I successfully rooted my Infinix note 5 by using Magisk manager app to patch the phone's boot image. The "patched_boot.img" should be flashed through adb fastboot. The correct fastboot flash code is:
fastboot flash boot_a patched_boot.img

December security patch came in January, no February, march came in april, then april... after pie update, No news on led notification bug for non Android apps, hotspot malfunctions, camera quality dropped after pie update, and worsened after march security patch, battery drain after pie update to yet to be addressed, you can check xclub for all thia issues. Am sure you will pretend that you did not notice people selling off their note 5 here on nairaland and xclub. Besides Android 9 camein February,where did you get 9 months ago from because beta testing was not fully translated till February..

Its like the people above your post don't have problem with their infinix, i hope they have a solution for yours, some of us had to upgrade, even on infinix xclub, the admins and moderators don't have a clue

I had even dash a friend my note 5, it heats up, the xcharge no longer shows/works, the batteey drains like mad, notification led only works fir system apps, all this problem after pie updates and February security patch
