@Tlontin and @Optimusprime22
I really thank you both for your response. I don't have any software engineering related experience but the courses I did during my B. Eng undergraduate studies met some of the prerequisite for the software Engineering program, that's why they gave me the admission. And it was stated in their website that the program is also for professionals desire to make a career change to Software Engineering. Does it make sense to alight the my last point on my SOP for the visa
You need to make research on how they correlate and explain it clearly in your sop, also stating how it is a progression of career and a prerequisite. or else you might get denied based on purpose of visit.

Does anybody have information about Centennial college. I applied for their PGD course in software Engineering Technology. I just got a mail from them to pay 2300 Canadian dollars to secure my admission dpot and go forward to process my visa. Please who has applied to this school before. I am a newbie on this thread and I have B. Eng. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. I need assistance with what to do next ; even if it is just directing me to a portinon of the thread to read I will still appreciate it.

It is a normal practice to get a conditional acceptance letter from them, after which you meet the conditions which could be paying a deposit, request for additional documents etc. So once you've familiarised yourself with the refund policy of the school. Pay the deposit and get your letter of acceptance which you're going to use to process your visa application.

Good morning everyone here. Pls I need clarification for these:
1. What does it mean " your application is considered non routine"
2. Eligibility and background check started same day, how long will it take for medical request to come up after start of eligibility review.
3. What makes an application be submitted to further verifications
4. Straight approval without medical, how possible?
Thanks

I thought I just replied you via mail...I dont know about no1.

for no2, from Wat u told me, your application is still less than a month old, eligibility review and background takes time which we don't know how long cos each application is treated differently..

No 3, depends on if there's a doc u submitted that the vo isn't so sure about especially the bank statements.. but u wouldn't know and they won't tell u...

No 4, not possible...

Your timeline is similar to mine only that mine is a re-application. It's been three weeks since the BMC mail was received. Most people got a refusal the same day or few days after the BMC mail. The delay in response is what I just can't comprehend. If your intended DLI has already resumed, then I'd advise that you defer to a new resumption date while you await their response
Vickglam:
Timeline
Visa application 2April
Online
Biometric done 4april
Biometric correspondence 2may

Up till now I have not heard from them, abeg any hope that I will receive medical request after this correspondence biometric letter , because I wanted to even withdraw my application or if they send medical request and I don’t go for the medicals, will they deny me? Pls your response will be highly appreciated, thanks

before I accept this, I have to be honest with u...sending your sop to me, i might read and find it convincing and good for submission but the vo might not feel the same... I say this considering how delicate, important and essential your sop is in your application because that's your mouth piece and ticket to either an approval or denial...therefore, am not an agent or guru that can assure u, u will get an approval... but you can send...

Please for those writing sops, you need your sop to be in bullet form with each talking about a certain aspect...
no1 should start with your introduction/background...you full name, date of birth, where you are from, name of your family...where they are from....i see sops with no introductions, no format...just go straight to I am dis, I did this here, I have certificate in this, bla bla bla...thats why vo use vague cos it's vague.

No 2, talk about why you are doing so so course...this is where you try to align your previous degree with wat your intended course, pick some courses in your final year or 3rd year to align with it. Also here is where u talk about your experience, what you have been doing after your degree that pushed u to wanna do so so course. This is where u need to be very very very CONVINCING. Spend more time here than any other place...

No3 and 4, should talk about why canada and why so so school... Google can do that for u...

No5 should be titled Travel history.. here even if u have not left naija before since you were born..you just tell the vo, you haven't been opportune to travel outside of Nigeria before but I have had the chance to travel to (name all the states you have gone to), which gave me the opportunity to experience different cultures and traditions, visit different places. Each time I travelled,I always respected and obeyed the laws, rules and regulationsof the state/country and always returned home because there's no place like home (Nigeria/state).

No 6, the home ties... here pls try to list all the full names of your family and their respective date of birth starting from your dad wat he does, to the last person in the family where all of you are from again. This saves the vo time to start checking for their birth certificates...

Finally, Your plans after studies, this is where you need to actually show you have a plan or something that you tend to offer to Nigeria wen you return (new ideas to improve the economy or employment for people, it can be anything so long it's realistic and possible). This aspect actually helps you to avoid purpose of visit in a way....

If you noticed I didn't include anything concerning how much I have in my account or my sponors cos I believe as long as I submitted a bank statement the vo should look at it there...this avoids the vo focusing so much on how much I am making or have...

Others might have done something different (sops) and got their approvals, but this is how I did mine..you might find it risky, you might not but it worked for me.. also try to grow the habit of praying cos that's the juju you have over the vo...
