The laws of this country make it a crime to benefit from the procceds of stolen property.

If someone stole your money, and used it to buy gifts for his or her mother, and the police traced them, would you be that forgiving.??

As a Christian and Man of God, I will. What's 180M compared to what God has in stock for him.

grin

That's the same way they cajole people. Now am serving it back

So the school fees paid by students (which you people love to criticize) should end up in the pocket of that IT guru's pocket?

Let God judge him. He should read his Bible and approach matter biblically.

Why use force when you serve a living God.

Most Nigerians are guilty of this. How can a son whose salary is say, N150,000 is flaunting wealth and their parents didn't ask "how come, son?".

You see boys of 25yrs driving Mercedes Benz GLE 400 but no known job and their parents " enjoy" their wealth without asking questions.

In our days, if you behave like that, your father will report you to the authorities.

Exactly, because the parent know that if alarm blow, its going to be their problem too and would mess up the family name. But who care these days, just a few parents.

Well, the 180M was school fees money stolen not from Oyedepo, but from people who worked hard for the money, and used it to pay their kids fees at covenant university.

Fees which are high because the university has zero government funding, and staff must be paid at the level of the Federal universites.

Now, I think that Word Faith Ministers are all 'fake'....but even then, this was money that was not going to Oyedepo's pockets but to the University.

You may laugh at him for not being 'Christian' enough....but this your idea of forgiveness...where a known thief gets to keep money stolen, no strings attached, because he must be forgiven...is strange...especially as he would be free to steal again.

We are suffering in this country because since independence, too many people have been forgiven for stealing money. Time we started enforcing the Law. Something which the Bible fully endorses.

Is it not tithe and offering that built it. It belongs to the chruch and every member is a stakeholder of the university as in one-way or the other, a penny from their pocket contributed to it.

CU was built in the foundation of Gods doings and what ever decisions made should be godly.

N180m Covenant University fraud: Drama as suspect’s mother resists recovery of vehicle

Our Reporter by Our Reporter June 1, 2019

THE last is yet to be heard in the case of N180 million allegedly pilfered from the purse of the Covenant University, Otta, by a guru in its IT unit. There are indications that more people will be picked up in connection with the fraud.

Already, assorted cars have been recovered from the suspect, including one from his mother’s house in Otta.

But the recovery of the exotic car was not without some drama as the woman was said to have resisted the release of the car, saying she could not understand why an outsider would demand the release of a car her son bought for her.

The poor woman was said to have been particularly miffed that an institution with a religious background would be involved in the effort to strip her of her God-given property, saying that the joy of every mother is to enjoy the fruits of her womb.

But officials of the EFCC would have none of her homilies and have since taken the vehicle away as the anti-graft agency continues its effort to recover the loot.

It's a religious setting. So that won't happen. But everyone who contributed to the edifice is a shareholder one way or the other.

Wasn't the money that built that piece received from people as tithe and offering.

if someone steals from his place of work and uses it to give tithe and sow seeds in church hope oyedepo will give the company their money back when they come for it too.
