My observations 1. We started the game pretty well by pressing them which was why we could see their defense making errors, but we just couldn't capitalize and make them pay for it. 2. At a point in the game, it almost seemed like we were playing against a Brazilian team and before you could say anything we were 2 goals down. 3. Akpeyi is a standard of measurement already, other goalkeepers call use him as a reference point to measure their ineptitudes. He'd always remind us at least once in every 90 minute period why he's Akpeyi. 4. Our fullbacks faced superior wingers today and were found wanting on few occasions, nevertheless, they had an impressive outing. 5. Chukwueze's a gem, his introduction saw that we had 3 clear chances at goal and even a shot for himself that could have went in. he's been an impressive addition to the team so far. I don't miss Victor Moses. 6. Our match against Madagascar where musa had to control the ball then try rounding up the GK before he scores and yesterday when he controlled a pass before attempting a shot that was blocked, I've been watching Onyekuru for a while now and these are the kind of goals he scores, he picks his angle and bang!! 7. Ighalo proved me wrong, yesterday was his day. 8. I still want Rohr out, except the NFF would see reasons to appoint a better tactician to support him. 7 Likes 3 Shares |

Snapshot 1....... The moment the Cameroonians parked the bus, all our players pressed/moved upfront. The moment Omeruo passed the ball to Awaziem. Who drew two players? Snapshot 2...... The moment Awaziem received the ball from Omeruo. Notice all our players were running into the box to receive the cross. Chukwueze was left unmarked and was waiting to receive the pass(he was asking for the ball). Where were the two players he drew away for Awaziem to cross? Snapshot 3. The moment the LB tried to close up on Awaziem but he crossed the ball before he reached him. Snapshot 4. The moment we parked the bus after we equalised and stole the ball after we pressed with few players to score the winning goal. We should be more objective when analysing games. 9 Likes 1 Share

ChrisKels: I don't like where this discussion is heading. I am not about to see a Chuks vs Simon debate get escalated. Listen Chriskels and Forgiveness. I like both players.... Vs Guinea, I said Chukwueze will never put in the monstrous workrate Simon put in up and down that flank offensively and defensively. And offensively, Simon was well above average while he was excellent defensively. That is one. Vs Cameroun, Simon's workrate always tending more to the scale of excellence in defence more than in attack didn't augur well for us and was not going to get us over the line against the Indomitable lions. This is where Chuks trumps him. In being overly much more offensive and super threatening on the attack with the far higher tendency to make magic happen out of anything. Plus the fact that his threat is well known and will always make any coach double up on him thus altering the opponents' defensive structure at any given point in the game. In summary, Simon got the workrate and will provide better cover for your Full back than Chuks. But Chuks got the magic feet of crazy attacking intents and ability to create something outta nothing. He offers average or below average when it comes to covering your fullback. Going forward... I feel Chukwueze's attacking madness will take us further and get us out of holes much more comfortably than Simon's approach of more workrate in defence than creativity in attack. Now.... End this talk... I will tolerate no escalation of the matter. Both players are loved by me and I see their importance based on tactical set ups and team approaches and ultimately Team goals. This is what a rising golden generation should like like!!! The competition is great! We are the Super Eagles.... And we are still Africa's most unpredictable team. 8 Likes 3 Shares

EEGA: For real? Do you really belive he freed up Musa and Odion? How did he manage to do that? How many successful dribbles did he complete that caused Musa and Odion to be free? Odion tried to be in the box at all times, what does Chukwueze have to do with that? My last question, how could Chukwueze have freed up Musa who was operating on the opposite flank? How is that even possible judging by the geometry and size of a normal pitch? 3 Likes |

Humility017: Ighalo was on beast mode yesterday. Well deserved MOTM performance. But, can't help thinking he wasted a hat trick when he left a gaping open net to play the ball straight at Onana with the match 3-2. He costed Chukwueze an assist and himself, a hat trick. He needs to be more clinical. Such misses could yet again prove fatal like they did in 2018 World Cup against Russia. |

Starboytwo: Simon Moses was pants yesterday. Likewise Omeruo. Moses offerred nothing at all going forward, it meant that Cameroon full backs happily joined the attack to torment Nigeria full back on that wing, because they feared no threat from rigid, tepid and uninspiring Moses. Let's start calling a spade a spade. Omeruo was culpable in the Cameroon second goal. Awareness was zero and was always panicking around the eighteen yard box, nearly scored an own goal. People don't like telling themselves the truth, that's the problem of this place. If Nigeria continue playing Moses, they will lose to SA. Moses defensive play doesn't stop the team from conceding, yet he offers next to nothing attacking wise. Better unleash players who pose real attacking threat, best form of defense is always attack. Moses is the type of player you bring on to see off a game you are winning. He shouldn't be starting if you want goals, which win matches. 1 Like |
