I will be dropping this just incase there's someone else that's applying outside Nigeria. I applied for UK visa from Germany and it took exactly 15 days to get my passport back with a 6month visa stamp. I have been following this thread for quite a while now but I just couldn't get the specific information I needed. Here's a list of documents I sent. Invitation letter, BRP and reference letter from the person inviting me place of work. My study status certificate and a letter from my university ( though a friend told me the letter wasn't necessary) Balance certificate ( I was really scared of this because reading this thread and seeing people refused based on statement of account ish. And here I was applying with just a printout account balance) A cover letter ( I had to write this because I was worried about certain questions while filling the online form because I had a stopover in Heathrow this year and I got stamped in for 24hrs because I missed my flight and I had no visa) Job contract and 2 months payslip Residence permit, social and tax number Hotel reservation. Note: even though the website states that documents that are not in English have to be officially translated, there were some documents that were totally in German and I submitted then that way. In case anyone has any other specific question, please ask. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Braket: Oh awesome. Thanks for sharing your experience. Do you mind sharing a sample of your cover letter sir so I can draft mine as I intend to apply for a short term study visa this week. (israelimade102@gmail.com) that's my email. I would greatly appreciate! And is the heading of the letter "cover letter or introduction letter or intent letter or personal letter?" Or are these documents all different? Thanks Finally, like how much should one's account be reading or that of a sponsor if using one! This financial aspect is quite hmmmm.. easy, amen! |

Pls house, a little clarification is needed. I was refused Canada Visa for misinterpretation. I have learnt my lesson the hard way never to use agents for application. How does this affect my application for a UK Visa. Though I declared I was refused Canada visa in my application. |

EasyMoney007:I got a sample of the cover letter on the internet. We live in a different part of the world and the requirements aren't the same. Balance certificate is allowed in Germany, statement of account is necessary for application from Nigeria. |

And for someone who has his international passport stolen but he has not used it to travel before and no travelling experience on it. What should he tick in his application here? I applied for a short term study visa but when i got my passport back, the visa type read C-Visit. I assume it should say student. I've called UKVI and sent emails but the best response i've gotten is that they'll reply in 15 days which isn't good for me as my program starts in a week. Do i cancel my trip and my program and wait for them to verify if its the right one or not or do i carry on with my travel plans and present all application form showing the class i applied for when i arrive the uk? |

Awesome, thanks for this. But note that Primark is cheap(including quality of their products. They last weeks or a few months). However, Zara and H&M are affordable with much better quality. [q1uote author=Osemigho post=80690942]London visit had come and gone. Below are some lesson learnt. 1. Airbnb accommodation is a cheaper alternative to a hotel for people that are willing to cook. We, my girlfriend and I, spent about 100 pounds for six days feeding because we cooked daily. 2. For those willing to take a train from the Airport, insist on buying Oyster card at the airport. We could have saved about 24 pounds but a customer care rep. lied to us that we cannot get Oyster card at the airport. We bought train tickets there, only to see another stall selling Oyster card. We ended up buying that too for about 50 pounds each for a week trip around London. 3. Avoid the train if you have many pieces of luggage. Having to lift and move our pieces of baggage, luggage, etc was a nightmare. I tried to be a man, but even strangers had to help us sometimes. This was one of our worst but memorable experience upon entering London. We avoided it by taking a cab (about 50 pounds) to Heathrow airport during departure. 4. Primark seems to be a good place to shop. Compare to most of my experience in Canada, Primark offers low price products generally below 20 pounds. I think I bought some 3-pound shirt and female bags around 15 pounds. I will continue to update as it goes.[/quote] |
