Answered. Quoted.

bigwizzy001:
There's something I'm yet to understand properly o.
Assuming I'm single when I dived into the pool and get married after ITA/AOR, will my point be recalculated or not?

Stencil:
If you enter the pool as a single applicant and marry post AOR, your CRS won't be recalculated. Your spouse won't need to write IELTS or evaluate their degrees.
New placeholders would be created for their personal information after your inform CIC.
There will be a new POF requirement for 2 people, their medicals, PCC, marriage certificate ETC.

I hope this helps.

He needs to call WES to confirm if they've gotten the verification from the institution. He can get their number by clicking on the 'contact us' icon in his WES account. They're lines are open weekdays from 2pm Nigerian time. All the best.
Had same issue from a different university, had to call, mail Wes only to get a negative response that they haven’t received any mail. So I had my school resend the verification mail. It wasn’t acknowledged but my status changed from on hold to in process

He has done that already and they told him they haven't. Trust me, the calls don't give any desired results. It just keeps one in a back and forth loop between WES and the school, given my experience with UI PG schl. The fault is definitely with UNILAG, that's where assistance is needed.

Hi house, please I have a treasury bill running in stanbic bank to end in October. Now I have been told by Ontario provincial nominee to get a letter from my bank stating this money is easily accessible and can be liquidated. Now I don't think Stanbic gives such letter on treasury bills investments, but only their certificate, in that case what's the way out.
Thanks....
use the certificate, they are aware or t-bills

If you're yet to write the exam and get the scores right, this mentality is very dangerous. It puts fear in you and fosters a defeatist thought process. Focus on getting the modules scores right, if writing is the problem, seek assistance and constantly improve, because without it as the PA, ITA is far.

If you've written the exam and gotten it right, carry go with your theories. You're in a privileged position as far as this journey is concerned grin

I'm not sure. But given the large of people who have had to write several times 'cos of that component, I find it hard to believe that Nigerians are just poor in writing. And I'm beginning to believe in the conspiracy theory that people fail because IELTS is a revenue-spinning tool. undecided

WES sent Unilag verification on May 22nd but my contact in Unilag couldn't find it , I kept disturbing WES while I called Unilag contact almost on a daily basis but no result .

WES sent another verification to Unilag on 1st July , and I also requested for a paid courier . By 7th July my status changed to We Are Reviewing Your Documents. By 8th July , WES sent me a quote for PAID COURIER 85 CAD. So I quickly went online to contact them to discard the paid courier stuff . On getting online , my status has changed to Account Pending until payment is made.

Finally , on 13th July the payment request was cancelled and status changed to Reviewing Document then 14th We have received your documents.

So I couldn't say for sure if it was the 1st or 2nd verification that was responded to by Unilag.

The conspiracy is not true. In truth, Nigerians are poor in writing. What we give is what we get. I believe we can pin it on the fact that most test takers (generations trained on the Nigerian Policy of Education 2014 and earlier) never had creative writing as a component in their English studies. Even with English as a national language, Nigerians relate with English as a Second Language. Anybody with English as a First Language can spot it in our writing and speaking. If you pick any material used in training ESL pupils - Spanish and French students qualify as such - you'll see a lot of gaps in your knowledge of English. This is my perspective as a 3-year teacher of the British curriculum. I wrote IELTS twice only. Academic in 2017 and General Training this year, LRWS 9,8,7.5,7 and 9,9,8,7.5 respectively.

While people say there are hacks/templates for the exam, during my practice with IELTS study materials, I didn't see them. I simply saw it for what it was, an English test that a student with English as a First Language.would have no hassles attempting.

Honestly I used the certificate o..they just said I should get a letter from my bank confirming the funds can be easily liquidated and assessed by me.
I hope I can get such letter though, as I know Stanbic are reserved concerning letters with tbills. Thanks.

Please house.

Im really hesitant about applying for this stuff because im just discoraged that i would never meet up with even the 67 point score i keep seeing.

Heres my profile :

Bsc microbiology

2years work experience

28 years (female) /married

Im quite confindent i can perfom well in the IELTS considering that English has always been my A-course.

Will this profile even give a pass mark without my husband? Cuz hes not interested and i just want to pursue it myself.

I see people with masters etc ...

PNPs can be quite strict.

Confirm from Stanbic if they can give you the letter.

If you are not able to get the letter, you might need to liquidate and present the bank balance rather than risk a rejection.

Thanks a lot. Liquidation can be a last painful option, though will try all I can to get this from the bank or any letter.

Regards.

I belong to the later category. I'm sure you can sense frustration in my post, on behalf of people who are being hurt. Anyway, you do have a point there about anyone who wants to pass not thinking that way but it is what it is. God's speed to everyone still struggling with IELTS.

Thank you. Silversurfer1 I have assessed my Masters. I'll try and give IELTS last chance but it's indeed time consuming.

Please anyone that can guide me on IELTS writing should please contact me 07064399551.

Silversurfer1:

If you have not assessed your degree, assess your Masters which will give you the maximum 135 points. That should push your score over 400, then try and resit the IELTS exam. Create the profile after you've don't both
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by bankyh1905(m): 9:34am On Jul 20, 2019
I was in the same situation at some point. Even though I paid an extra $78, I later found out it was only to get my hard copy report to me through courier and not to fast-track sending the hard copy verification request. And WES still went ahead to ask me to pay an extra $85, which led loss of time by the time the request was removed.

I'll advise that you call WES again and hope that you'll get to talk to an agent who's experienced and empathetic enough to tell you what your status really is. Trust me, I've spoken to many agents to know that they don't all know their stuff.

I hope you resolve this soon. Best of luck.

PS: To minimize your call expenses, you should always subscribe to an international bundle before you call. It's 300 naira for 20mins with MTN. In my experience, that's enough.

Mariesio:

WES sent another verification to Unilag on 1st July , and I also requested for a paid courier . By 7th July my status changed to We Are Reviewing Your Documents. By 8th July , WES sent me a quote for PAID COURIER 85 CAD. So I quickly went online to contact them to discard the paid courier stuff . Finally , on 13th July the payment request was cancelled and status changed to Reviewing Document then 14th We have received your documents.

So I couldn't say for sure if it was the 1st or 2nd verification that was responded to by Unilag.

Go figure, you're a teacher! Anyway, you may be right. If that's the case, then our curriculum puts us at a disadvantage.

It is now worse with the advent of the internet and internet shorthand writings.I usually correct my siblings on this but they claim it's WhatsApp English forgetting that what one do regularly becomes a norm, hence the saying * Practise makes Perfect*

majority of canadians cannot score 7 in writing. Even in the uk where i once worked many of them cant get a 7. The ielts guys are not being truthful with the marking. We have seen remark change from 6.5 to 7.5 and 8. If not for our desperation to travel due to our failed country we should not be writing this exam
