OK guys who are Swift users, I need your honest advice. Which is preferable: Buying a used swiftsim for 5k, plus airtel 4g LTE modem compatible with the sim for 12k then swift promo data of 3k all for 20k OR brand new Swift nomad modem with 30gb for one month for 23k. |
Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by rookidmart: 4:35pm On Jun 01, 2019 |
cris83: The Swift Nomad (E5172s-920) only supports 4G band 7(2600) & 40(2300mHz) so you can only use it for MTN, Swift & Spectranet; while Airtel mifi (E5573Cs-609) supports 4G bands 3(1800mHz), and 40(2300mHz) so you can use it with Airtel, 9mobile, Ntel, Swift & spectranet. You should renegotiate the price of the SIM. I was able to get the SIM & the merit plan for the price you're getting the SIM. Also, make sure whoever is selling the sim to you changes the details in the SIM to yours so they can't reset password and leave the SIM useless, which is what a Nairalander (RebornHombre or so) did to me. If you're buying a SIM, I recommend buying from a Swift agent directly. In summary, I would recommend the first option, because you get to test the network in your area with it, and if it's not good enough, at least you can use the mifi with other networks. 1 Like |

generationz: I won't lie sha, I enjoyed Ntel on hen they started. Had a reserved number even before they opened for biz. When they started the network was sweet and u had to pay just ₦7500 then, they increased to 10k and ₦12500. Now with bad service they're charging people more, abeg I leg over 3 Likes |

saint2ace:Not even the 17500 own works? I guess the bad service is due to network overload. 17500 is a small sum for 24/7 unlimited . many Nigerians won't mind paging for it. They simply can't provide for all their customers Which is better though? Swift or spectranet What are their offers? 1 Like |

rookidmart: Thanks for the suggestion. I still went ahead and bought the sim from the guy @ least I paid 4k sha. Once I got it, I changed password, phone number, and email address so all my transactions are now being delivered to my email and phone. I got also the modem you suggested and it works well. I just sub for 3k swift promo to test the speed of download and 2-3mb/'s with just 3 service bars is not bad @ my end. Thanks bro 3 Likes |

samir101ng: Why testing with NY server? And yes. 5MB/s - 7MB/s very possible depending on where you stay |
Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by samir101ng(m): 8:30pm On Jun 04, 2019 |
Stanley08: I find that testing with a server based in the US gives a true reflection of the distance that a packet needs to travel in order to test the speed and latency. Using a locally based server in Abuja or Lagos is not gonna be accurate in my opinion as there is no major webserver based here that your connection will be downloading/uploading to. The screenshot is the speed I consistently get in my area. I guess the base station must have a fibre hardline to it. 5 Likes |

samir101ng: Hmmnn.... Never actually thought about it this way. But that makes sense. That said, knowing the MAXIMUM speed of your connection should be to a close by server tho 1 Like |

Fadajasi: Please where in Ikeja did you buy it? The ZTE MF920V should be suitable. Swift works on LTE Band 40, which the following modems also support: Huawei E5573s-606, Huawei E5573s-609 |
