gamaliel9: Very impressive your depth of knowledge and contextual understanding. Players progress from lower league to higher leagues irrespective of the league. Belguim or Eredivisie it doesn't really matter. The operative word being PROGRESS. The context of my comments was KC leaving the EPL to the Belguim league that's not progress. That is effectively REGRESSION. So your comparison is completely irrelevant and totally unconnected. All the players you mentioned progressed from the lower league to a higher league and or club and or in that process. Not the other way round. So you have jumped on the prejudiced negative sentiment train because your deduction is baseless. Why ❓ just to join others with limited understanding and prejudice to make pointless deductions. I don’t know but maybe you have complex issues. 2 Likes |

The bolded is exactly why I mentioned Egypt. Remember the last time they hosted it, they won. That was 2006 I think and they weren't so spectacular too then. Just very disciplined tactically backed up by crazy home support. The Mo Salah factor also adds to it. Cameroun.... Believe me, whoever meets them in the round of 16 will not find it fun at all. Not even for an atto-second. The Defending Champs Cameroun can be a very frustrating side to play against. Ask Senegal who met them in 2017 in the Quarters and weere super favorites to win only to be frustrated and dragged into penalties and lost. darkelf: |

darkelf: You really can not ignore Egypt highly organised and very good team cohesion. Add home support factor and that makes them real contenders, if not favourites. 1 Like 1 Share |

TheSuperNerd: Then we must be prepared for penalties when we meet them (Cameroun). In fact, we must be prepared for the eventuality that smaller teams would want to drag the match till penalties 1 Like 1 Share |

Well, penalties are part of the game. So yes, I trust Rohr and the guys got that eventuality in view and practicing for just in case. darkelf: |

komekn: But what if we do. It can't be helped. There are 3 good North African sides in this tournament. Should they all make it to the quarter finals and we also do, the probability we would meet becomes almost 50%. |

comodo: I never expects onauchu to score any goal in that match because his positioning was poor.... you can't expect players to Give you the ball when you always position in between the defenders. ... nothing beats good positional awareness...same is working for Ighalo only that he is not too clinical and selfish also in front of goal..... I have watched oshimen play and I can tell he is clinical and also have good positioning sense. so let's give him 80-90 mins to prove his mantle 5 Likes |

Nigeria vs Madagascar: Gernot Rohr hints at Super Eagles XI Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has revealed what his lineup may look like against Madagascar in their last group game tomorrow. The German said he will certainly make changes in the match. This means that the likes of Victor Osimhen, Henry Onyekuru and John Ogu may have a taste of the game in Egypt. Nigeria has already booked a place in the round of 16 with a game to spare. ”I can say you can expect some changes because I want to put everybody under pressure to be concerned by the matches,” Rohr said at Saturday press conference. ”There is competition for each position now, even in the goalkeeper department, even in the central defense, even for the striker positions. ”We will see in the last training this evening which changes we can make. In the last match we had five changes and it’s possible that there will be changes in the match for tomorrow. On Madagascar, he said, ”I don’t believe that they are tired because they won the game and they are a team which is very fit. ”They have good staff, I know them. French people who are working very well, fitness coach, Nicolas Dupuis is a very good coach in France so they are really very fit. ”They have the experience to recover very quickly, and they started like us on the same day and tomorrow’s match is very open against this good team of Madagascar.” Culled from dailypost.ng 1 Like |

Hindsight Egyptians angry at SE, Falcons and Flying Eagles for the disgrace to Africa over bonuses. They use Mo Salah as example that he hasnt collected a dime from Egypt FA, but has built major roads and hospitals in his country, all without noise or media hype. Advise our Govt to sanitise our FA. And i agree, they mark every tournaments since i was born with rows over bonuses. I however go with the sanitizing aspect. The FA are swallowing cash in elephant style. The embarassment too must stop. Childish to me. 3 Likes |

Icon4s:wow, if we are eliminated before the semis then I think Rhor should go, and we've not always had great coaches or players within that period I know Eguavoen was the coach in 2006, Chukwu in 2004 if Rhor can't equal or do better then he has no business coaching the eagles |

jihday: the 2006 squad was the least experience ever and even the coach was a rockie.. but still they made 9 points from the group stage where we had teams like Zimbabwe and ghana and went all the way to the semi finals... the team eliminated tunisia the defending champions in the Qfinals.... bunch of the players were the 2005 WYC guys (siasia guys) mind you...the coach then Equaveon never gave one excuse... the world cup qualification he took over from Christian Chukwu after Chukwu suspension... Algeria 2 Nigeria 5 Nigeria 5 Zimbabwe 2 he effectively utilized makinwa and martins. apam, mikel, ayila yusuf, and lots more 3 Likes |

THIS Below, is a pick of some the best alumni/former players Stephen Odey's new club have had in recent times. He enters a club rich in developing and churning out top talents. Congrats Stephen Odey. See you in the Super Eagles soon. P.S: This is all part of the new era and dawn I have always spoken of coupled with the Super Eagles' steady evolution and rise of top quality youngsters that can turn into real deal talents. Even Valentine's move is coming at a great time as we look towards the 2020 Olympics. He is likely to pair Awaziem at CB for our Dream Team VII Eagles. Excelsior Super Eagles.... 5 Likes
