then why didn't you rate the movie 100% since you loved it 100%

I meant I love everything about the movie, it doesn't necessarily warrant a 10/10 rating.

The final season of my favourite series Suits and the first season of its spin off Pearson have premiered.

What a time to be alive!

Thanks for this info. Didn't even know there'd be a spin-off. I'm so happy. cheesy

Jessica will have her own show in the spin off grin

No wonder they didn't bring her back last season. I'm skeptical about the spin-off, but since I'm a huge fan of Suits, I'll at least watch the full season of Pearson before deciding if it's worth it or not.
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Nobody: 11:23am On Jul 18, 2019
The spin off is themed differently from suits.
Should be fun.

Looking to atone for her past and reconnect with her estranged family, Jessica Pearson -- a recently disbarred powerhouse attorney -- leaves her New York City law firm for the down-and-dirty politics of the Windy City. Newly appointed as Chicago Mayor Bobby Novak's right-hand fixer, Jessica is quickly embroiled in a crooked and dangerous new world where every action has far-reaching consequences. With her compulsion to win, she is forced to reconcile her unstoppable drive with her desire to do the right thing -- two things very much at odds.

Suits ceased being interesting for me after season 3. The moment it veered off from it's original theme of Sex, Comedy, and Politics to mainly Politics was when I knew I gotta call it quits. I heard the writing has hit rock bottom level of ludicrous. Making Donna (a secretary) a full partner of a law firm is ludicrous writing through and through.

Perhaps I'll check out the spinoff since I've always liked the woman that played Pearson. I knew her from Alias, and I've also seen her in Matrix and Serenity. She was by far the best actor in Suits, and naturally, her absence has done the incompetent writers no favor. Pearson has the potential of being a hit provided they have another set of writers penning this one, and they allow her to act to her strengths. She was spectacular in Suits, and I imagine with a good script, she should be able to replicate her grit here. Class is permanent.

At the bolded, I sincerely don't know what you are talking about.

The series never lost it in my own opinion, character and plot progression is inevitable so you can't expect the series dynamics to remain stagnant and revolve around your sex, comedy and politics.

Infact IMO, the last two seasons were the best only bested by the pilot season.

Lolz. Character and plot development? If you call spinning around aimlessly and in circles, character and plot development, then you and the program deserve each other. Compared to the realism of Good Wife, Damages, and Good Fight, Suits would have been better served by continuing on the rails of comedy, instead of trying to be something it'll never be.

my problem with the show exactly, how Donna went from secretary to partner that didn't make any sense whatsoever. Should have ended like 3 seasons ago but we'll. undecided

2019 so far SHAFT has got to be the funniest movie out there. Sam Jackson killed it.

The writers have obviously ran out of ideas, but instead of ending it on a high note, they pressed on with ridiculous ideas.

I love everything about the movie but it's not enough to give it full rating. I love everything about Endgame but I still didn't give it 10/10. Let's agree to disagree at this point because we won't agree with each other.

Watch the series and see the reason she's made a co-partner. You stopped at the season 3 and without knowing the reason, judged the decision wrongly. BTW, Harvey saw the folly in making her a co-partner and removed her and made her a COO (Chief Operating Officer).

The series never lost its way. KoiceReloaded for one reason or other didn't find it interesting anymore which is normal.

The reason why the producers of that season had to end it, at least to me, was Mike and Rachel's departure. Even I missed them a lot. The writing was still good till they both left.

Making her a COO is even worse. She's practically the boss now.

I lost interest because the show lost what makes it interesting, and started taking itself serious, in a setting that directly contradicts it.

LOL. There's something called loyalty. Donna has been with the firm as long as Harvey. She's done a lot for the firm and even helped them win cases. She deserved an upgrade and even rival firms were trying to snatch her away. COO is the reward for long and reliable service to a firm she helped in her own way, stay relevant.

I'd have told you to watch the series to see if Donna deserved the position or not, but honestly, if I was tired of a series or movie, I wouldn't go back to it for any reason.

If the theme of the show had retained it's comedic element, I would have let a plot hiccup like this slide, but for a show that has chosen to go the serious route, I cannot let it go, and I've no choice but to judge it with real world scenerios.

That said, in the real world, there's no way in hell Donna would have made partner talk more of COO in a prestigious law firm, loyal or not. The best she will get is a pay rise, and a promotion to an executive secretary (boss of junior secretaries), that's it. Making her a COO is a big FU to junior partners and associates, you know, people that actually have law degrees.

The writers must have smoked an expired weed to spun something so outlandish and ridiculous in a show that has abandoned it's comedic premise.

The show was about Mike, he was the protagonist. For the fact that the showrunner continued it without him reeks of greed and desperation.

Finally got around watching The Godfather III and I must say that it's not as bad as fans condemn it, but it sure as hell deserves every condemnation it gets. They outrightly assassinated Michael Corleone's character, from the brooding, cold hearted, calculating bastard to Richard Roma of Glengarry Glen Rose. The only characters that stayed true to their I and II selves were Connie and Al neri, the additional cast weren't that committed to their roles and it was showing all over the place! angry

But all that aside, it was still a good movie, not great like it's predecessors, but good. The story was heartfelt, emotional, touching; and the score remains exceptional. Overall I will say it was an acceptable end to a great story, but it could have been great.

Unfair judgment. Mike and Rachel announced they're leaving midway into last two season. If the show runners ended everything that season, it'd make no sense as they'd have to rush things and end it stupidly.

So, ending it two seasons after, showed they tried to see if they'd keep satisfying the appetite of its fans but when they found out they couldn't, they had to end it. That's a wise decision. You just don't give up without a trial.

Vikings' major character was killed off, yet the series continued. It's not greediness to try and see if a show could still thrive after a major character leaves.

LOL. Let me tell you a real story.

In my department at my current place of work, the head of my department doesn't have the qualifications to merit the position, but yet he's heading our department. What happened? story had it that he read accountancy and was in the salary unit. But when he's made acting head of that unit, under two years, the owner realized he's making more money under my oga than under previous account department heads. It turned out that my oga stopped illegal siphoning of funds by past heads. He made sure every money was accounted for. The owner was impressed and made him the permanent head of account department. In almost 10 years of his reign, he's exemplary in his duty, making sure every money was accounted.

To reward him for loyalty, integrity and diligent work ethic, the owner made him the head of my department with a fat pay check. The owner didn't give a phuck about anyone's feelings. He's the piper and so he dictates the tune. If you don't like it, then you can quit.

That's what happened in Donna's case.
