Please can someone elaborate more on the difference between taking IELTS and IELTS UKVI. As it stands now I'm confused about the one to book. Please candid explanation. Thanks.

IELTs will help you with NMC registration, but when you want to migrate u will need to take the UKVI IELts again for immigration purpose. If you've never taken the IELts before, then take the UKVI first so even if u don't meet the required mark, you can always use it for immigration later, while writing academic subsequently for NMC registration.

Please, I am trying to apply for an Associate degree program in US, and below is the requirements for people that don't hold a first degree already. ( I have a first degree in microbiology but its a 3rd class, so i want to use the route of non degree holder)

But I really need someone that understands better to clarify me, on the whole prerequisites stuff.

Is it that I need to find a school back him in Nigeria and register/write this courses then use it for my application? Or how??

Eligibility Requirements
Once the five (5) pre-requisites are completed, you may submit your application with the required documentation to the Nursing Administration Bldg T420.

Completion of the following SCIENCE PREREQUISITES with a combined G.P.A. of 2.5 with no grade less than "C" for each course and no more than one repetition for a substandard grade or withdrawal in any one of the 3 courses:

1.......I ICES currently is taking forever to assess people's credentials. If you can go through my old posts you would see the IQAS assessment . I cant remember but I used that and my midwifery to claim 2 or more certs and got my PR approved.

2.... I am not aware of such an exam as Pearson is still the company responsible for the RPN exam last time i checked.

3.......- your schools would send your transcripts.
- You would send a copy of your certificate with your
application package .
- NMCN would send the verification of your licenses.

Thank you so much for your useful and valuable posts.
Actually I am making enquiry for my wife....she has both RN and RM certificates.

Pls from your posts that I have read, it’s like you have a contact person at Nursing council that can assist and fast track to get the necessary documents. If so kindly assist, let me know how to contact you.

Thank you.

Pre requisites can be completed in the same school you are applying to or in any community college or university that offers the courses (within the USA). Its best to do them at the school which you want to attend so that you are sure it is transferable.

Meet a lawyer and have your WAEC cert or Print-out notarize and then buy the WAEC e-pin . Convert the CGFNS supplementary form, notarized WAEC and E-Pin into one pdf file and upload through the contact us page.

Just send your waec certificate to cgfns, they may even waive it for you. All they need is a proof that you attended High school. I only sent my certificate .

Hi, everyone.
Please for those who have done Visascreen through CGFNS, concerning the first requirement, proof of passing scores for NCLEX/ CP. How did you go about it. Thanks.

Just upload a scanned copy of it. They will accept it and may waive it if you have graduated 10 yrs ago.

When the BON sends them a verification of your license, you would have met that requirement.
So reach out to your BON in USA to send CGFNS verification of license. It was done free for texas BON.

No need to waste money notarizing the documents. Just your waec cert would suffice as someone rightly pointed out.

Am so happy this thread is still very much alive. Please I need your candid advice(s). Which route is the easiest for registering as a nurse and migrating, the UK or the US. Based on your experiences, how long does the process take or likely to take for either country? Tx

UK is easiest with a timeline of 6mths or less to 1yr. Depending on how quick you write your CBt and pass ielts.

USa would take you at least 18mths to 2yrs or more to complete the entire process from assessment to visa.

My advise is always go to the uk ist then complete your usa process from there.

I see, thanks for the advice. Do u have any reviewer for the UK cbt? Unlike nclex reviewer, can't find any ebook on the cbt. Do you know if the royal marsden is needed for review for the cbt?

Who has gone through the osce successfully please? For an unknown reason, the thought alone scares me hahaha. I heard it's difficult to pass if one isn't properly integrated into the uk Healthcare system before taking the exam? I also heard that once u pass the cbt, an employer can give u a letter of appointment, u can start work and sit for the osce later. Is this true please?
Thanks.

The OSCE is nothing to be scared of, as most of the times, your employer will arrange an OSCE training for you. Moreover, we were all nurses before coming to the UK, the OSCE is just a way to ensure that the UK standards are met!
And it's true that you can get a letter of employment after passing your CBT especially if you have your DL, which means you can be booked for OSCE soon after arrival. You will start working as a pre-registered nurse until you take the OSCE

Thanks for your prompt response! BTW what's DL? How long can one work as a pre-registered nurse? The osce can be taken anytime? No time frame? It's kinda expensive

The cost of OSCE is mostly covered by your employer. Most employers would want you to sit for the OSCE ASAP sometimes within 6mths of arrival.

My advice is for you to concentrate on passing your OSCE and not get carried away by the pre registeration position you occupy.
Always remember you arent a UK RN till you paddle your OSCE.

Oh great. Within 6 months sounds good really. Thanks for the information. After passing the cbt, how do I get an employer? Sorry for too many questions!
