Anopheles:Lol, you can't just upload videos about smartphone on YouTube and start calling yourself YouTube techies', you're really showing your level of mediocrity. so iPhone Xs and Huawei p30pro camera is better than Samsung, common.. You are really funny, I have come to realize that arguing with you so called 'youtube techies' on nairaland doesn't do me any good cos you choose to believe what you want to believe.. Huawei only beat the s10plus in night shoot( and even the s10plus takes better night shoots with less noise with the recent upgrade, I bet you don't know what noise is) and 50x zoom that is not really needed in a phone except if you're a spy... The iPhone Xs?? Night shoots is awful, no wide-angle camera, no 4K video shoot, you want me to continue?? Only the pixel 3 makes a better opponent with Google's nearly perfect camera software, but it still doesn't better daylight photos with details like the s10plus even the 40mp in p30pro doesn't..phones are not judged by one factor alone but overall performance, and that's where Samsung takes the win, night shoots, dynamic range, detailed shoots e.t.c...but mediocre Nigerian YouTubers like you don't know, you praise the Huawei p30pro zoom capabilities as if you are buying a phone to serve as a periscope...and check professional smartphone photographers reviews, that will help you alot, not all the pictures you take and you start bluffing rubbish about them here when you literally no nothing...check certified websites like gsmarena, phonearena too, they will help you alot before you start claiming you are a phone reviewer. And you also claim some smartphone companies pays dxomark for their ranking, then indirectly you must be talking of Huawei. During the launching of p30pro, it was claimed that the phone can bring the moon to your disposal with the 50x lossless zoom, but it was recently discovered that the moon pictures was already coded with algorithms to automatically display the moon pictures when the camera is zoomed to snap the moon, and so you think you are really snapping the moon. How ridiculous?? You people really need to step up your game, and give praise to whom praise is deserved. Telling me iPhone Xs or Huawei p30pro camera is better than S10+?? Bullcrap!!! 3 Likes |

emmylad4: Bros. No be fight... If you've used any of the S10 or Pixel 3 like I have, then I'll consider your arguments fair but really you haven't used any so... Huawei only beat the s10plus in night shoot( and even the s10plus takes better night shoots with less noise with the recent upgrade, I bet you don't know what noise is) and 50x zoom that is not really needed in a phone except if you're a spy... Well firstly there's a low light scenario and the no light scenario. Both under the lowest f-stop will produce the well lit pictures. So, there's noise in both S10 and P30 pro but Huawei is better with or without the S10 update. Why? Because apart from the Huawei's camera software, P30 employs 2 features to make their low light pics look fantastic: The first one is the ability to hold long exposures at a slow shutter speed which S10 doesn't. The second is the super binning of their pixels to produce a stack array of superimposed images. Hence, why they go for the 40mps. Even Oneplus 7 pro on an average no light scene would produce more exposed pics than the S10. S10 may hold better details naturally but that defeats the purpose of the night shots especially since you don't use a tripod and studio lights The iPhone Xs?? Night shoots is awful, no wide-angle camera, no 4K video shoot, you want me to continue?? I didn't mention the iPhone Xs for the night shots. S10 is better there. Where iPhone Xs excels over the S10 is the video and portrait shots. iPhone Xs is the best video phone camera in the world and if you don't know that, then I can't help you. iPhone shoots 4k and I don't know where you read your balderdash from Only the pixel 3 makes a better opponent with Google's nearly perfect camera software, but it still doesn't better daylight photos with details like the s10plus even the 40mp in p30pro doesn't Think of it as categories: Dynamic Range, Details, Colour Science: Pixel 3 Video: iPhone Xs Portrait, Night Shots, Telephoto: P30 pro Wide angle: LG G8 Selfie: Pixel 3 Samsung Note 9 and S10 come in 2nd or 3rd in all these categories. If that's what makes it your best camera phone, then I wouldn't argue And you also claim some smartphone companies pays dxomark for their ranking, then indirectly you must be talking of Huawei. Don't misquote me. I said OEMs pay Dxomark for a review prior to launch. This helps with early fixes if the Dxomark score isn't favorable. It also helps to push the agenda and marketing. If you do believe in Dxomark so much, then I can say Honor 20 Pro >>> S10+ and Xiaomi Mi 9 >>> Samsung Galaxy Note 9 since Dxomark is the "Certified" professional photography website, agreed? PS: Never said I was a techie. I just know more stuff about cameras than you 1 Like |

Anopheles: So to you, iPhone has a 4k video recording front camera?? Or you don't use your front camera for video recording?? Infact, none the mentioned phone have it except the s10plus On what basis did you grade those categories?? Based on personal preference?? Based in internet surfing?? Based on YouTube videos?? Or based on your personal experience with the aforementioned smartphones, I better you haven't used more than two of them. Huawei p30pro have a dedicated sensor for night shoots which the s10plus does not, and I never said the s10plus takes best night shoots, I only said they were improved after the recent updates, so get your facts right. So to you, Huawei p30pro takes a better portrait than iPhone with the aggressive colour impairment on the p30pro?? And iPhone Xs has the best video shot in 2019?? Remember we're not in 2018, even Apple's fanboys can't attest to that. Ever wondered the function of depth sensor and time of flight (ToF) sensor on new flagships is used for? It's mainly for detailed and more accurate shots pixel 3 single lense camera doesn't snap pictures with more details like phones with dedicated ToF sensor or depth sensor found in p30pro and s10plus,.. I don't know on what basis you're saying the LG G8 has the best wide-angle, but I can't dispute that since each company have configurations for the wide angle camera.. Dynamic range should be between the iPhone Xs and s10plus...even the pixel 3 has a better night shot than p30pro, brighter image doesn't mean best.. Modified categories; Color science: pixel 3 Dynamic range: s10plus/ iPhone Xs Details: s10plus/p30pro Portrait: iPhone Xs Night shots and telephoto: Huawei p30pro Video recording: s10plus Wide angle: other brands except iPhone Xs Selfie: pixel 3 2 Likes |

emmylad4: Based on the fact that I've used and sold Pixel 3, iPhone Xs, LG G7 and S10. I can't say the same for you. I got an s10 for sale for 215k on my other moniker if you want it Huawei p30pro have a dedicated sensor for night shoots which the s10plus does not. Huawei p30pro takes a better portrait than iPhone with the aggressive colour impairment on the p30pro?? Lol. Where do you read all this gibberish? There's no dedicated night sensor for P30 pro. Huawei just changed their RGB pixels on Mate 20 pro to the yellow sub letting type. I already explained this on my previous post. Again, what does colour science have to do with portraits and bokeh? Ever wondered the function of depth sensor and time of flight (ToF) sensor on new flagships is used for? It's mainly for detailed and more accurate shots Lol. You are misinformed TOF sensors just basically use infrared lights to measure distance and depth. Hence, they map out a 3D image which helps in portrait and bokeh. TOF sensors don't provide more details, your main camera sensor does. TOF also relates this depth information back through AR, hence it still acts as software most of the time. Lastly, TOFs are low in resolution and can't relate enough info to the main camera for your supposed details. A phone with a narrower telephoto dedicated lens (P30 pro has the best in the business) at a fixed aperture will 100% of the time take better bokeh than one with the TOFs in the market. Again, a phone with higher pixels and larger sensor take more details. Add the magical software of p30 pro/pixel 3 and see why they're the best in bokeh and details. It's not far fetched And iPhone Xs has the best video shot in 2019?? Remember we're not in 2018, even Apple's fanboys can't attest to that. Lol. I will be using an 8MP selfie to be shooting 4k and that's why s10 is the best. Lmao. Rear cameras are where the video is... Let me say it again. You can go do your comparisons too. Apple iPhone Xs has the best video camera on a phone. PERIOD!!! Dynamic range should be between the iPhone Xs and s10plus...even the pixel 3 has a better night shot than p30pro, brighter image doesn't mean best Lol. You're funny No phone heaven, Earth, Asgard, etc has a better dynamic range than pixel 3. You need to use one before typing and that's your problem. Samsung S10 isn't a bad camera phone like we've drummed it out here. It's top 5 phone, arguably top 3 but NEVER top 2 Ciao... |

I like your write up but didn't enjoy the video presentation. Good you know yourself. Well done. Have watched some reviews where Huawei p30 pro was placed ahead of Google pixel 3 ,and at the same time vice versa in other reviews. I think the zooming capacity is the one edge over pixel or what do you think? |
Re: The Galaxy S10 Plus Review (How good is it?) by Stanley08(m): 10:20am On Jun 01, 2019 |
ayando: There are many cameras more flexible than the Pixel 3XL. S10 with the Ultra-wide, P30 Pro with the Zoom. But in terms of actual photo quality and processing algorithms. Nobody does it better than Google. Same scenario, no UltraWide, No 100 million times creep mode zoom. The Pixel 3 XL can't be beat. It's hard. I did see a review that said S10+ was better than the 3XL. But I have both phones and the S10 can't hold a torch close to it. Only just has better dynamic range. If photo quality is your thing in a smartphone, you just have to pick the Pixel. Pixels really don't do anything else fantastic. Just camera and fast updates. Speed/UI - OnePlus Screen - Samsung Battery - P30 Pro The Pixel is a better camera, than phone. |

Av always said dz abt samsung ...they don't try with der cameras at all ...its too bright and whiteish ...took pictures with my sis note9 of last year , and I was seriously disappointed...selfies was just bright, like I had to edit the picture to reduce d bright effect , thats y i pick iphone cameras above samsung cameras anyday ...samsung is excellent and all BT they always flop in der camera , it only tops in lowlight shots nd thats it ...am disappointed to hear s10plus camera too is bright , just like I feared...if samsung can use apples camera or google camera , then they would be the best phone company for more years to come |
Re: The Galaxy S10 Plus Review (How good is it?) by Stanley08(m): 1:01am On Jun 03, 2019 |
Boyco: Well said, I don't really rate iPhone cameras however, it's production is consistent across the board. It's hardly ever the best, but then it's hardly ever the worst. iPhones has consistent shooting experience. That said, GCam would do wonders to the S10's camera. 1 Like |

REVIEW BUILD QUALITY The design of the S10+ isn't exactly new, it's been around since the Galaxy S6. It has been refined over time and now it's great, overall build quality is good. 'Glass-slab' design i like to call it. Definitely feels very premium but then it's a glass build, so i always rely on good cases from the likes of 'Spigen' to keep it protected. I've dropped my phone once, the tough armor case from Spigen protected it well. The display is gorgeous, one of the brightest displays on the market if not the brightest at 1200 nits. Outdoor visibility is excellent. The taking point of that display however is the hole-punch. The cutout housing the front camera and depth sensor. It doesn't disturb me, even as it blocks out some parts of a video, but how much can you really miss out on? However, it may disturb some others as it's kinda 'odd' having a hole in your display. Well, two in the case of the S10+. The display is curved of course but that's not an advantage in terms of functionality. Infact when you aren't used to it, your palm area will register many accidental touches. I rather a flat display for efficiency, but that curved display sure is great to look at. Aesthetics. The device is waterproof, IP68 rated which means, yes! You can go for a swim with it, or wash it when it's dirty (Please don't) . PERFORMANCE The new Samsung skin on top of Android 'One UI' is great. Works very well, no lags, everything is smooth. I always felt like the Galaxy S9, Note 9 and the likes... Were good phone, great hardware bottlenecked by a mediocre software 'Touchwiz'. Now, One UI coupled with 8GB of RAM and the Exynos 9820, everything is a breeze. The Snapdragon version is a little bit faster, i have seen videos. However, that doesn't mean the Exynos one is a slouch in anyway. Everything is quick. Samsung did finally fixed their UI. THANK GOD! SOFTWARE Breaking One UI down, i love it's features. There are a handful of useful features which I think are worth a mention. 1. Night Mode: I mean, the way to look at any thing is in black or well, dark mode or well 'Night Mode'. Lol. This is the feature that makes the whole UI darker and this being an AMOLED display, blacks just look fantastic. And yh, you save some battery in the process. Darker colours save battery on AMOLED screens especially black. So, you want to use a dark wallpaper. They Thank you for reading, if you enjoyed this write-up. Please like and/or share this post. Be sure to watch the video also. Cheers! [/quote Well I'm going for the 12gb ram and 1tb on Amazon that should be better cause i think it's around 800k plus... Does it changes font like infinix and gionee? Pls op show me screenshot if it does |

Stanley08:I don't really think the bold still holds. No doubt on certain scenarios the Gcam take better photos than the stock camera on the s10 but most of the time I don't think so as I have the Gcam snapdragon port installed on my s10 yet I sometimes still get very dark pictures using the Gcam.... About what you said concerning the selfie cam on the s10, that's true. I really hate the selfie cam. |
Re: The Galaxy S10 Plus Review (How good is it?) by Stanley08(m): 9:46am On Jun 06, 2019 |
henryobinna: Lol. 2-3 months old GCam. With time. I tried GCam on S10e. I saw the difference it makes especially to the selfie cam. How is your selfie cam quality? Stock. I feel it's bad. Please tell me what you think. Try to compare to another mid-high end phone. I took a selfie with the OnePlus 3. Looked better than S10. |
Re: The Galaxy S10 Plus Review (How good is it?) by henryobinna(m): 10:45am On Jun 06, 2019 |
Stanley08:I never said Gcam made no (positive)difference, it did on certain scenarios but most of the time makes pictures darker, turning me to an ugly black boy my verdict is Gcam takes better pictures in a bright environment while Samsung stock cam takes better in darker environments... Note that I've not taken out to test out both camera apps properly, so these might change... the s10 selfie cam for me isn't very good, I was not well impressed. I don't have any recent high end smartphone with me only those of 2 years ago, so wouldn't fly here |
