Hi, I just join this Canada forum and I am a looking forward to my success stories too like those in the Canada winning squad here.

I am very new and I will appreciate if someone can guide me through. I finished NYSC October 2018 and I am looking forward to try this out too. I have learned one or two things here.

Is IELTS the first thing to do? How many months of preparation do I need to be fit for this exam and pass?

I can see some people having 6.5 in just one part and pass every other parts very well but still lament that they failed. Is there a minimum pass mark for each Test

Thanks for your help. Favor will locate us all

Lol, and who is shooting herself in the foot. Did I mention you are to pay money anywhere? I assisted a friend last week following this process and it was accepted. Please if my post isn't useful to you, you can skip it.The process of using Hellofax to send certificates to WES was initiated by someone and today, almost everyone uses it. Just don't attack me or are you one of those agents collectiwng money from people to send their WAEC to WES ?

Did you see the earlier screenshot I attached?

The lady sent her documents in Feb, it got to Wes In march. It was received and acknowledged and was being reviewed.
Just yesterday, they sent her a mail that her result was rejected because it wasn't sent from waec. Feb to May is four months. Now she may start afresh.

Yes I assist people who are not in Lagos Or even in Lagos to process their
Transcript. I have a contact who is a senior staff at WAEC and I can say I am quite knowledgeable on this. She has always told me warn people doing that.

PS, the money Is going to WAEC and not any individual/agent as you stated.

I wish you all the best bro. We no dey drag anything OK. Sha let us know when the final evaluation is done.

Cheers.

No, this is not for transcript. The transcript has to be sent by WAEC. I am suggesting it would be better to fax your scratch card details to WES via hello fax instead of spending money and time on courier service.

Then I will prefer @Avidreader's option of buying the card, giving it to Waec so they send alongside the trascript

Avidreader748:

Do you mean verifying the result after the confirmation has been sent?

There is confirmation of result.(done by the appropriate body as seen in the screenshot above)

And there is verification of result.( you can do this by yourself, but why do it when you can send it alongside the result.)

Please clarify the one you did yourself.

The process I outlined was what I used for my friend. After viewing the WAEC result online, saving in PDF and sending via Hellofax, I downloaded the WAEC e-pin scratch card form and filled in the scratch card details .The form was also sent separately. His status now reads: All documents received ;you're not to do anything at this time.

Shey na crime to share information again grin?

No Boss I just felt its easier to just buy the card give to waec to send alongside with the result and save yourself stress.

I swear this is "mein diebstahl", cos I was thinking the exact same thing. The fact that Maple land is an "ice box belt" is something that is relatively easy to tackle, given as you can always get used to it in time, However, with regards to the Tax, e le yin gidi gan!!! Makes it substantially difficult to share the "quality of life" with folks back home, which I believe is the principal motivation of most of us here.

This is very true, same thing happened to me, tho in my case I was muttering gibberish & she put me out of my misery by moving on to the next question... It didn't happen again & I got 7.5. Speaking is really no biggie,
Just make sure you gather your thoughts, preferably voicing those thoughts out to the logical extent possible. I remember a question I was asked, loosely on genius & hardwork, I simply said "That's a good question, I've never really thought about it in this way before, but since you're asking............." It bought me time to gather my thoughts, also, it's a better substitute to"ehm" & long pauses.
MrPein:

Too much of it is not advisable. It would affect your coherence. A little is ok. If you can, try to speak slowly and collect your thoughts.

I was asked a question during my speaking test, I couldn't answer. I froze. Literally didnt say a damn word. The examiner just moved to the next question. But this happened only once. Still got a 7.5.

Not a great linker but it was stated in part seven.

There is a tutorial center in Surulere I think they pay 50k. New horizon. I see a new horizon at Lekki phase one just by the gate there. I don't know if they offer tutorials as well.

The exam is about 76k. Not sure again.

I am sure someone would assist you soon.

No, you don't have to. I travelled quite a lot post AOR and didn't inform CIC. Many others have done same.

However, if you are moving to another country, you do have to inform them of your change in address.

Please what if it’s just another city within Nigeria? Like relocating from Abuja to PH? Do they need to be informed?

How do I sign up? This IELTS writing matter is becoming an embarrassment for me because I am a Communications/Web Specialist and writing is a major part of my work. My 1st attempt: L - 8.5 R - 9 S - 8.5 W - 6.5. 2nd attempt: L - 9 R - 9 S - 8 W - 6.5
In my view, there's something you are not paying attention to. Familiarize yourself with IELTS languages, style, do's and don't. You are very close to acing it. I'm sure the professors in the house would help you out.

Please are you sure this is helpful?

Someone forwarded a case to me last night, her waec was rejected because it wasn't sent from waec. Her documents got to wes in March and was accepted. After review, she was asked to go to the proper bodies to send the documents.

Please let's be careful in dishing out advise so people don't waste time and money.

Don't shoot yourself in the foot abeg.

I think he is talking about secondary verification.

Please house I need your help.
I want to begin my ECA and write my Ielts but I'm quite confused as I don't know if I should use my maiden name or my married name in filling the forms because I'm in the process of getting a divorce and my passport bears my married name. I don't know if I should wait till the divorce is finalized and get a new passport with my maiden name before applying for an ECA and write my ielts or I should go ahead with my married name for both of them.
won't it cause any discrepancies in my EE forms?

Thanks all.

Like as been noted, you don't need to wait 6 months if you are using a gift deed.

Aigbemare:
Good evening everyone!
Silent reader here *waves*

I'm so happy and thankful to everyone that has shared their stories and contributed to this thread. I've really learnt a lot. kiss

Been interested in doing EE for a while now but kept stalling because of POF and all the monies here and there. I sha finally started the process, even if na jeje I go do am.
Did my ECA with WES last year.
Just got my IELTS results LRWS 8,7.5,7.5,7.5.
Checked what my CRS score might be and it's looking like 453.
Tbh I'm a little nervous about applying now cause I'm yet to get my POF ready. Most likely will get support from family but I don't wish to wait for 6mths and I'm wondering what other sure options I can take instead of a gift deed.
Any suggestion would be massively appreciated.
