Why does it perplex you? The gun industry has a very strong lobby. It's all about the money, it's not about ethics. And it has never been about lives. The moment a child is born, Republicans could not care less. No maternity leave. Diminished health care. Underfunded schools. Stop playing dumb. Their mothers made a choice to have and keep a baby. The keyword is choice. If she choose not to have a baby, no one else should force her to have one. A baby should not be used as a tool for punishing women for religious or moral sin (as believed by others).

It seems hypocrisy is hardwired into the DNA of conservatives. The same people that are prolife becomes prodeath when it comes to death penalty. The same people that are anti-gay marriage support or condone child marriage. The same people that condemn liquor based on religious grounds are the highest consumers of liquor. Here in Nigeria during the Ramadan fast, most beer parlour is usually empty, but returns to full swing once Ramadan us over, meanwhile alcohol is taboo according to Islam.
