I love the bolded. What a determination! You can do a short landing with family and come back to Naija if you don't want to stay and be visiting Canada from time to time to retain your PR status. Big congratulations to you. We shall all get the pally, no matter what! Kswife: |

iaatmguy: He has a very good profile. At 28 and with a Masters, he can use only the one year NYSC experience. The school getting shut down is not a problem, he should write his JD by himself and the add LOE to explain that the school was shut down. Then he can provide bank statements to back up his pay for that period and if possible NYSC deployment letter to the school (& discharge certificate). Alternatively, he can track down the former principal/headmaster wherever he/she is to write the reference for him CC: @djpoepe 7 Likes 1 Share |

Hi everyone, I am new on the train and I have started reading up from previous threads. God bless everyone for this kind act of giving back. I have a question, I am not sure it has been answered previously tho as I am yet to see. I did the CRS point simulation with me as principal applicant and I noticed that I had more points as to my husband being principal applicant. This is because he is 9yrs older and I am in my late 20s. Although he has an MBA from the US and I am just using my BSc. My question is, when it gets to Proof of funds most of our funds are in my husband’s name. If I apply as principal applicant will I need to have the funds in my name? Or can I also present the funds in my husband’s name? 1 Like |

Hello all, I am a silent reader here. I tap from the very wisdom of blessed and intelligent people here who have made a deliberate decision to make life easy for fellow Nigerians. God bless you all. Nigeria is indeed blessed with leadership, but we only have a choice problem that's why we have square pegs in round holes. I want to thank Nairalanders for their support and also report my PPR , which I got since April 17th. I wanted to get my COPR before I report myself, but I have been bothered about flights and wondering if I and my wife will be allowed to book a one-way ticket to Canada, hence my decision to write sooner than I had anticipated. I will share my PPR journey/ story once I receive my COPR from Accra in about a week by God's grace. Thanks all, and please do help with my questions. Seniors in the house, did you book a one-way ticket or both ways? 25 Likes 1 Share |

cinammon: A bank account in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse is an acceptable proof of funds. If your husband is going with you to Canada, you may use money in an account under his name only, but you must prove you have access to the money. You can submit your husband's proof of funds and support with some form of declaration (signed by him) or LOE to attest that you have complete access to the funds in his account. |

My dear family, once again, I appreciate the good work and intense effort put into the group... God will truly reward us and our desires shall be granted. I have become worried following the rejection of @babybanke based on sibling relationship. My wife claimed sibling points cos she has 2 brothers in Canada. The documents submitted for sibling relationship were the birth certificate for her and her brother (Not from NPC) and international passport that shows the same surname. We are worried that this might not be sufficient proof. What do you advice. Should we leave the application and wait for ADR if any or do we get the attestation of birth documents and raise a CSE for it? Which do you think is better please advise @Ifeoma77, @Raphlz, @Topsmamen, @ladymarshall, @joo 2018, @everybody. Please help Thank you |

kanzaza: You certainly should book ONE WAY, except if you have plans of returning, probably what we call "Soft-Landing". Otherwise, stick with one way. The visa you have isn't tourist...lol Though Return is usually cheaper, but if you do not have reason to return any time soon, you may just do away with it and stick to One Way. Also according to records, you may consider::: OTHER TIPS::::regarding traveling <Ethiopian Air, Egypt Air, if money isn't much of issue, Lufthansa> <you may also try booking via the app - cheaper> <use skyscanner.net for favourable searches> <play with dates for a month's time range> <Sunday and Tuesday seem to be cheapest> <Try make your trip before summer - J/July--A/Sept> And by the way, Congratulations! May Canada favour you and Family. Side Gist: Hurray to me!!! Joined the silent gang with a bang since 2017. In the space of time, i returned to get my M.Sc from NOUN for this mata. That's in the bag now, POF, ECA, IELTS to follow. i have learnt so much just by reading from several pages of endless question and enviable contributors. Finally unveiling myself today since about 30-40% requirement is achieved. Simulated CRS with max IELTS:::467 To our seniors/contributors...i say a very big thank you for keeping the thread alive, trust me, many have gained from this and yet, transforming many lives. PPR Testimony !!! New member (silent reader) If I had ten thousand tongues, it still wouldn't be enough, NAREKELE MO. Great is Thy faithfulness, morning by morning new mercies I see, all I have needed Thy hand hath provided. Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me God has remained faithful and gracious despite our short comings and unfaithfulness. He shows up at each our very point of need. I never used to fancy relocating abroad particularly Canada cos of the weather, but my husband has always been open to it, and whenever he brings up the topic i always brush it aside without giving it any consideration, because we were comfortable so why will I want to put myself through unnecessary stress? Sometimes late 2016, the company my husband was working with decided to leave Nigeria due to the economic recession and that was how the rug was pulled from under our feet. We were still managing well as we had opened a retail Pharmacy outlet just before the incident, but things kept getting tougher. Never heard of Canadian Express Entry until June 2018 when my husband's friend and colleague told us they've gotten Canada PR through the Express Entry and were relocating. They explained the whole process and we realized that we also stand a chance. So i was like if they can do it then we too can. So our journey begins, i was so gingered that i became the main champion of the whole process, my husband was like POF is too much (about 7M for a family of 4) as we had eaten deep into our savings trying to expand our business but this time I was the reassuring him that we can do it. I am the primary applicant due to age as we are both Pharmacist, I researched like i was doing a PhD thesis. Now if he asks how I'll cope with the cold (cos my tolerability to cold weather even AC is very low), my response now is people there don't have two heads , if they can survive the cold, i too will. At every step of the way, it has been God. We started the whole process with shishi in our account, saved for my ECA with PEBC from my meager salary (civil servant) and the little profit from the new business. We both read like "tomorrow no dey" for IELTS cos we know how we struggled for every kobo. We demolished IELTS like bulldozer and started rallying family and friends and within 1 week we raised about 4.5m. (A real miracle!). Due to worries that the value of Naira might crash the way it happened in 2015/2016, we opened a joint dorm a/c for the POF. I also added my PFA statement (25% of my RSA) as buffer, just in case. By December my husband's ECA was ready and so also was the POF (40% gift deed and the rest was Deed of sale for some properties). Now my ECA (from PEBC) was all that's standing between me and creating profile. Got my ECA on January 1st and the next day, we dived into the pool with CRS 452 as previously calculated ! A summary of our timeline: Decision to immigrate - June 2018 IELTS L9,R8,W7,S7.5 - September 8th 2018 (1st and only attempt) Spouse L7.5,R9,W7.5,S8 - September 8th 2018 (1st and only attempt) ECA Me (PEBC) - January 1st (Applied in July) Spouse (WES) - December 17th (applied in August) Created EE Profile - Jan 2nd 2019 CRS Score - 452 NOC 3131 ITA - Jan 10th 2019 AOR - Feb 15th 2019 MEP/BIL - Apr 2nd 2019 Biometrics Completed & Updated - Apr 4th 2019 IP1 (if there's still anything like that) - 7th May (Golden mail) PPR - 8 May 2019 FSW Outland VO - Accra No ADR Family of 4 No of days from AOR to PPR - 82days Stumbled upon this thread not too long ago while looking some info can't remember what exactly but kept coming back as Guest (wasn't a member of nairaland until recently) to read through cos i was sure of getting new information I never knew I needed. Thank you to everyone who asked question(s) and a special appreciation to ALL (not familiar with all the names) who took their time to answer and/or provided links. And to the profs that grades ppr script, hope i tried . It has indeed ended in Praise. 113 Likes 9 Shares |

Congratulations o on the quick one. I think NOC plays a part in speedy processing sometimes. But of course you also had to have diligently put together your application without any flaws. Good speed in Canada. Pharmbb: 6 Likes |
