My problem with this country in its entirety is our approach to everything. The only approach we have is sentiment, sentiment and sentiment and nothing more. That's what CAN has been thriving on over the years, remove sentiment and there's no CAN.

Looking at issues in its whole, we don't. Good luck Jonathan had attended the summit during his days as president. If it were islamization, he wouldn't have attended the summit. https://www.legit.ng/1241364-flashback-goodluck-jonathan-attends-oic-summit-cairo-2013.html

Same with Islamic banking issues and the controversies CAN created around it, today the highest number of Jaiz bank customers are Christians most especially Igbos, these Christians have been benefitting hugely from the operations of Islamic banking system compared to conventional banking system.

Same with SUKUK bonds that have been used in developing infrastructures around the country.

My only question is when will CAN stop pulling us down as a country? Does CAN hate us this much that it must be sentimental about everything? We as a people are thinking of a way forward looking at latest convention in solving problems internationally, the only thing CAN is preoccupied with is SENTIMENTS.

In this just concluded National elections, we were filtering our options, trying to see the best fits for different positions, the only thing CAN preoccupied itself with was SENTIMENTS, Christian emerged all governors of the Southwestern states nobody raised an eyebrow, lets just assume it was the other way round? It would have a hell of controversies and incitements.

This same CAN campaigned against APC because it is an "islamic party" but still seek Christian senate president and speaker in the so called "Islamic party" based on what argument? Their argument wasn't based on performance nor competence but "sentiment".

I hope we can all change our outlooks to issues in the country and individual localities so that we can learn to have the world "culture" attitudes, learn what works in the international arena for our development.

Remember when the catholic church pull out of CAN at the centre in 2012 or so on ground that it current leadership already betrayed the spirit of its founding founders, they were called names. President Goodluck Jonathan Arrived Cairo, Egypt Wednesday to attend The 12th Session Of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

President Jonathan will witness the opening ceremony and later depart for the UK, where he will confer with P.M. David Cameron and attend Friday, the inauguration of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s foundation in London.

Jonathan arrives Cairo for OIC summit

It’s so unfortunate that we now have so much bunkum head Nigerians. Wouldn’t it be better for Jonathan to go attend this oic meeting for once as a Christian leader so that the larger Christian society can be well fed with what is actually happening in that oic. Look at how myopic some Christians have become. Jonathan is miles ahead of everyone of you. If has technocrats surrounding him not sycophants like some block headed Christian like you Styrofoam commenting. Give this man a chance and you will find out Nigeria will be better.

Fun fact:

Who canceled the plan to make Nigeria a member of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) as a Military Head of State?

Yes, Buhari did. He did on the ground that Nigeria was a secular country.

IBB came and proceeded to register us as a member of the OIC.

The Media became blind.

CAN became blind.

Every President since IBB continued in that direction. The last time our President attended the meeting of the OIC was when GEJ attended the one that held in Egypt.

The Media outlets were still blind.

CAN's President was Ayo Oritsejafor and he was one of the closest people to GEJ, and yet CAN remained blind. They did not see an Islamization agenda.

But today they want to tell you that Buhari's attendance is unconstitutional.

Your job is to ask them to tell you at what point it became unconstitutional.

Your job as a citizen is to ask them why they've been blind to this Islamization agenda for nearly 30 years.

Your job is to ask them why they have conveniently forgotten that this Buhari is the same person who tried to prevent Nigeria from joining the OIC.

Cc: juni Emmanuel

Good post, however CAN did make a lot of noise back when we joined the OIC in 1986. IBB took a lot of heat from CAN from that.

And yes, Buhari did cancel Nigerian attempts to join OIC when he was military head of state. Very interesting fact.

Did CAN ever say anything when Oritsajafor & Jonathan were engaging in gun running with a plane owned by Oritsajafor himself ? Where was CAN when Jonathan was going from one church to another for political campaign in 2015 ? Where was CAN when Jonathan & Oritsajafor were going to Jerusalem over 2015 general election? Did CAN say anything when Obasanjo & Atiku were using public fund to build universities ? Did CAN say anything when Oyedepo was defrauding Nigerians through waivers & tariffs. CAN lost its relevance since when the gun runner, Oritsajafor hijacked the organization from Onaiyekan. Obasanjo' s statement on Islamisation was to cause confusion among Nigerians in order to cover his loots. Who has ever complained among Muslims when Bibles are openly distributed even to Muslims in hospitals, hotels & other public places. CAN & PDP are now becoming synonymous. CAN has never seen anything wrong in grand corruption going on in the country because their billionaire pastors are benefitting immencely from it. CAN should stop trying to be fanatical or sentimental on sensitive issues. They should rather engage in healthy rivalry with the Muslims for overall development of the country.

I find it hard to belief this Islamization of a thing...
But recent Buhari soft comment on fulani herdmen give me concern and that is the only area i use to think he is bias.
God bless us in this country... Sentiments towards politics, ethnicity and religious is our major problem in this country.
And on that basis spliting is the only solution i can think of. Hatred and bigotery is too much in the land.

Please this is true.

The Islamization you are talking about will come from the European countries not the Arab wait and see.

If you think you people can defend your religion on all the atrocities committed and blame it on Islam you are a gooner

Come to think of it since how many years have you be thinking of Islamization agenda and the number of Churches in Nigeria is 200x more than the mosques in the country.

Since your crusade as a Christian you have not done anything to individuals than to milk them with your lies and brainwashed your congregation to sow seed. No achievement than to let your so called men of God to buy private jet.

When you here Sukuk you said Islamization
When you here Islamic Banking you said Islamization and your fellow Christians are the one registering in all these. When you here Buhari go to any Arab Nations you said Islamization and Jonathan goes to Israel as if that is where is country is.

And no one is forcing you people not have Christian Banking or Christian Bond.

Stop ranting nonsense and let us leave in peace.
If you don't know Islam is better you study it.

And don't ever bring this political talks about the old people here
