I was about the last person to complete verification and documentation for 7am batch on 11th and my name had been called in the Amphi Theatre several times before I got there.

My name was number 1 on the sheet the panel was using but I was interviewed last. By the time I was finishing, 9am people had come.

On a contrary view to that.
I wouldn't know if you paid attention to when/how you were assigned "panel number". Some printed papers were spread on their tables, containing your details, which i think your GT number or so, which made it possible for any of them to screen you and assign you a panel number. They must have been trained on how to allot panel numbers from your details and what is contained in those papers.
You got a panel number and left for the Amphitheater, there and then, they started calling lists of different panels.....if you observed well, those papers had been printed, maybe not even that day..... Remember, no details of yours was sent to anyone in the Amphitheater, but i think we had been grouped into the different panels according to our professions/courses of study.

That same list contained candidates for 7am, 9am, etc for same day....the reason they only called out the first six and even before your usher took you in, they(ushers) confirmed again your names and checked, by ticking against your name.....they return with same list to usher the next batch.

In a nut shell, all invitees for intervew had been allocated panels even before they were allocated panel numbers on their green folders. So, one can not be too sure to state how many were interviewed, your guess may not be completely correct too....I think only NNPC can.

But i can help some gurus here at mathematics,
If you can guess the number of candidates on each paper used to call out interviewees for each panel, then you can do your multiplication and addition.....it may be close to the answer (total number invited for interview ) not the total number of those interviewed. Because there are assumptions that not all that were invited went for the interview due to some reasons best known to them

I want to believe the list they had and read out at the amphitheater, contained names of all the applicants slated for that day without regards to timing. Cos the same thing happened when I was called to my panel. I discovered they had called our names repeatedly while undergoing document verification and immediately you indicate your presence, the HR guy will tick your name and move on.
Also, I was slated for 9am, but got interviewed around 2:04pm with about 3 guys left.
There were no new applicants for other times because we that were for 9am went there to meet 7am guys taking their turns and we had to wait patiently till it got to ours, one after the other.
So I believe the names were read out irrespective of time slots, reason why so many names (possibly 9am, 12:30pm guys) were unanswered and apparently absent, especially to those who were at the amphitheater by 7am.

The list was grouped based on time. I was the first 1:30pm and last person on the list, which ranged from 7am to 1:30pm. I interviewed before most 12noon guys in my panel cos I did my documentation quite earlier. I was even the first 1:30 to be called out from the amphitheatre while some 9 and 12noon guys were still sitting in the amphitheatre.

Let me tell you that, i may not accept the offer to the fact that, i am not impressed with the position i applied for. Currently, my position involves travelling with alowances which i am enjoying.

Nope. Someone was called several times and it was later discovered by one of the officials in the Amphitheatre that the person didn't even show up for the interview.

This is wrong, the names have been fixed before our arrival at the tower..
