Mudicua nne, I don't have an answer to your question o. But like Sally, I also feel you should leave it until they ask for another SOA. Hopefully someone else can give a more useful answer.

I got admission to study nursing in Canada(fall 2019), I finished secondary school 2017,(science student), I spent 2018 applying for Canadian visa and it was refused based on financial reasons and purpose of travel... The visa officer said I didn't convince him/her that I'll return to my county after studies, however the admission letter I used last year was that of prenursing(the school said I met the requirements for nursing but there was no space so they gave me prenursing),which is one year duration. So i applied for nursing again this year(on time)Again I used a third party sponsor for that of last year. So my complete timeline for this year is:
Acceptance letter(nursing)
I want to pay full fees, don't know if it's advisable
Mum's my sponsor (her letter of sponsorship)
Dad is late
Her land and house docs
Birth certificate to show our relationship
Waec result (5as&4bs)
School testimonial
SOA of N5M(my school fees is approx $12350)
International passport & CIC docs
I'm 18 years
I forgot to add, I attached a LOE addressing the reasons for the refusal, my brother and I are the only ones under mum's care, and I also tried to explain the docs involved in my application
Please is this timeline okay, i dont want to make same mistake again, what should be added and what should be left out, school resumes September. Thanks.

In my own opinion, I think the history of the account is as important as the balance in it. Someone with 10m balance without a good flow is likely to get a refusal letter based on insufficient funds. If your sponsor's soa indeed has a good history or if she can prove the source of the funds, then I think 5m should be okay. I may be wrong o undecided Also, I think the fact that you were going for a prenursing was the reason for the purpose of visit thingy. So now that you are going for nursing, try to explain why you intend to study that abroad instead of staying back in Nigeria, and use your mom as a strong home tie. Explain that you have to come back home to take care of her since your dad is late; it's your obligation! (so sorry to hear about your dad). And erhmm maybe if she can gift you one of her lands and reserve it for your use at the completion of your program.
P.S I'm no guru, just an opinion

Lol. The person is my cousin and it's same fees. But I I'll still do something about it, maybe add more money, right?
Dera12345:
Really? Someone was approved with 4M SoA, same school and same program, though I will try to improve on it. Thanks.
I got a refusal letter,I addressed the refusal reasons based on the letter

What worked for Mr A might not work for Mr B, besides your application can’t be 100% the same with him/hers.. Have you wondered if the person have paid all his /her tuition fee and living expenses intact before submitting the 4M SOA, or even without paying if his/her tuition fee and living expenses is lesser than yours? so you don’t know what gave the person higher wings to fly over it.
I suggest you don’t take chances, just do something to the SOA and be on a safer side.

I'm not going for prenursing I'm going for Nursing. You probably didn't get me, last year I was offered prenursing because I applied late for admission,so seats were full. But this year,I applied on time and was offered nursing quote author=Qudkom post=78380364]
Hello, firstly nobody can give you a 100% assurance of what you need to submit. However I can tell you this;

1. If your approach didn't work the first time, then you shouldn't use it the 2nd.

2. You are going for an extremely expensive program in canada, assuming your mums dependents and all. It will be difficult convincing a VO of the long term support.

3. I don't know if you ordered a gcms note for the previous refusal. But I believe the "purpose of visit" needs to be tackled in a detailed loe together with why you are going for a prenursing program rather than a straight out enrollment into a bsc nursing program.

4. Your sponsors finance is a little weak. Considering a 4-5 year bsc program.
Oh sorry thought you meant prenursing. But either ways I think the soa is still a little low. Considering there is still 10kcad living expenses to account for. I hope you can amend that and don't forget the loe I mentioned.

Wow this is nice! I'll do just that. Thanks.

You mentioned someone applied with 4M and got visa for same program but please know that circumstances differ and flow of cash in SOA might influence VO's decisions.

Please note, GCMS not is very important but If you are pressed for time and cannot wait for GCMS note, this is what I will do. You are on track and your documents are good but please do the following;

(1) What does your mum do? Attach proof

(2) 5M is not enough - 12,000CAD + 10,000 is much more than 5M. I will get a second sponsor OR show that my mum has other sources of income and I will attach proof (does she have tenants?). Cash flow is important as well. I think I read it somewhere on this thread you have siblings...

(3) I will suggest you pay your fees but please check your school return policy before making payment.

(4) I will let my mother write a very good sponsorship letter and you proof read for errors (get someone to proof read for you). I personally suggest 500 words (1 page).

(5) I will write LOE detailing WHY I chose nursing. Please don't just write I have a passion for nursing but explain WHY you chose the course (Don't just say because you want to save lives, give an example or a short story), the benefits of this course to your short and long term goals and gaps this course can fill in Nigeria. Please get someone to proof read for errors when you are done. P.S your dad is late, so sorry about that. Did he die in a hospital ? That could be your story on why you decided to study Nursing.

You can do all of the above, submit by end of this month and hopefully get your visa before fall. Please if you cannot do all of the above before the end of this month, I suggest you defer till January and apply for your GCMS note so you can take your time to address all concerns.

The United States of America, just banned the use of drop box for visa renewal. Now you have to apply and wait. I just keep shaking my head to how far we've fallen. Every single year it gets harder and the requirements gets tougher. Nigeria is part of the top 10 countries that overstay their visa's in Usa/Canada.

To think there will be a general election in Canada this year gets me worried. I mean what if the immigration rules change! cry

So I did my medicals yesterday and all of a sudden my bp went up to 150/100. I guess it was due to stress added with that of traveling down to Lagos. I wasn’t ask to perform ECG test. Is this normal? Can I call to ask for test result?

Thanks a lot for this. How about having a ball of N5M after paying the fees? Is it cool?
My mum has tenants and houses but how do I prove this to them. Exactly,he died in a hospital!! You just gave me an inspiration

I did mine at IOM Abuja and they sent me a message saying that they had forwarded my test results to the Canadian embassy and that nothing was found wrong with me. I got the message the next day after my medicals. If you did yours at IOM, you should get a message.

Hello,

I have been accepted into humber for a one year certificate course.

My problem now is my proof of funds, I am currently employed but dont have the tuition 10k + 10k(survival funds) =20k saved up and I was thinking about a personal loan, I cant get educational because I'm not doing a degree)

I have two options:

1.Apply for the loan myself at the bank and have my brother cosign.(he will pay the monthly installments for me), maybe he can write a letter for immigration stating that he shall pay the installments until i return from my studies)

2. have my brother take the loan and then transfer + gift deed it to me.

my brother has less than 10k in his savings and like me doesnt have assets so the loan is my only option.

Thanks.
kcosam:

Why not get a sponsor or co sponsor with a strong SOA.
Do you think it can be misinterpretation if my brother takes loan and does gift deed, what if i need to cosign his loan?(well gift deeds dont need bank statements)

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

If after 4 working days you don’t see update in your account, then you can call them.

Qlife 3-4 working days
IOM 2 working days

The above is the maximum time it takes them to upload your result.

No matter how bad the conservatives feel about immigration, I don't think they will be in a hurry to change the immigration rules as it will do them more harm than good. With a land mass the size of America and a population of 35 million (compared to 350 million in America), they've got socioeconomic challenges that immigration can help them solve.

Maybe five years from now they might consider an immigration policy review.

So sorry about your friends Study Permit denial. Please tell him/her to stay strong and that it’s not a denial until he or she quits. Also tell him/her to apply for GCMS note immediately to know the exact reason/s for the denial. The gurus in the house will sure help.

Please did he/she apply from Nigeria? Kindly share the applications time line.
