Two things worrying the poster and others is 1. Fear.: you fear to let go of the penury money to find better thing. Two..we human being don't like to think out side the box..go and find private lessons and u will Get paid more than what the woman is paying you..but we all want to answer to a particular place of work.education is not bad..it only become a bondage if u think salary is the only thing education can offer u 13 Likes |

Hello Writer, I just laughed after reading your epistle because I once passed thru this phase of life. I was squatting with my sister in 2014 and teaching as well. But today, God changed my story for good... My advise to you is that you should keep pushing and never you forget God Almighty. Keep praying and ensure you pay your TITHE. Also, learn to sow dangerous seed and you will see things working for your favour. God bless you. 7 Likes |

mikkycoins:You're right... Ask bankers who have female bosses, it's same. Lots of women become "Wonsters" once they're in a position of power especially if they control your access to money or pay your salary...this is a known fact with very few exceptions and I have experience to back up my assertion. 10 Likes |

SirWhiteFish:. Private school owners are wicked people who use peoples talents to build their career and create wealth for themselves. They pay January salary in February February in March and so on.They treat workers like slaves and yet most of them will say they are running school ministry. Liars and hypocrites. May God open better way for all those working in private schools. Please bear up .Better ways ahead! 3 Likes |

Op... I share in your experience .. Some 7 years ago.. I was made to teach agriculture from. Js1 to ss3.. A subject I last learnt in 1997 to 99.i also taught commerce and Econs ss1 to ss3.. All for peanuts.. I worked just a month before resignation for a better job.. The thing is this.. Op... You need to show some urgency to leave that job by double your job application efforts.trust me.. You will get another Better job... If I want a new job.. I make getting a new job a job.. By dedicating at least 3 hrs a day surfing the internet. By the way.. Are you aware that... Persons who do kpom kpom work earn at least 1.5k to 3k daily?? Way more than those who teach.. Now... You don't have to do odd jobs for ever.. You do for a while to save up while you keep applying for other jobs. Any one that comes first.. Either you saved enough for a business or a better job comes. I did kpom kpom work with a contractor at gsk agbara... But If you see me.. I leave home dressing coporate and carry laptop brief like am going to office. After the job.. I clean up and head home. Packaging.. I worked in bakery... I worked in a nylon production company.. I worked in hotels.. Bro.. Believe me.. It just keeps getting better and every previous jobs leads to a better one.. On another note.. Employers or business men who carry religion on their head are the worst to work with or do business with.. Any one that works in the financial sector will confirm this.. In all... It will be well with you bro... But up your game... Resign and think outside the box.. Now.. A learning curve from my experience is this.. Any company that delays or owes salary or pays part is a red flag and a sign that you should start planning on your exit.. Cos it gets worse from there.. Peace. 29 Likes 3 Shares |

SirWhiteFish:Which state? If you are a graduate then don't go to all these mushroom private schools around, I know private schools can be mean but some of them come with good pay. My first salary as a teacher was #30,000, I do after school lesson for the pupils (not compulsory though) 5k for each child that participates, then I do one or two home lessons which is btw 25k - 30k, depending on the status of the parents ( if u work In oil company I charge 40k sef). I make close to 100k though I have quit teaching now. I still think it depends on the school you are teaching. I have male friends that have been teaching for more than 8 years, they make nothing less than 200k per month. Just look for a better school, once you are good parents will look for you to tutor their kids 17 Likes |

Op,have been in your shoes before. I took a drastic decision and left the school...I didn't even tell the proprietress that I was leaving. The following week, the woman called me severally but I ignored her calls. She sent staffs that know my house to come to beg me, but I declined and told me why I left. I cried my eyes out and determined I was never going back to that school. My brother we all have stories jare... My advice for you is to follow your mind and do what you thinks is best for you... keep your head up high, things will get better. 5 Likes |

I read through every word you wrote up there and can't help but feel your pain. I left a teaching in a very good and reputable school in abuja with 85k salary ( I make 2times that amt from extra lessons) about a year ago and have never regretted it. Teaching wastes ones time and you get tied down. Pls do resign.....it might be rough at first but it will be better eventually, never allow anybody to talk you down....know your self worth and keep pushing until u get that which you are looking for. No hustle is too small or not befitting your status quo so long as it pays your bills. Learn a skill or trade. God help you 4 Likes |

This is pathetic. I can relate. In such cases, experience has been gathered. Now move to the next level. If you have anyone in Abuja, I recommend you relocate to Abuja. Teaching in Abuja is bae. There are schools paying as high as 250K but still not worth it Sha. Sorry bro. 3 Likes |

Like those pips up there are advising let's learn a skill. I'm planning on learning how to repair computers and phones during this holiday. BTW, I'm also teaching in a private school in Makurdi. |

I laugh at all these stories....But really teachers are undervalued....I don't know if it's because my mom is a teacher or i just respect them but i think they ought to be in "The Top Three Highest Paid Profession" if not highest paid. 7 Likes |
