drhammed: Will mostly serve both purpose, issued as B1/B2 visa. Just only be careful (at the level of the CBP) to enter the US on B1 grounds the first time you will be using the visa.... |

abnot:Usually B1/B2 visa is given as one. If you go, check airbnb to stay cheap and rent a car from your country, I know for foreigners renting a car for a week or 2 it was cheap, about $100 a week (I didn't check the price for a long time, ask when buying the ticket). You arrive and the car is waiting for you at the airport, easy to move around and even see motels and cheap place to stay, also move around and go shopping. Don't forget your Drivers License. Renting the car in the states is more expensive and maybe they don't like your Drivers License or Credit Card. 1 Like |

123JohnF:Thanks for your contribution. I lived in East coast USA on a F1 visa for four years and have held multiple B visas so I don’t get what you’re driving at . East coast USA ain’t cheap. If his conference is taking place in Boston (for instance) he won’t find any $100 a week car rental . I don’t know where OP is planning to travel to. I’m only writing to notify OP of the cost implications of travelling to a city in the east coast on a small budget . |

abnot:I have friends and family who from ABROAD rent a car very cheap, not inside US and it's at Travelling Agency, buying the ticket and renting a car together. All foreigners do that, renting for 1-2 weeks and any place, any state staying at the motels cheap. If you know how it works, it works cheap for you. But a foreigner, tourist, trying to rent inside US, even usually can't rent, high insurance and foreign drivers license. Rent the car from your country, at Travel Agency or online, ask expedia or other online service, they offer Ticket+Car+Hotel. Here is a deal, sometimes you can get a very cheap price.

United States President, Donald Trump Adedayo Akinwale The United States Government has reeled out fresh condition for visa application, noting that nearly all applicants for the United States (US) visas will have to submit their social media details under newly adopted rules. The US Department of State gave the new regulation Saturday, saying people will have to submit social media names and five years’ worth of email addresses and phone numbers. When proposed last year, authorities estimated the proposal would affect 14.7 million people annually. Certain diplomatic and official visa applicants will be exempt from the stringent new measures. However, people travelling to the US to work or to study will have to hand over their information. “We are constantly working to find mechanisms to improve our screening processes to protect US citizens, while supporting legitimate travel to the United States,” the department reportedly said. Previously, only applicants who needed additional vetting – such as people who had been to parts of the world controlled by terrorist groups – would need to hand over this data. But now applicants will have to give up their account names on a list of social media platforms, and also volunteer the details of their accounts on any sites not listed. Anyone who lies about their social media use could face “serious immigration consequences”, according to the department. The Trump administration first proposed the rules in March 2018. At the time, the American Civil Liberties Union – a civil rights group – said there is “no evidence that such social media monitoring is effective or fair”, and said it would cause people to self-censor themselves online. US President Donald Trump made cracking down on immigration a key plank of his election campaign in 2016. He called for “extreme vetting” of immigrants before and during his time in office. On Friday, Trump vowed to impose gradually rising tariffs on Mexico unless the country curbed illegal immigration at the US southern border.

fkj950ax: The United States State Department has stated that applicants now have to submit their social media usernames when applying for a visa. BBC reports that the new regulations also require that people also submit five years’ worth of email addresses and phone numbers. This is part of the state department’s plan to ensure national security in the country. “National security is our top priority when adjudicating visa applications, and every prospective traveler and immigrant to the United States undergoes extensive security screening,” the department said via an initial proposal in 2018. “We are constantly working to find mechanisms to improve our screening processes to protect U.S. citizens, while supporting legitimate travel to the United State,” it said. This development came barely three weeks after the US Embassy in Nigeria announced the indefinite suspension of interview waivers for renewals, otherwise known as the “Dropbox” process. A statement on its website noted that applicants in seeking a nonimmigrant visa to the United States must apply online, and will be required to appear in-person at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or U.S. Consulate General in Lagos to submit their application for review. It added that Nigeria’s processing procedures are regularly reviewed in order to assess our ability to quickly, efficiently, and securely process visa applications. “The U.S. Mission is taking this step to provide more efficient customer service and promote legitimate travel, and will continue to facilitate applications of established travelers to the best of its ability”, it concluded.

I was denied visa today. Its like today was a day for refusals as only an old lady i saw that got the visa all others got denied. I have been to the us 3times and never faulted. Well USA would be on hold for now till further notice. The wahala is too much. We go through alot just to get visas. Well i blame the government though. Was so suprised that nigs can coordinate and behave themselves. Meanwhile i saw a lady that came out of her car, used an egg to surround her head n her children and threw it down before walking to the embassy . Hmmmm is this what Nigeria has deteriorated to? How did we get here? How 7 Likes |
