GozyNA: This thing with ICAN is really annoying sha. ICAN won't count as an additional certificate for a bachelor's degree holder. ICAN still won't allow you convert directly to CPA in peace. What's now the use? Hmmmm.... |

It's PPR!!!! Timeline ITA 19th Sept 2018 AOR 17th November 2018 Medical passed 19th Dec 2018 Biometrics 20th Dec 2018 ADR 5th April 2019 IP2 8th May 2019 PPR 9th May 2019 Family of 3 Background I originally never wanted to go to Canada. I had friends who kept asking me to come over right from when I considered doing masters. But I wasn't too keen. Until 2017 when I got fed up with the Nigerian system. Honestly if you own a business in this country, the system can drive you mad. I got tired of all the demands of government without giving back. Anyway I initially thought the way forward was thru a PhD application to Canada, until all my applications were rejected then my ears finally opened to the gospel of express entry that was being preached. First step IELTS 1st attempt lrws 7.5,8,7.5,8 2nd attempt lrws 9879 Tip for ielts listening: I realised my problem when practising listening was zoning off in the middle of practice. I get distracted easily. So I had to learn to focus intently, started practicing listening tests with plenty background noise and reduced the volume of my headset. ECA I used Wes. It was really easy for me, had a foreign masters and school had option for Wes to access transcripts online so i didn't have to pay transcript fees, only the wes fee. So was ready in exactly 20days Hubby eca took a while but luckily transcript was sent just a week before the waec requirement was implemented. In fact it was just God cos we really needed the points and time was not on our side, we entered the pool early to avoid the tie breaking rule even though crs was under 440. Immediately hubby's Eca came out pushed crs to 445, draw was 441 19th Sept 2018 got ITA in the nick of time, my birthday was a few days after the draw. Medicals It was favor that got us an early date, we were initially booked for end of October but asked to be put on a waiting list in case an early date came up. Luckily it did. medicals finished early and decided to do pcc same day, met inspector moshood on the way in and asked him for directions to inspector moshood POF 100% gift deed from egbon. Work Experience It's complicated. I reached out to Newmum, she is amazing, helped review my loe and gave useful tips to help my situation. I used two Nocs. My primary Noc I had over 6years experience, 2+years as an employee, 3+ years as the business owner. It was previously family owned. Got a reference letter from a senior employee that worked in the business before I joined. Did an loe explaining my peculiar situation. Added tax payroll schedules from inland revenue that had my job title, wages, carried their stamps and on their letterhead to validate my work. Then added change of business ownership, CAC docs. My secondary NOC was the course I had my educational qualifications in, just over a year work experience. Got a reference letter in the required format from my previous employer. Post AOR It was then I learnt the true meaning of the word anxious. I checked profile like every hour of every day. I started thinking of all the things that may go wrong, maybe I didn't fill right etc. Was thinking by 3months I will get Ppr. After 3months raised cse for vo, when I saw Accra, I was sad for a week. Joined the accra what's app group and became encouraged. When April 2018 Aor is giving you hope then you know your case is a small matter. Got famous 5 adr Apr 5 and I knew my application was being worked on. Got a ghost update yesterday and ppr was waiting in my cic account today In all, I am grateful to God for seeing us through. All things work together for good for those who love God. It has worked out and I am grateful. Everytime I think about the challenges and stress involved in the journey, I remember those who don't even have this opportunity and I immediately stop complaining. To everyone at whatever stage you are don't give up and stay positive and thankful that you are on this journey. 69 Likes 1 Share |

Congratulations. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. It struck a chord. You sound very ready for your new life. All the best in Canada. Utonne: PPR!!!!!!!!!!
I took my time out to really write this out to encourage everyone on whatever part of the journey you’re at. Please READ, READ, READ. Read everything you literally can get your hands on. All the information needed is here and can be gotten through further research. It literally won’t kill you to. Be open-minded. Be flexible and adaptable to whatever situation you find yourself in. Anything can happen. CIC is a general unto itself Have something healthy to keep you going. Gym, Dance, work whatever. Just to get your mind off all of this. It really is pertinent you do Finally, if you feel strongly about this journey, GO FOR IT. Sometimes we get in the way of ourselves, we come up with excuses why and how not to. I delayed so much just by discouraging myself several times. It was either I was wondering where the funds were gonna come from or being mad that I wasn’t in my career path while looking out for NOC. There’s always gonna be something so you might as well just go for it. JUST DO IT. Don’t delay. Help just popped everywhere. Wes was paid by a friend, IELTS was paid by my colleague who encouraged me at the start just to give me a head-start, POF was given to me by mum and my application fees were paid by my bro. I only paid for my PCCs, Medicals, Passports, Notarization of Gift deed. The past 4 years have been the toughest and I’m really looking forward to a new life. I feel like this is my new lease on life and I’m seizing this opportunity to reinvent myself, go after my desired career path and dream job, making new friends and build new relationships. Please keep pushing whatever stage you’re at. God’s got you. Every day is a step closer to your dreams…..x

Good. Congrats! MumofTwins2017: ECA UPDATE. Hello House, i finally received a soft copy of my ECA from IQAS. It took approximately 6months. From November 12 to May 8. The best part is the satisfaction of seeing the assessment as a ‘first professional University Degree In Law’. My people, WES still isn’t out oo. I would have just waited time, money and less points waiting for WES. Thank you all for the wealth of Information, if not I wouldn’t have known about IQAS. Once my husband’s 2nd IELTS result comes out successful, we’ll be diving into the pool. It will definitely end in praise.. |

WeAreDLucky1s:
You certainly should book ONE WAY, except if you have plans of returning, probably what we call "Soft-Landing". Otherwise, stick with one way. The visa you have isn't tourist...lol
Though Return is usually cheaper, but if you do not have reason to return any time soon, you may just do away with it and stick to One Way.
Also according to records, you may consider::: OTHER TIPS::::regarding traveling
<Ethiopian Air, Egypt Air, if money isn't much of issue, Lufthansa> <you may also try booking via the app - cheaper> <use skyscanner.net for favourable searches> <play with dates for a month's time range> <Sunday and Tuesday seem to be cheapest> <Try make your trip before summer - J/July--A/Sept>
And by the way, Congratulations!
May Canada favour you and Family.

I have become worried following the rejection of @babybanke based on sibling relationship. My wife claimed sibling points cos she has 2 brothers in Canada. The documents submitted for sibling relationship were the birth certificate for her and her brother (Not from NPC) and international passport that shows the same surname.
We are worried that this might not be sufficient proof. What do you advice. Should we leave the application and wait for ADR if any or do we get the attestation of birth documents and raise a CSE for it?
Which do you think is better please advise
@Ifeo.ma77, @Raphlz, @Topsma.men, @ladyma.rshall, @joo 2018, @everybody. Please help
Thank you You're fine really. But if it will help you sleep well at night, get the attestation |

God bless you all. Nigeria is indeed blessed with leadership, but we only have a choice problem that's why we have square pegs in round holes. I want to thank Nairalanders for their support and also report my PPR , which I got since April 17th. I wanted to get my COPR before I report myself, but I have been bothered about flights and wondering if I and my wife will be allowed to book a one-way ticket to Canada, hence my decision to write sooner than I had anticipated. I will share my PPR journey/ story once I receive my COPR from Accra in about a week by God's grace. Thanks all, and please do help with my questions. Seniors in the house, did you book a one-way ticket or both ways? Congratulations!! Looking forward to the story. One way is the way 1 Like |

titibaby: I think we should be careful the way we advise people to explain everything clearly. The VO will understand. VOs are not is the business of go and sin no more o. They are trained to punish infractions. So while it is ok to declare, we need to be mindful how is presented.
Anyone with experience on explaining everything and still getting PPR should post.
The VOs are also smart enough to sniff out dodginess, obfuscation or pure lies. You know the issue with such situations? We never take the time to wear the VOs shoes. While you may think that you've cleverly manipulated the truth, yours is the 6000th such case that the VO is reading that week and he spots the truth instantly. I don't know about you but I'd be more favourably disposed to someone who is straightforward and apologetic than the one who is still trying to prove cunning 2 Likes |
