When I said we have another ogbeche in our new striker , I knew what I was saying.

You can’t come and score a wonder goal from nowhere and enter the team just like that.

Well , burundi is tough because they were determined not to lose their first game and our boys showed class.

Our next 2 games would be better but they need to know this is Africa where they would be running up and down and it’s a tough competition.

Pls guys stop blaming Mike Coz I don't see any crime he has committed, rather put the blame on the coach whose formation almost cost us the game.... playing players out of their normal position is very dangerous, if u must play 352 formation then every players must be in their rightful place, but I would have preferred he go for 433, with musa and igaloh in the starting line and then u will see what Mikel is capable of doing.... and Las Las he should Pls change that keeper that likes playing with ball like he's playing for Barcelona

Ignore those mumu who don't know anything about football other than complaining.

I could and would always try at improving to be better than the Ronaldos and Messis if it were my career path...

Am not surprised that mikel is saying this, his inclusion in afcon is a disaster to this young players,it do more harm and damages than good, the worst captain in the history of super eagle, for a foreign commentor to say, "mikel is not leading his team mates,a captain that played badly". The coach should always introduce him when the game has already been won, mikel never improve his game since 2005,a year before kanu retired,he's still playing beautiful football, the same as okocha and other previous captain, but this one is worst as a captain, his boring game has weaken his team mates and got them tired quickly, his presence on field reduces those guys performances ,only for his assistant(musa) to comes in and motivate the boys.
my brother, let's try and be patient some times.I undastand how it feels, but let's remember that the coach pointed out that this player's were sick and if it's so mikel will be most effected because of his age.
Let's not forget that in the world of football just like every other aspects in life we experience bad days in office.let's just give him more time.he is still very new in the team condidring he just made a return to the team after a long absence.

he was playing out of position....Mikel acts well when he is fielded as a defensive midfielder not directly behind the strikers....
Bro,
Ever since Mourinho converted Mikel to defensive midfield @Chelsea, Mikel has always seemed out of position when in the National team...

He has always been the cause of experimental formations just so he can be accommodated.

Out of sentiment he was dubbed to replace JayJay Okocha but he never stood up to that expectation till today.

Always lacked pace, good passing and tackling but lacked the spark to wear the iconic 10, not a goal scorer, average set piece ability, till today can't determine his best position.

You have never been a footballer...

Zero improvements since 2005, just lucky you are.

I really don't know any outstanding quality he possesses that qualifies him to be among the starting team talk more of being a captain? He should please retire from international football.

What makes you think he has not improve or is improving?

Improve better than the Ronaldos and Messi?
Who have been collecting World best in the last 8 years?
You think they are the only footballers, you can't expect someone to shine every time, those they play with are not kids.

Nigerians,we are really difficult peaple people.just one match and every one is blaming mikel aready already.we really need to undastand understand that football is really changing and their there is are no small teams any more.
We also forgot the fact that this these boys have been down with sickness as the coach rightly said.if that be the case then mikel will be more effected affected considering his age,but no one is looking at that aspect.
Some of us just watch watched only super eagles match.I watched the pharos pharaoh's match and mikel did better than m.salah,a guy who just won champions league and is in top form yet no one is bad mouth mouthing in him.we also forget that peaple people have bad days in some match.let's be patient with this guy.he has been humbly despite his money and fame.

I really don't understand why many are blaming Mikel. You all should blame the coach for playing him out of position. He plays 10, not 8. He should have played behind Etebo, and not the other way round. However, the coach still deserves some accolade for the substitution which pushed Iwobi back to midfield.

Iwobi should be starting from the midfield with etebo and Ndidi behind him.. Chukwueze and Musa in wing and ighalo up front.. I swear we will score goals and teams will be scared to attack us.

Easy on him bro
In the stead of criticism I would prefer you work harder so we can have you on the midfield and perhaps the captain of our eagles.

Taxpayers' money go into preparing these guys for the AFCON. They are not doing it for free. They should be criticized when they do a bad job. If you pay a mechanic to check your car, and he does a below par job, won't you complain?

As for your question, not everyone is a footballer. The fact that someone is not a footballer does not mean he can't criticize a footballer. I don't have to be a doctor to criticize a doctor who has failed to do the job he is paid handsomely to do.

I am not trying to judge Mikel's level of competency as I do believe that he is very talented but was destroyed by a lack of seriousness and ambition. This was a guy who was sought after by major clubs after the 2005 u20 world cup. He went to Chelsea and led a reckless life while Messi was busy building his own career. Today, we can see where Messi and Mikel stand as far as reputation is concerned.

In my opinion, Mikel should not even be in this team, not because of age or a lack of talent, but because of his obvious lack of commitment. Ahmed Musa should be captain.

Oga nobody is forcing Nigeria to go play football, if we can't afford the money then we better stay at home.

Your politicians have been stealing more task payers money how many times have you go out there to protest.

The people you played with are no f0ols, they didn't come to play.
Formation can bring out or keep a player for shinning, tnd opponent you're playing against with will come with a aim to keep one or two player at bay from doing their normal job.

Mikel obi played in his new club and many people, I mean those that understand football well apllualded him.
You say he is destroyed by lack of seriousness and ambition, really?
Have you heard of any coach complaining about him?
Just tell me, you said he is not serious, who were the first to arrive camp?
You said he is not ambitious tell me how many African footballers have achieved what he has achieved in football?

You keep saying Mikel is not in the team cos of lack of commitment, do you even know what commitment means?
I bet you don't.
