It’s COPR guys (LONG POST ALERT)

First, I will like to give glory to Almighty God, who in his infinite mercy, not only made this process successful but delivered it with more good news. Let me jump right into it.

This is the time to appreciate everyone in here but most importantly @newmum0615, we exchanged over 30 emails, Ramj, Joo2018 etc. To my November AOR WhatsApp group, you people are too much. We are changing the group name soon to “November Applicants turned Canadians”. I wish everyone success at every stage of the process and pray that Canada favours us, more than expected. Peace out!!!

Congrats to you and yours

We started this journey in 2015. We knew about the Express Entry programme as soon as it started because we got information from Hubby’s friend. I wrote IELTS and did my ECA in 2016 and entered the pool but my marks were too low. I had a lot of options of improving my marks which included getting either another diploma to add to my degree or a Masters. My hubby could not be considered due to his age.
I decided it was better to go school in Canada. So I applied for visa to study in 2016 and was denied in August 2016. I also did again in 2017 and was refused in August 2017 and was refused the second time. To make matters worse, I discovered I was pregnant with baby no 3. Chai, It was not in the plan at all. Baby no 3 was supposed to wait till I got to Canada but no, he had to come then (POF increases again). In 2017 I learnt about Expression of interest in Manitoba and I dropped my application. Miraculously I got a phone number of a long lost cousin who already resides there. From the beginning, my target had always been Manitoba. I and my hubby seemed to have a lot of family and friends in Manitoba so provincial nomination was okay for us.

In 2018 January, I got an LAA to apply for Manitoba and in May 2018, I got nomination, before I could say Jack Robinson, my IELTS expired. I had to register for another one and got my report in July (I had done my Medicals in June). I created another profile and got ITA in July 25, 2018 and submitted on August 9, 2019 (Remember all my refusals came in August, now my AOR was August.

POF was jointly supplied by I and Hubby savings, My Mummy, and My Sister. You see this my Mummy is someone that I can’t stop appreciating. After singe handedly bringing me up and seeing me through school, she still stood by me in fulfilling my dreams. Na real . My one and only sister, I kept calling her when I get broke and discouraged. My hubby was the real MVP cos my application went to Accra, when I heard that, I was shaking wondering who I offended for my file to land there. He was always encouraging me telling me we will laugh last.

After AOR, the wait began and I waiteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddd and no movement was done on my file until I got an ADR IN March 12, for some documents. Then another wait began. Accra woke up and started dishing out PPRs in April. I waiteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddddddd again. There was a guy I guided through the MPNP programme whose AOR is December, yet he got PPR before me. Every day I keep checking my profile. While waiting I got worried, so much that my blood pressure rose (Note that my blood pressure was always normal even in pregnancy.) When I got so agitated, I decided I would give back.

So in April 2019, I started writing a book to simplify the express entry process pouring my heart into the book as I waited on the manifestation of my PPR. I was in Chapter 4 when PPR came, now the issue I have is how I have to travel before June ending, cos medicals will expire shortly. Do they really extend medical expiry by one month?

Thanks to everyone on Nairaland, Accra VO Whatsapp group, August AOR Group, 2018 ITA Group. You guys rocked. I’ve met a lot of friends and banter on all the groups were a source of encouragement. If I start mentioning names, I might leave out some people. Thanks everyone, we will meet in Canada.

Congratulations oo..

This is good news. The Lord has done it for you.

Thank God for your mum and sis that helped you at the times you needed them.

I will rate this script 7.2/10. Thank you for sharing with us.

As for your medicals, you can send them a mail requesting for an extension. However, sometimes it does not work.

So i'll advice you to prepare as though you would travel before its expiry. if they however extend it, then its to your gain.

I wish you the best in Canada.

God bless you!

Hi Everyone in the House,

Please, I have two questions for those that have had a similar experience.

1. I have evaluated my National Diploma and BSc, am currently doing a Master in the USA now, Do I need to evaluate that master again? as in.. do I need to send it to WES to update my evaluation again since it is the USA?

2. Do police report needed to be addressed specifically to Canada Immigration and Citizenship? I was told from the police that they do not address the report to specific organization or agency but to a country that the report is to be used, in this case, it will indicate Canada. Please, is that what you all did? Is that acceptable?

Thanks very much.

If your ND and Bsc are enough to give you the points you need to get ITA then you can forgo evaluating the MSC for now.

The police report won't be addressed to any agency, they'll just write the name of the country you're using it for

Thanks very much.

Have you simulated your CRS score with two or more certificates vs. waiting for your Masters? If your points are enough to get ITA with two or more certificates (the two you've already evaluated), you can enter the pool with that. If you want to use Masters to enter the pool, you will still need to evaluate it with WES or any other ECA body. I would suggest you simulate your score with the two or more and with your IELTS to see where you stand currently.

Thank you very much for your response. ND and BSc didn't give me enough scores because I have advanced in age a little. I will be 35 this year. So I need the MSc, even with that, my points will still be low, though, may consider PNP

You see ehnn, in this life, one must never wish to be in another person's place because you can't tell the end from the beginning. Your only prayer should be "Thy will be done".

Just yesterday (c'mon, not literally - late last year), those sent to Accra VO were wishing they got sent to Ottawa VO. Today, I know lots of Ottawa gang that are way past the 6 months mark while AVO gang seems to be in an explosion of PPRs.

This life na Patience and Contentment oooo.
