Stop hating MCU for the tomfoolery of DCEU they are tons of good materials in DC catalogs that can rival and hold MCU in a kung fu grip, but the ret@rds at DCEU went to sleep and woke up with amnesia, making a whole Superman a laughing stock, The Justice League a gang of misfits that only come out in the dark.
Am a DC fan first but am no fool, MCU are streets ahead of DCEU - I guess they are lucky Stan Lee was around for so long.
street? Please light-years is more accurate. grin

The Marvel-Dc feud aside, you very on point as regards the movie been nothing more than pg-13. From the business/Economics POV and applying the theory of comparative cost advantage in relation to recouping of gains from investment, it would be so unwise of the universe to peg that movie at anything asides pg-13, going for R-rated is definitely going to spell doom for the flick at the box office.
shocked fantastic analysis.
What has DC PG-3000 gotten them? nothing!!!!!

Bear in mind that the Comparative cost boarders on opportunity cost. So R-rated & pg-13(Taking these 2 options as constants) are the two options, the economics/financial manager of every big movie studio considers before/during movie production, in relation to recouping of gains from investment in the box office. So basically, i'll exclude the cost parameters for production of R-rated & pg-13 movies as they may be equal, my emphasis is on breaking even & recouping of gains from investments. For Marvel movies, pg-13 movies has a high comparative investment returns advantage at the box office in comparison to R-rated flicks that has the opposite, thus, the universe will go for production of Pg-13 movies over R-rated movies.
For a layman's overview, in the production of a movie, am presented with two options, the best option for me would be to opt for the option that'll guarantee massive returns to my investment.
grin. AntiMCU is having headache now.
This L is too complex

Bro to be frank, am kinda skeptic of the individual success of each of the aforementioned movies. What sort of story are the planning on telling on all four movies. See, my theory is that its gonna be one good storyline split 4 ways so as to ensure continuity, so basically they'll use their ground breaking CGI & special effects to compensate for the lack of story in each individual movie. Movie goers might like it at first, but eventually, when they realise its all special effects &little or no substance that's might spell the end for James Cameron clean slate as regards the franchise. The franchise literally becomes Michael Bay's Transformers franchise. IMO, Avatar should be nothing more than a trilogy.

I'm sure James Cameron has it covered. It's to my understanding he has been sitting on this concept even before he shot Abyss, but couldn't pursue it because of technological limitations of that period. I'm willing to bet my right arm that the sequels will blow everyone's mind.

Lolz, funny you say, they better not try it, we(I) don't need another Deadpool. The Punisher: War Zone kinda violence, gory scenes & seriousness is actually what is best for that movie, IMO.
Deadpool is R-rated btw, but what makes it memorable is the humor, not the gritty stuff.

Just like water, we crave humor as a specie, we can never get enough of them. Humor is one aspect in literature, art and motion pictures that will always remain a constant. Humor in superhero movies is here to stay.

This is what happens when you use big grammar to explain simple things. You end up looking like you are talking nonsense.

Comparative cost advantage relates to countries or national economies and their abilities to produce certain goods or services at a lower cost.

You simply used the wrong terminology.

The point you are trying to make is simple- Pg13 movies have a wider audience than R18 movies therefore, it is more profitable to produce pg13 movies (assuming equal production costs)

There are two things that can negate the theory that pg13 movies are more profitable due to an wider audience-

1. The aforementioned production costs. A lower budget R18 movie could be more profitable than a high budget pg13 movie if the difference between their profits is smaller than the difference between their costs.

2. A highly rated r18 movie can do better than an average rated pg13 movie in the box office.

How does comparative advantage factor in here?

Marvel has a better chance of recouping their investments, and gaining a profit by specializing on a market friendly product than on a more niched variety. The comparative advantage here being Marvel picking P-13 films over R-rated films since the former is more financial viable aka very lucrative.

Cant blame the lead character, after watching this clip, it was disheartening to learn the lead character started learning martial arts at the age of 47, his performance can never match that of Donnie, Donnie Yen was already a master of even before IP Man (those Chun Li kicks in Iron Monkey shocked shocked shocked). So I feel they have to make the fight scene less complex for someone that has only started learning Kung Fu for only 2 years prior to shooting this movie. So I will agree with your take on this being a watered down version of Ip Man.

I guess Keanu Reeves is a fan of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon opera kind of fight scenes.

Whats The Name of The Shanghai _ staring Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson were Donnie Yen played the bad guy?

I'm just gonna pretend that you were civil and leave this here:

"Comparative advantage is when a country produces a good or service for a lower opportunity cost than other
countries."

For example, if Samsung earns $20 from TV and $10 from refrigerator production, the opportunity cost here is $10. Thus, if Samsung has to choose to specialize in a specific product, it will pick TV because it's more financially viable.

This is the last time I'll quote you btw, you've a distasteful personality.

For example. A company like Samsung can afford to produce Televisions and refrigerators. Since TV is a more lucrative market, the opportunity cost is the difference in the value lost from producing the refrigerators, rather than a TV. To simply, if Samsung earns $20 from TV and $10 from refrigerator, the opportunity cost here is $10. Thus If Samsung has to choose to specialize in a specific product, it will pick Samsung because it's more financially viable.

Says the smartass that answered a question wrongly. A question that nobody asked you.

Comparative advantage in economics has to do with countries and not individual company products.

Your personality is distasteful as well. Stop trying to act like you know it all. grin

Okay this makes more sense now..probably different casting from the first installment.

Hopefully they will switch Sam Worthington with someone that can actually act, but I want them to keep Zoe Saldana.
