There is one quality that naija team (that immensely helped them against Bafana Bafana) has that Algeria team lacks which the eliminated CIV team displayed this evening.

Can anyone here identity that quality.

People just feel the need to be pessimistic. Anything can happen in football but we can definitely beat anyone at this stage.
Most annoying part is that they say nothing until they watch our next opponent play and then rush in to shamelessly excrete their pessimism. How do such people live angry

nope far from it, that quality is typical of African football

This is how as an assistant coach( you can't even see it sef even if Na table soccer we de play) would tell his coach Abi.
My friend, you need to detoxify your bowels!

I would've loved to engage in a debate with you on this but since you've shown yourself incapable of holding civil and respectful discourse, I guess I'll just walk away.

Come back when you've learnt some manners. Then we can talk.

What exactly are these technicalities?

CIV created enough to beat them today.
Mahrez missed a goal in the opening half. A penalty was also missed in the second half. Those were chances that could have extended the lead. We will continue this conversation on Sunday night Sir.

Before the afcon started, I categorically stated that the super eagles and the Golden eaglets will be playing in the finals of the competitions they will be participating in. Algeria isn't going to stop us.

Algeria will play into our hands.

Quote me if we fail to do so.
Okay.

God bless you brother. I was about saying same until I read your comment. Some people fail to realize they can make their points without resorting to insults. Aren't we all entitled to our opinions? Or must we all share in the same optimism even when the odds aren't clearly in our favor?

grin Debate? On your roadside analysis track record or what?
Funny thing is this isn't an argument, i'm merely calling/pointing out the bogus onanism you left everywhere after SA v Egypt and using it to judge your present one

And if you weren't so high on emotions you'd have taken my advice in good faith and with a laugh. You should get wisdom & self control with manners then come back

Did CIV not create [even more] chances that could have laid the game? You're making it seem like its a one sided affair.
In fact none of the teams nullified the other's strength so why do you think ours will be nullified. You're not sharing the technicalities anymore?

Even before Algeria scored, CIV missed an open goal and hit the bar.

They had enough chances to take the game. Algeria were not better.

This is football. Anything can happen but I do not go into games with a pessimistic mindset. It is not as if we are playing Brazil.

That is very debatable, colonialism was inevitable because because we were there for the picking. No sentiments, USA expanded and decimated the native Americans, took lots of Mexican lands. With their doctrine of manifest destiny, they were gunning for the vast lands of Canada. That is why Canadians distrust america.
If you don't pick, you would be picked, that was the rule. The Zulus did theirs to other southern African tribes, the fulanis with the jihad, the Benin kingdom expanded on conquest bestowed their style of govt on others, the vikings destroyed coastal western Europe and installed themselves as kings of France and england, the Greek, Roman Babylonian, mongol, Indian mughals emperors turned India royalty islamic, the druids were wiped out in england etc, that is the rule of the game. People see colour in colonialism, I just see man's domination of his fellowman. Egyptians enslaved the hebrews, Rome enslaved the known world to achieve pax romana.

What we should ask is what made African tribes easy picking by all the western nations. Simple fact we could not match them...in trades, in weapons, in sophistication, in knowledge etc...we were f.cking underdeveloped simple

The point is not about the fact of enslavement but its effect as well as that of colonialism.

True. I wish I could share in your optimism. I've been all out for the Eagles but I guess this is the end of the road for them. I will be glad if they prove me wrong though.

we don't have that physical presence ... intact we re among the smallest among the teams that came to this competition , (Ghana is the shortest )...

what we have that is working for us is the winning mentality ... and u can't buy that from the market . forget the informed attacking line we have , if they fail to score the defence line will do it ... ask Omeruo and Ekong ..

we have the mentality already and it will hard to be taken away from us , cos we are fired up already .

Well a little history here lads.

In the Afcon qualifiers we lost the first match 2-0 to South Africa then drew the return leg 0-0 and when we met we beat them 2-1.
Now during the world cup qualifiers we beat Algeria in the first leg 3-1 and drew the return leg 1-1 grin grin that's a difference 1 goal for each team (compared to the SA results), now if history repeats itself like it has been repeating itself in this AFCON then that match will be 3-2 in favour of Algeria.

Also the last time we beat South Africa in an Afcon we ended up losing the next match on penalties(that was in 2000).

OK let me run away before people come for my head

Almost all nations have been colonized in their history, its nothing strange. The point is that we were underdeveloped before colonialism not that we were underdeveloped due to colonialism.
Without colonization we would most likely still be fighting kiriji and ekitiparapo types of war, while others are landing on the moon.
Beriberi, river blindness, abiku (sickle cell), diarrhoa, murdering of twins, smallpox (sopona) would still be killing us like fowls.

I'm tired of the blame game Africans keep playing. Africans are cowards. We have power but we use it in the opposite way because of greediness, useless pride and nepotism (religious and tribal). Something is wrong with the black man, and I've stated it earlier. The black man cannot aspire, lacks adventure and the will to invent. The black man is hopeless. When I look at our leaders, I see bunch of idiots that do not know they are making the black people look like bunch of animals. I wish I wasn't born in Africa, I don't deserve it, a lot of us don't. I didn't ask for it, and a lot of us didn't. If this will be the only question I'll ask God, it's why Africa?

Quite unfortunate you wrote that due to ignorance.

this AFCON is different , a lot of history has been re written ... And as it stands they have been OTEDOLA And Dangote has promised the boys another 75kusd per goal ... another Motivation just expect 3-1 or 4-1
