INEC Received N1.47 Billion For Servers Ahead Of 2019 Election - Premium Times by Correctgist(f): 10:56pm On Jun 18, 2019
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) received N1.47 billion to replace and maintain computer servers for use during the 2019 general elections, PREMIUM TIMES has confirmed.

It is not clear though how the servers, which store computer data, were used during the polls. But the finding raises fresh concerns over the commission’s recent claim it had no server for the elections.

Determining whether the commission operated a central computer database that received election results has become central to the 2019 presidential election dispute, after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said results on the server proved he defeated President Muhammadu Buhari.

The electoral commission declared Mr Buhari winner of the February 16 election, but Mr Abubakar, his main challenger, has rejected the decision, saying his win was suppressed by INEC.

The electrocal commission, INEC, has disputed Mr Abubakar’s claims, and has denied transmitting election results electronically or saving them on a server.

PREMIUM TIMES has seen details of INEC’s budget for the 2019 elections, and the spending plan shows the electoral body collected from the federal government N1.47 billion for servers. The commission requested N2.27 billion.

It is not clear whether these servers were used for the elections , or whether election results were transmitted electronically. INEC insists it did not send results electronically to a server, but some ad hoc staff used during the polls have claimed they were instructed to send the results to a “central server”.

A spokesperson for the commission, Festus Okoye, told PREMIUM TIMES the budget for servers was made in anticipation that President Buhari would sign the amended Electoral Act to allow electronic transfer of voting results.

PREMIUM TIMES reported last August how the National Assembly Joint Committee on INEC approved N143.5 billion for INEC for the 2019 general election as requested by the president.
A breakdown of the budget for servers in the N143.5 billion is as follows:
1. N1.37 billion budgeted for nationwide replacement of servers for 25 states and National Data Centre.
2. N99.7 million budgeted for an upgrade of the server version of OpenVR for compatibility with new Dell server.
3. N157.5 million budgeted for the renewal and maintenance of cloud infrastructure.
Finally, now that the controversy that INEC planned & appropriate money for server in the 2019 electoral budget has been laid to rest, abeg it's still Illegal to transmit election results electronically oga Jega cum INEC?

Or is INEC simply telling Nigerians that its collected Nigerian money to carry out an illegally? No matter how long, truth always catch up with lies.Just imagine how these imbeciles have made Nigeria a sorry object of mockery.I'm laughing @ the stupidity of INEC, APC, Festus Keyamo and Attahiru Jega.

Abeg where are all the high graded zombies of this useless & irresponsible government? All running to nowhere as it's always difficult for liars to retrace their footsteps because they don't keep track of how much lies they have told.

Meanwhile,
https://www.thecable.ng/presiding-officers-we-transmitted-election-results-to-inec-server/amp

A civil society group, Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth and Advancement (YIAGA), said its observers saw polling officers ‘attempting’ to transmit results electronically in 65 per cent (961 of 1489) of polling units observed on the presidential Election Day

After the postponement of the election by a week, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa Ibom, Mike Igini, also said the commission made provisions for a central collation server.

“…The fact is that I am aware that at the polling unit, the same result is there, the duplicate has been given to the party agents and transmitted to the central server. Without talking to me, both of you have the result,” the official said during a Channels TV programme aired on February 18.

This 'server' issue came into being due to FAILURE SYNDROME which atiku & supporters are suffering from, where the losing entity clings at illusions and shadows in a futile hope that the impossible will happen and the situation will be reversed.

In a few months, it will all die down finally.

INEC deals with huge amounts of information and voter data across thousands of polling units in hundreds of local govts.
All these info are stored on servers.

What INEC is simply saying is that they don't have a server where voting results were transmitted electronically to during the elections.

And because atiku's petition rests SOLELY on the imaginary notion that such a server exists, that is why any one with a brain knows that atiku's petition was dead from the word go.

But as we know, Buhari did not sign the amended act, and the money in any case arrived late.(INEC did say their money arrived late yesterday).

Even if the money arrived on time, the Act was not signed, so as a result using a 'server' for the election would have been illegal according to the laws.

Again the report stated that the money was collected 'for servers'...it does not say which servers. What isn't in dispute is that there is a server containing the entire voter database...what is in dispute is whether there was a server for results.
