Entry is key.

That is why to be on the safe side, just ask yourself, " what dividend yield will make me comfortable?". If that price gives you the "desired" dividend yield, buy at the price and below. You could even try and discount WHT from it to give you a lower entry price.

But in all, the aim is to keep collecting from the market whether it is good or bad grin

You ve said it ALL..Oga

Bear presence in the market seems to be a strategy to accommodate airtel new comer in ASI. grin, Investors never give up but keep on buying more monthly, as far as the companies result is sound, don't panic.
See these below listed stocks, they will make people super rich on or before final year result, which will happened in less than nine months.
1. Fidelity
2. FCMB
3. ACCESS
4. UBA
5. Zenith
6. GTB
7. Caverton
8. Ucap
9.Afripudent.
10. Dangote cement

If investors should have the mind of farmers. They planted healthy yam, and expect times two of what they planted, which result of their expectations always come to pass, even more than they expected. The healthy yam always die off on its process to produce times two of its initial one. Any new farmer that attempt to be checking his planted yam will loose hope on seeing his healthy planted yam decaying. Which is still the same with some investors on seen their stocks loosing weight grin

He might be pushed to dig it out and eat it up, if some part are still OK. But an experience farmer will keep on expanding his farm land by planting more during the planting period with full assurance that he will harvest times two of what he planted on a good soil/land.

Lesson number
1. Any yam planted on a good soil during the planting period always yield times two of its initial. In NSE, now is planting period and by January to March is the harvest period, up to April.

2. In farming, the planted crops dies off and successfully produced more than times two of its initial, while in NSE, the initial don't die off, but can only reduces during the planting period, and produces times two, if invested on sound fundamental stock, like those mentioned above.

3.Farmers planted in a good/fertile soil, and avoid those areas that underperformed. In NSE good/fertile soil are the sound fundamental stocks.

4. In farming the planted crops reward the owner, with new crops more than they one planted, in NSE, the invested capital reward the owner, with (a) Dividend payment (b) bonus share if giving and (c) capital appreciation.

The initial capital invested in 100% Mentioned stocks above can be fully recovered in 8 years and some 10/12 years, on dividend payment.

Sir 333, how much volume can you get or bailed out with those penny stocks. I remembered how i struggled to sell my FCMB early this year when the whole bids is not even up to half of my FCMB holdings then. I learnt a bitter lesson not to be too heavy on those penny stocks as bailing out may be difficult without depressing the price to almost 10% loss for the day.

If you wanna dump without seeing the corresponding shock in price, do so at the VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price). That is how professional traders do it.

. . .

I will compute the volume adjusted price for the above listed stocks between now and Sunday night using data from the weekly chart.

I will post the year 2019 support for the stocks.

Buy at or below the support level and hold the stock until it does (at least) 2 standard deviations above the support.

I just got metastocks installed on my computer.

It is simply the agglomeration of the net buy/sell volume done per period as a ratio of the total volume. The result is then re-adjusted to create a one - to -one mapping with the spread/range (high - low) of the stock.

Kindly note that SPREAD as used above is in consonance with its usage in VSA (Volume Spread Analysis) before some people will come for my head.

Let me try to help;

By my definition, the volume weighted average/adjusted price(WVAP for short) of a stock is an entry-exit trading tool used to estimate the average price of a stock, when benchmarked against its total trading volume.
The idea is to relate the average price of a coy over its cumulative volume but within an adjusted timeframe, with a view to spoting the best entry/exit target.
While it is not an end result in isolation, it can be a helpful tool, particularly for traders.(intraday trading)

One of the greatest advantage of using the VWAP is that it helps u know if ur overpaying or underpaying for a coy/asset.
Apart from given u a clue with when to buy/sell a coy, it can also help indicate the bearish or bullish stance of a coy, its sectoral view and by extension the mkt at large.
I also think its a much better technical tool to predict price direction than MA(moving averages)

Mathematically, VWAP= (Tp + V)/Cv
Where Tp is the typical price of a coy in a given trade day = mean/average of(day high + day low + closing price).
V= volume, while Cv= cumulative volume.

I would've given a rough computation of the VWAP for FCMB today, but i'll leave that for Sir meshpips to highlight. ...since he has a great and more effective tool(matastocks) for it.

NOTE: Even with all its merits, the VWAP like other trading tools should never be used in isolation.
Why?
By default, the VWAP usually resets back to 'nautral' with the opening of each trading day. ...so what(according to vwap) may have been a fantastic entry/exit today could turn out to be a lousy one tomorrow. Especially if the said security is fundamentally unhealthy or if there is a significant news that can impact the price either negatively or otherwise.
So it's ALWAYS best to season ones investment STRATEGY with the RIGHT MIX of a combination of diverse effective technical and fundamental analytical tools.

Salah.

@onegentleguy,

thanks so much for helping us shed more light on the subject matter.

Things to note:

1. The volume adjusted price I compute DO NOT reset at the close of each trading day. What I'm gonna be computing for them will be for year 2019 using OHLC + VOLUME data from the weekly time frame.

In essence, the findings will remain valid until the close of year 2019.

2. You correctly mentioned that one of the uses of VWAP is to help the investor/trader know whether or not he is over- paying /under-paying for the stock.

Since the Nigerian market is basically (technically) a buy only market , I will give them the LOWEST VWAP done thus far for the year 2019.

Buying at or below this LOWEST VWAP is certainly getting an excellent price for the stock.

Once time and space permits me, I will do the computation as promised and post here.

Enjoy your day everyone.
