This car has been in the shop three times since I picked it.

First time was just after picking it up, when I had work done on the brake pads, exhaust leak, and calipers.

Second time was about a month ago. Freak accident. I have no idea how it happened. One of the rods holding the wheel to the chassis broke off. Left the wheel out of position (tilted at an angle), and was then running against the chassis. Made the car undriveable.

I think it may have happened when I banged into a pothole when travelling on the interstate.

It's not a replacement job, so it had to be fabricated and welded back in place. Picture below.

When that happened, the brake disc on that wheel was already warped, so I just had it changed. And I think I had another exhaust leak? Getting ridiculous, I know.

Total cost: 30k

Is the exhaust rusty?
Or did the hanger fall off too after the bump.

i’m looking at 2010-2013 S5, which has a V8 option. S4 of those years come with V6 only

True, true, a supercharged V6 IIRC.

Edit: I just checked. The S5 Sport back and Convertible has a 3.0 L supercharged V6 making about 330 HP. Same with the S4. Only the S5 Coupe has the 4.2L V8 making 350 HP.

All cars have similar performance numbers. 0-60, 1/4 miles, etc. Unless you're looking for a V8 specifically, I'm not sure why you'd be looking at the S5, since only the coupe comes in V8 form.

If I were you, I'd be looking at the S5 Sportback with the 330 HP SC V6. I've also not heard any major negative talk about that engine. Though I guess the 4.2L V8 is just more reliable since it's more tested.

I’m avoiding the V6 because of the supercharger, i’m thinking it’ll be more prone to problems than the naturally aspirated V8. Besides, put a V6 and a V8 side by side, i’ll almost always pick a the V8. Now my dilemma is the V8 only comes with either a 6 speed manual or 6 speed auto, the V6 comes with a 7 speed dual clutch automatic, i really love the idea of that 7 speed. There’s just so much to consider, i dont even know which car to focus on, i want them all . Hope i’m not derailing your thread.

Dude was carrying like 3 girls in the rear.I am not so sure if anyone was in front.
I saw him coming like a bullet from behind and I was in my C230k.
We were 3 in the car,clear roads and all...
I wanted to engage but for business reasons,guyman gats compose.
Nothing worse than showing people from work recklessness right?
The C300zoom past me laidat oo without a proper fight even though I knew he would win
But atleast I would have been pleased if I engaged

yes its a dual clutch, i might risk it because of how fast that transmission is. Even the 7 speed on a E350 is a joy to drive, imagine a 7 speed dual clutch on a sports car. I dont really mind the bodystyle, anyone goes for me. I just recently added the s5 to my list of options, g37s and s5 are the frontrunners E63s is still a long shot

Yeah, the 7-speed is definitely amazing. VAG has used it to great effect since the mid 2000's, I believe.

I have no idea. I've never gone under to take a look myself. The leaks happen around the same place, though, and I'm oreety sure it's because of the entrance to my house.

The entrance is elevated, so when reversing out, the bottom of the car always scrapes. And it scrapes in the same place that the leaks happen.

That's the only thing I can point at.

Yes, I believe. That part of the exhaust may also be rusted. Massachusetts roads are notorious for being very highly salted in winter.
