Thank you very much. MUN has MENG and graduate diploma. I don’t know if I should go ahead with graduate diploma application since it’s a graduate program. I don’t need know if it belongs to the category of diplomas that VO don’t give approval for.

I’ll check Humber college.

A Canadian Graduate Diploma which is mostly 1yr is equivalent to a 1yr Masters of most countries esp that of UK.

A graduate Diploma is higher than a Diploma. I will advise you to opt for MUN than Number because of the cheap tuition fees and he "could" transfer to a Masters after a while in the program but this happens on "rare cases."

Please How are you guys filling the cic forms? I don download adobe acrobat DC tire. Once i open the document it shows " This document enabled extended features of in Adobe Acrobat Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available. please contact the author for the original version of this document". When i click okay and the document opens with red boarders on the forms filled I can't fill it. when i click fill & sign or edit text it takes me to a page to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC which is a paid version and says it's not available in my country(Nigeria)

Use Internet Explorer computer browser to open, fill, validate and save it. I use version 11, and it works fine even without Internet access

Hi guys,

Good morning.

Please I have a couple of questions.

I am currently living in Canada as a PR and I intend to apply for a post graduate program for my brother. He graduated with Second Class, Lower Division (CGPA of 2.8 ) from Mechanical Engineering, but his last 2 years CGPA was 3.6 (I heard it matters).

1. Please guys I intend to apply for MEng or Graduate certificate program for him. Which one is he likely to be accepted in considering his CGPA.

2. Also, all things being equal, do people going for graduate certificate program usually get visa approval?

3. Please if you could also give me suggestions on schools that are less competitive, that he will likely be accepted into without too much hassle, I would be overjoyed.

I am glad to answer any question in regards to Express Entry.

Thank you so very much.
my brother this is not to discourage you but to enlighten you though our luck might be different but I hve to be explicit with that cgpa it might be difficult even the not so big names institution admissions dere re competitive. I applied to five universities none gave me admission with a total cgpa of 3.68 and last two years cgpa 3.88. So by best advise is to look for technical colleges since u studied engineering that has a two year co op program, once you are done and by God's grace u start working u can then apply for a masters degree if u re still interested or go for certification program for ur course thank you.

Difficult to say because normally, the CIC account is supposed to provide real time update. If we are to follow that, then it means your passport just got stamped with your visa today and would soon be sent to the VFS office but don't be surprised maybe they stamped your passport since Monday and the system just updated it today grin

If VFS is not far from your house, you should pay them a visit on Monday afternoon.

One important factor to consider while applying to schools is to meticulously read the admission requirements. Another thing is to meet those requirements. Career/course progression ,i.e if previous study is related to the prospective program, also plays a role in school admission.

I applied at Mun with a cgpa of 3.80,mechanical engrg. for oil and gas engineering , they declined with the reason of competitiveness amidst meeting all the requirements for admission, after much email exchanges with reasons that I should be considered, if fell on deaf ears instead they suggested two other programs for me. I had to go back to drawing board, worked on my sop, other prerequisites and re-fired, so was accepted afterwards.
Your SOP plays a vital role as much as your long term and short term goals. We have to be courteous while arranging our application documents.
I'm still wondering why someone would be rejected of Five, like FIVE applications in different schools. haba

That one even pass village sef, dem no reach abeg.
