That's the biggest problem our players have. How on earth can such a young player turn down the opportunity to showcase his talent in a better league where he stands the chance to attract bigger clubs with better pay package?

Our players lack ambition and are just after the money. I believe the reason why he rejected the was maybe because Monaco offered him less money than what he gets from Everton and Galatasaray.

If I were to be Rohr this fool no go smell national team again sad

Onyekuru says he wants to remain in Galatasaray where he won the league and cup double last season.

Super Eagles star Henry Onyekuru has turned down a move to Monaco to remain with Galatasaray where he played last season on loan.

Onyekuru was a subject of an interest from Monaco who had agreed on a €15m deal with the forward’s parent club Everton.

Pulse Sports were told that the forward was set to undergo a medical ahead of the move to the French club but the 22-year-old has turned it down to remain with Galatasaray.

No young talented player with ambitions will turn down Monaco in favor of Galatasaray. If onyekuru scored 16 goals in the colors of Monaco last term as he did in Turkey bigger offers would have been on his table now from numerous clubs.

The agents that manages the affairs of our players are all selfish. If he moves to Monaco and perform as he did in Turkey last season his life will automatically change cus bigger teams will be sniffing around him with more juicy offers

Agreed but don't just blame the agents ,can't the players make decision for themselves?

An sure if onyekuru moves to Monaco rohr will have no excuse to bench him ,because you can see what happened to Samuel kalu when he joined Bordeaux

Exactly and playing in the French league will make him more popular because he is one player who I believe will shine in the Ligue 1.

Monaco is an attacking side and gives players freedom to express their selves on the pitch. He will score goals for fun if he joined them which will attract top clubs from the serie A, epl, Bundesliga and laliga.

Even psg will be tempted to get him by all cost.

Galatasaray is a massive club but onyekuru is way too talented to be plying his trade in the Turkish top flight. He will only gain the recognition due to him if he stars in a better league

A good case of study is Nicholas pepe. If he scored tons of goals in the colors of besiktas, gala or fenenbache last term as he did in lille no big team will take him serious.

The best move he would have got is to move to a mid table team in laliga, Bundesliga, epl or the French league

I think the guy is smoking glue. It's not like he'll be paying income tax in Monaco plus he can flex as much as he wants.
Play well for 2 seasons and you're in a super club earning big money.

Iheanacho, Ebuehi, Aribo, Ojo, Tomori Named In Nigerian Team Of The Week

With the 2019-2020 football season gradually getting into full swing, Nigerians abroad have started displaying their talents with their respective clubs and allnigeriasoccer.com will take a look at those who showed quite some spectacular glitz during the activities of last week in its Team Of The Week thus,
Goalkeeper

Suraj Ayeleso: Ayeleso put in a star turn between the sticks for Kano Pillars in their 4-3 penalty win over Niger Tornadoes the Aiteo Cup final on Sunday.

The CHAN Eagles goaltender saved a spot-kick in shootout to help his team to victory in the N25 million prize money game.

Defenders

Fikayo Tomori: Tomori has been one of Frank Lampard's trusted men at the rear during the course of Chelsea's preseason activities and started the 4-3 win over Reading last weekend.

The youngster is surely going to play some role for the Stamford Bridge outfit in the new season.

Michael Ihiekwe: His timed run to meet Ben Wiles' free-kick to smash a header against the upright and then reacting quickest to prod home the rebound for 2-1 against Leicester City gets him a spot here.

Even after his error header led to the opening goal, the former Liverpool man was influential in the stalemate.

Semi Ajayi: The Baggies new No. 6 went the distance in his debut game as West Brom were held to a scoreless draw against Bournemouth on Friday, with the defender earning the praise of his manager after a sterling showing.

Tyronne Ebuehi: On for Alex Grimaldo after 73 minutes of Benfica's 1-0 win over AC Milan last weekend, Ebuehi showcased his capabilities and Super Eagles fans will be pleased to see him back in action yet.

The youngster who missed out of the AFCON with the national team will be relishing his chance ahead of his first full season with the club.

Midfielders

Joe Aribo: Aribo has continued to showcase his talent for his new side, Rangers with a string of fine displays including netting a beauty in a 2-0 victory over Progres Niederkorn in an Europa League qualifier last Thursday. Deserves his place here by some stretch.

Sheyi Ojo: The Liverpool loanee has already scored twice in two games for his Scottish club and the latest being a brilliant opener in an Europa league 2-0 win versus Progres Niederkorn.

Quite a start to life with Rangers the 22-year-old's having.

Samuel Kalu: The Super Eagle headed home a consolatory effort for Bordeaux a minute after his introduction in a 3-1 loss to Galatasaray on Sunday.

Perhaps, Paulo Sousa would be tempted to have him star from the off more often?

Strikers

David Okereke: The new 'Aubameyang' is swiftly settling in his new surroundings in Brugges after netting a debut goal in Club Brugge's 3-1 win versus Waasland-Beveren.

The Dream Team VI striker is surely going to come good with his new side, right?

Victor Adeboyejo: On his debut game for Bristol Rovers on Saturday, the former Chelsea trialist was the hero, netting the solitary goal in a 1-0 win over Plymouth Argyle.

The Barnsley loanee needed just ten minutes to open his account!

Kelechi Iheanacho: Iheanacho is fast hitting the form which once made him a fan favourite with three goals in his last two games for the Foxes.

A brace against Rotherham United was the latest of his class acts and puts him in good stead ahead of the start of the EPL season.

Onyekuru has been an Everton player since 2017 although he has never played for the club and has been on loan at two clubs.

The 22-year-old is however about to find another permanent home in Monaco who have agreed on a deal with Everton to sign the Nigeria international.

Henry Onyekuru joined Everton in 2017 but never got to play for the club

According to sources, Onyekuru has agreed personal terms with Monaco and will sign a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 club.

Onyekuru joined Everton in 2017 after his breakout season in Belgium with Eupen where he scored 24 goals in all competition.

The forward however never got to play for Everton due to work permit issues and was sent out on loan back to Belgium to play for Anderlecht.

Henry Onyekuru spent a year on loan at Anderlecht
His loan stint at Anderlecht didn’t go as planned as a knee ligament injury in December 2017 ruled him out of season.

After recovering, he joined Turkish side Galasatary where he impressed, scoring 14 goals in 31 appearances to help his team to a league and cup double.

This is a new season bro and Monaco is still Monaco and they're not in the class of Galatasaray.
They sold almost all their key players going into that season where they finished so poorly. And they'll most likely pick up to where they belong in the league the Ligue one as an elite club. That's one of the reasons they went for Onykuru... This should be a precious opportunity and privilege to him but he rejected it.
