This is cute,

Her walk sef x sexy grin grin grin

The walk was about d hardest thing to animate. And d shot with all three was the last I did, giving me a go ahead, dat I can proceed to d next stage and maybe d final.

I've come up with a new story and on lip syncing. Afterwards, d fun part. CGI MUST stand in Naija. And I greet u too for all d jobs well done.

Hi. Hmmm let's start with your questions.
Currently, I'm on an HP i7 6gigvram 320Hd and 3 extra external drives of higher capacity. d drive came with d PC dats y it's still there. will change it soon plus would upgrade to probly a 12gigvram by nxt mth or so wen I intend to go serious on CGI. it also has a gig graphics card. I think it's useless tho.

I learnt on my own from scratch and has taken me around 7yrs of everyday learning. it's tough and learning how to animate has very less support and difficult.

I see Udemy online but I dunno what they r capable of. Unless they r digital tutors or something like dat, then u have my nod.

Creating series of Animation is good. that's where I'm headed now and more. So nice thinking but for a newbie as u say u are, I'll advice u take ur eyes of money and mocap. Go through it d hardest way u can. Reason is, if u drill yourself very well, you will b limitless when it comes to creating anything. Or almost anything. Your dependency on Mocap will be at a minimum and you'll be more confident and independent. Plus d more money you are bound to make.

You have to be extremely patient, persistent and disciplined. With focus been d the watchword. Animation is tough, especially when you are looking at it from d point of a global scale. A lot here, have tried. A lot also have fallen. Animation is a jealous Discipline.

These are my advices.
Thanks for this reply, I appreciate, but they're things you didn't mention like your graphics card and dedicated graphics mem.

7yrs is not 7days shocked

I'm not in for the money though, I always loved animation, but I had no idea I could do it, been watching cartoons all my life.

I don't know what mocap is

I will have patience since I'll be doing something I love doing.

Thanks again.

VRAM is graphics card. I have a 1gig Nvidia.
Keep away from Mocap for now.
That's 7yrs of full dedication to Animation with 95℅ of your social life cut off. And there are still other aspects that I've not majored on.
Yes, it's gud u r not doing it for money right now. it will eventually pay in d future if u really get to master it. Eventually, you'll need money. As a matter of fact, that could be what would stop you from learning at all. These are some of d huddles u need to cross. Don not be afraid. This in a way, will help you prepare yourself for what is to come.

Thanks alot man I guess I'll have to buy courses, because I'm willing to sacrifice to learn this, I don't know if I'll be able to make money off it in life, I just like it that's all.

lol if you want to be a good animator , stay off mocap and learn how to animate using keyframes ...with that you will grasp a better understanding of the animation principles ..... Mocap is motion capture where movements are recorded using a motion capture device and brought into a 3D software . No matter the amount of mocap you use you still need an animator with strong skills to work on that . That's if your focus is on animation by the way. And also just a little advice , get your mind off a short film for now and focus on the basics and perfecting them , the key to a good animation is when you can implement the 12 principles in it , that's an advice a Pixar animator told me , he told me to start with a bouncing ball ... And I'm glad I did , because you will understand so many things with just a bouncing ball especially timing and spacing which animation is really all about

It's really a long way to go but it's a journey I'm willing to make, I'll follow this thread, hope I'm welcome if I have more questions?

Ofcourse, that's y I'm here. Just be diligent in your dealings with animation and soon, it will begin to make sense.

Ok, still on animation and proceeding. I've recorded a track on my fone intended fory nxt shot dats about two minutes long but will have to break it into 30secs or a minute each. I intend to make it a short series becuz the work inside too plenty.
I've done a third of d voicing afterwards, I'll be animating the gestures. As usual, my old models would be featuring in dis series and I've come to see dat I do not have enough morph targets like I'm supposed to have but it's ok. I'll manage. So far, everything is coming out as expected. Will keep u guys posted as progress is made.
Re: My Animation Reidvolution by reidkrugger(m): 4:21pm On May 25, 2019
So I began animating d wordings and some gestures. It came out faster than I expected and was coming well too as I envisaged but on getting to d body, I found out dat it was a waste of time for me. If I'd acted it out in one go or had a story board then it would have been smooth animation all d way. But now, it would seem like I've over animated. Soooooo, I'll be using d body as a guide and place d facial expressions where matters.
Also, I'm thinking of feeding it into live action footage but dat decision still far small. Anyways, the WIP images.

My eyes are swollen from a short nap and on waking up, even as satisfying as d nap was, I find it difficult to power my laptop. Anyways, I'm almost done with the first part of the short series and it's about 40secs long, so I meet Tonto's standard for a real man. Ok, so almost fully animated and I'm thinking about adding live action to it or not. I WILL RENDER IN 3DSMAX SCANLINE.
Yeah, so at a time, my machine started slowing down and ridiculously too. I'd uninstalled so many programs and shifted many more other things to my external HD but problem didn't solve. Did a lot of recoveries but no. Then I changed the system resolution and voila... I'm a happy man again. System running like a Shelby/Mustang with the power of a Benz or BMW.
Ok, one advice. As a newbie, a 16gig and lots of graphic card would be great. But these things don't come cheap. Besides, you won't do anything fantastic within the next one or two years of your enrollment into 3D so don't kill yourself out you can't afford it. But that doesn't mean, you can't create stunning works. It's all about polycount. The system, no matter how great it is can't help you much creatively, unless visually and in terms of power. But when you begin 3D as a newbie, all you'll ever need is to develop your skills. You beat the beginner level and intermediate, then you can begin talking systems. Go at it now that you are still young and can be tolerated for very soon, it would be a lot tougher and your mind will be occupied with a lot of other NECESSARY stuffs that could eventually lead to dream abandonment. For the older folks that still want to get into 3D, I dof. Go into it with a resolute mind but be weary of finance. Pikin go chop o and bottles must fall once in a while. Wardrobe sef go smile. Be reasonable with your decisions. 3D gulps time and time is money. You can't have them both if you are a learner. Godspeed.

MHZ or GHZ? Thanks, I'll find out how corei7 sums up to 48 CUDA cores. What's the make and model or a custom built?

So, I'm done animating but not clear how the background should be. But I definitely used d SCANLINE and what do u know? it didn't turn out dat bad at all. I've come to understand a bit of lightning. u understand lighting, u can render.
This first part is about 40something seconds long. I managed to finish animating it and I'm trying to see if there's any where I can add more Animations before I hands off. So far, no.
Anyways, here are some rendered images from a test render I'm up to. I'll see if I can improve on it.

Sorry for the late reply. I looked at the screenshot you shared above and noticed title bar, it's Nvidia graphics ish.

Summarily, CUDA cores is GPU not CPU. Your CPU cores may be 5 - 7, but your GPU (CUDA) is 48

I have rendered all there is to render and have coupled the pieces together for a long time now. say about three weeks or so. Maybe two. And only began putting them together this morning.
So, here is how dis works. I'll drop d last job I did here and take a commercial break. When i come back, I'll talk about d challenges and what I would have done differently.
I've also taken to Photoshop to brush my knowledge on it a little more, all in preparation for construction and more realistic materials when d need arises. So, for now, Photoshop is it.

Reidkrugger am so glad that we have people like you in Nigeria. I have finally ventured into animation and God this is not easy. And the worst part is that I am in this all by myself. Please I need your tutorship and that of anyone in who has gone far in this field.

That's a nice job.. I am more of a live footage guy. I love to make 3d objects interact with live footage..
After taking a sample shot of this environment, I made a sink hole and tracked it.. I will upload the video pretty soon..
Below is the before and after screenshot of it..

I'm still learning , but it took me a long while to get to where I am because i.learnt on my own I was mainly learning by trial and error and a whole lot of studying YouTube tutorials , asking questions ( the animation community is very supportive , you will always find someone to answer your question ) and also just studying other people's work . If you are a newbie , like I stated earlier start with a bouncing ball , don't jump into the acting shot because you will get frustrated easily , that's the advice I've gotten from people working at Pixar , Disney and DreamWorks .
