durodee: It seem to be doing its job. Your AC is consuming that much which if you ask me is still okay. Unless you are using the inverter ACs that are power friendly 1 Like |

We use nails. We also have flash bar (you can get this from those guy selling building materials) to seal where there is an opening that will lead to leakage. After we finished installing the panels, we access the ceiling ie in-between the roof and ceiling, this area is always dark. So if you look at the roof from inside the ceiling, you will see holes or openings if there are any, then you can seal the roof with your flash bar from inside the ceiling too. The flash bar is attached. durodee: 4 Likes 1 Share

Kai ! did you say 1.5hp? you're lucky my guy wait till you see my shinco draws 1.4kw on full blast if not for my 5kw pv and 38,400wh ba3 bank @48v. I have been enjoying being off grid for some weeks now due to over zealousness of AEDC staff atleast my minimum over night voltage is 50v without AC. thanks to niyi recommendations of looping 10mm wire to aid balancers. As for the binatone. it's a great device. everything seems working well my dear. worry less. durodee: 1 Like |

Hello house. Can I run the following appliances on the Mercury 2kva/24v inverter? The microwave especially. (10-15mins daily). Microwave 20L - 700~1050w Washing machine - 550w Deep Freezer - 200w 55" AC LED TV - 150w 32" AC LED TV - 80w DC Home theater - 60w DC 22" LED TV - 25w DC Fan - 15w |

EnterPRO: yes you can. especially if you have 8 units of 12v 200ah battery or 19,200wh of battery energy storage, then you now ask yourself if the inverter can charge the batt bank 3 Likes 1 Share |

earthrealm: 8 batteries? Was thinking 200ah x 2 max. I have light for 10-12hrs daily and i won't be using all those items at the same time. Just 2 or 3 simultaneously. What setup do you advise please? For the microwave and freezer especially. Thanks. |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olaolu11(m): 7:56pm On Jul 23, 2019 |
Thanks. I appreciate your advise. I am thinking seriously about way out from advice given. quote author=ceaser post=80445047] Bro, your set up (900va inverter+150watts x 4 panels) may just be sufficient for your TV (if it's 32" LED or 32"LCD) and a few lighting points (LED lights), and yes sufficient during sun hours but not with the spent 100amps battery. Though the 200amps new battery may suffice for extended back up of 6 hours after sundown but in that case I will advice you up your panel sizes in order to adequately charge your new 200amp during sun hours else it risks failing early. Your LG TV will most likely have power saving mode and I will advice you adopt that (a 32" LCD LG at full blast consumes around 80 watts, 40 watts at power saver) You can get yourself a wattmeter to address the many "unsures" you have about the power ratings of your appliances. But I'll also add that you should plan towards replacing (either piecemeal or all at once) your gadgets to power saving ones. Needed to set aside a 10-yr-old functioning 106 litres 400 watts Thermocool freezer for a 110 litres 114 watts 72 hours off power freezing capacity variant and it is hooked conveniently to 150 watts x 4 panels and 600 watts (1200 watts surge) inverter. Also if you still intend to maintain that panel-SCC distance, then get cables with better gauges (those "join join" 3-core or 4 core pumping machine cables sold by our brothers are 2mm falsely rated 4mm and I realized that the day I saw the real 4 core in a solar shop). Doubling your pumping machine wires may work somewhat but not the best solution. If you are on national grid with fairly good online time, you can buy a 20amps standalone charger to help augment your 200amp battery juice when you eventually start using it.
|
If you can guarantee equal sunlight to all panels then my suggestion is that you get a controller with high voc (yes you imagine I will suggest mppsolar ) and then connect your panels in series, Get a armoured dual core 10mm to do your entire cabling, it's 1k per yard, cheaper for you since it's 2 in 1. PS: I am still an apprentice in this solar thing Sha o [/quote Connect in series? My inverter is 12volts. 3 panels in series will give 36volts 1 Like 1 Share |

How do I buy 78 feet dual core 10mm cable on a salary of 73K/monthly? The transformer in our area packed up about a month ago. The painful thing is the stupid thing did not pack up during election campaign when one money-miss-road politician or the other would have replaced it for us in other to garner votes. olatade: there is a 24v/50amp mmpt fangpusun charge controller 100Voc , sold by JUO for 60k or so...y not try it if u have a 24v setup, or spend upto 110k and get the 48v/60amp version that can handle 150Voc 2 Likes |

olatade: any that has equalization setting, fangpusun victron clone doesnt hv, so be ware. however if you grid supply is fair, and ur inverter has equalization capability, then u can use it to equalize, equalization is done every 1month or 2months, and prevents sulphation n stratification of the electrolyte 1 Like |

durodee: either the binatone avs inbuilt wattmeter isnt accurate, polystar do wayo and installed a smaller 1hp compressor inside , would suggest u try with another watt meter, or put a known load on the binatone avs n compare watt readings |
