Its really hard pleasing these VOs and no one can absolutely predict are they scrutinize applications. Your application seems good but in the absence of your gcms notes to really ascertain the authentic facts, i will point fingers at the Purpose of Visit as the principal reason and your current employment situation which dragged your financial status into the fold. Getting a full funding/scholarship isn't a guarantee for a straight approval as you may baffle why. An applicant's financial capability/status and financial sufficiency might sound similar but relatively different to an extent. In using your case to explain this: Financial Capability/status is based on the applicant's personal/sponsor's/cosponsor's available funds whilst Financial Sufficiency is based on the applicant's funding/scholarship which you were able to satisfy one and didn't in the other. The VOs believe so much in a ready/available/liquid fund readily accessible than a promissory paper of intent/agreement even if it would be later available in the near future. Mostly, during eligibility review, these VOs make an applicant's funds part of their scrutiny in this stage. Now, let's assume to think like a VO: what if your DLI spontaneously send in a sincere letter/email of apology that they won't be able to or continue to fund an applicant at this stage given to some unprecedented/unforeseen reaaon(s) and they are cancelling the scholarship/funding, were will such applicant now fall back to? this would throw the applicant into a state of critical confusion and into an immediate stance of depression, making such applicant a liability to the Canadian government. To what is obvious, the VO might actually be averting this, and wanting to see at least a financial sufficiency from the side of the applicant even if no commitment is done given the presence of the scholarship/funding. Be as it may, the deeds has been done, let's look to the future which is very bright. My advise is: 1. Get a sponsor that has a good convincing closing balance, and get the sponsor to write LOS with how much to be pledged for your Canadian studies.(This is just for formality given the presence of your full funding and you don't need the sponsor to pay a dime). Let the sponsor also pledge to pay for your flight itinerary. 2. Include your personal account of 1.2m which this time, it will be met for sundry/miscellaneous expenses. Do well to express it out in your SOP. 3. Too many unnecessary documents, trim it down a bit and in place of work experience, include your NYSC PPA letter - do well to also fill it in the IMM form. In this form, in the place of work experience, fill in your academic institutions attended till NYSC with dates and certificates as proof. 4. Rework your SOP, and any vital points and claimed assertions should be backed with proper evidence. 5. You can use your family property as an inherited property of yours, then use your father's date certificate to relate the facts of such inheritance. you can get a lawyer to prepare the documents. Your wife should be more in better position than extended family that can compel you return. This should be your home ties but you can build more on it. 6. Good luck! 4 Likes |

I'll try my best to answer from my limited knowledge of this process... 1. Canada has a list of designated countries, please use Google to find this out. Your visa refusal doesn't mean you travelled to a designated country. 2. I really don't know why you want to include your trave history in your SOP - maybe someone else can help with that. If you do decide to include it, your employment letter isn't relevant, your resident permit is as long as it was a legal residence. 3. Please include all your refusals in the form, be they in the new or old passport. 4. My answer to no. 3 answers this question too. Include all your refusals. Please speak on your home ties in your SOP: what will bring you back to Nigeria/your motivation to come back to Nigeria. If you need help on that, please go through this thread to see what you could possibly use for home ties. alubarikalomo: |

godsong: Kez911: There is absolutely no harm including a sales or rental receipt as a supporting/additional document especially if there is discrepancies or irregularities in an applicant's/sponsor's source of funds or not, either way, its a goal. But for an applicant that has a source of funds that is rock solid might decide not to include it or not. BTW supporting documents are encouraged or acceptable by IRCC especially if it will build a substantive explanation for the applicant. |

Asapant: Don't be in haste to apply. If a sponsor's financial status/sufficiency likewise the applicant is not rock solid, your application is likely to get refused. With the above staeme provided about your sponsor's financial sufficiency/status its a NO NO! If he's not selling the land to get the liquid funds, it won't count as a source of funds and such might get the VO wondering why trying to bankrupt just because of a course that can be done in your home country likewise questioning your true intent. Irrespective of you being the only child or not, if your sponsor can't present a clear/sufficient evidence of his source of funds and proof of funds, then you driving on only LUCK which isn't suppose to be so in terms of immigration. Good luck! |

Before sending your SOP/LOE to anyone for review, the best thing that you can do for yourself is to first do your own homework and ensure that you have written a convincing essay that addresses the issues the VO would be seeking clarity for. Depending on your particular situation, you may need to weigh in on some section more than others. For instance, in my particular case, I used prodigy finance loans as POF so I had to really justify the cost of undertaking my studies. Here is the template my friend used... It was in the form of bullet points that she should address in her SOP/LOE 1. Why do you wish to study in Canada in the program for which you have been accepted? 2. What is your overall educational goal? 3. Why are you not pursuing a similar program in your country of residence? 4. What research have you done into studies in your country of residence or of citizenship? 5. How will this program enhance your employment opportunities in your country of residence or of citizenship? 6. Mention your Academic and professional history 7. State how the benefits of the intended studies warrant the cost and the difficulty of undertaking foreign education 8. Show evidence of how your declared employment (if working) constitute a significant tie to your home country 9. State employment prospects given the troubled economic condition in your home country that would compel you to return to Nigeria 10. Talk about assets or property that ties you to Nigeria 11. What ties do you have to your country of residence or of citizenship? Talk about family 12. If it has been more than 2 years since you have left full time education, please provide your C.V.
