Arosam: Too much of it is not advisable. It would affect your coherence. A little is ok. If you can, try to speak slowly and collect your thoughts. I was asked a question during my speaking test, I couldn't answer. I froze. Literally didnt say a damn word. The examiner just moved to the next question. But this happened only once. Still got a 7.5. 6 Likes |

Please house I need your help. I want to begin my ECA and write my Ielts but I'm quite confused as I don't know if I should use my maiden name or my married name in filling the forms because I'm in the process of getting a divorce and my passport bears my married name. I don't know if I should wait till the divorce is finalized and get a new passport with my maiden name before applying for an ECA and write my ielts or I should go ahead with my married name for both of them. won't it cause any discrepancies in my EE forms? Thanks all. |

Sedehomon: Hi, I would advice to stick with your maiden name for now. Wes actually doesn't even need your passport, just your documents. When filling express entry, you can now use a letter of explanation and affidavit of one and same person if still bearing your husband's surname. And upload divorce certificate when its finally completed. 2 Likes |

Practice listening with this youtube channel. Do not pause the video even if you missed what was said. Mirror the exam conditions when practicing.. ie: if your test center uses headphones, use them when practicing, if they don't then don't. Time yourself etc. After several videos, you'll start to notice the pattern and how the answers are revealed. Listening mostly requires practice. Please do not neglect other modules as you study for listening, the other modules might suffer if you do this. Prepare as you did before, the only difference this time is that you have a better source to prepare for Listening. Good luck! Losami: 5 Likes 4 Shares |

You can proceed with the following; IELTS Document gathering POF Passport (if expired/expiring soon) LOE outline/format etc Here is what I did for my application Create a folder on your computer for all your documents. Main Folder - Eg: Express Entry 2019. Then create the following sub-folders; 1. Digital Photograph 2. Education Documents 3. Employment Documents 4. Letter of Explanation 5. Marriage certificate 6. Medical certificate 7. Passport 8. Police certificate 9. Proof of funds For married people, create two other folders within each folder. Eg: 1. Digital Photographs Primary Applicant's Name Spouse's Name There have been cases where people upload the wrong document. Eg: Marriage certificate where Passport should be etc. To avoid this, try saving all your documents like this; In this example, the applicant's name is Thanos Education_UNILAG_BSC_Thanos I hope this helps. Good luck with everything! ThePath: 34 Likes 26 Shares |

Here is a tip for reading. Don't read to digest everything. Skim through it. The answers typically follow a pattern. You can read breeze through the questions and and skim the passage to find the answers. If you practice this well enough, you will more than enough time to read the entire thing at least twice and possibly have time to spare. I used this youtube channel to prepare but I understand the some people require/prefer other materials. I just find them overwhelming. Someone posted that they had several IELTS materials, perhaps you could email them. If I find the poster, I will update this post with their name. All the best! Trizadove: 4 Likes 6 Shares |

May I ask why 6 months? Are you saying it'd take 6 months for you to get money from family or you are thinking the money needs to be in your account for 6 months? If it is the latter, then you are good to go. The money can be in your account anytime before you submit. It is a gift deed so you should be good to go. Don't be nervous, go ahead and dive into the pool, the water is warm and it is a beautiful day to go for a swim Aigbemare: 17 Likes |

Your first name and middle go in the first box. I think it is called "Given Name". If you click on the question mark thingy, you'd see that is specifies the inclusion of your middle name. charlione: 2 Likes |

Losami: For my listening exam I used only the Cambridge exam series and ieltsbuddy.com. Ensure that you follow the instructions strictly as they can be easily misunderstood. Practice, practice and practice until you score over 37 serially. As in practice to the point where you cant get below a 37 and you are sure to ace the listening exam. All the best. 1 Like |

Haha!!! Kilode Na so part 7 run sote, before long part 8 don reach 66 pages. I decided to catch up the last page tonight by force. I'm a silent reader but I will like to use this space to thank the beautiful people that have made this thread resourceful, accommodating and encouraging. I use to assume nairaland is a forum where my country people insult one another without caution but that perception changed when I found this thread. Thank you all. My wife is the PA and we are working toward max scores for ielts. This is the third attempt and will be the last by God's grace. I hope to be back here soon to share our testimony. Sedehomon:If you intend to use the passport bearing your ex-husband's name for the entire EE process, then I'll advise you use it for your ECA as well but if you plan to get a new passport with your maiden name, then use that for WES. True that WES doesn't require your passport but for the sake of the entire process, uniformity is what I'll advise. 1 Like |

Congrats to those who have gotten PPR and aced IELTS in this part. Good morning house,we may have friends /colleagues who have issues with WAEC verification ;this is a simple way to do it : Ask the person to buy a WAEC scratch card, then go on WAEC website to view his result. He should then save his result in PDF format and scan to WES via Hellofax (same way certificates are sent).Importantly,he should download the WAEC verification form on his profile (via WES website) and fill same by inputting the scratch card pin/details on the form .WES will use that to verify and his WAEC will be acknowledged within few days. He needs not to pay a dime to anyone. I hope this will be helpful to someone. 36 Likes 24 Shares |
