Hello,Please I'm an undergraduate student in one of the Nigeria Universities and I got my two years student visa some weeks ago but the problem I'm now facing is that the statement of account of the person I use is not ready to sponsor me and when I contact those people I know over there I was told I can only come and work there in as much I don't have money for my tuition fees.
Please I really need your advice should I stay in Nigeria and continue my education or I should go.
I'm confused and I don't know what to do again I can't sleep for the past three weeks coz I really have a passion for my education

You never had a sponsor, like many here, you simply “borrowed” a statement of account to enable you get a visa. Basically you lied.

Best advice , stay in Nigeria and finish school with the passion you claim to have for education. Going to the US without a clear idea how you will fend for yourself is not a wise move. You’ll simply end up in worse trouble. Good luck.

Don’t bet on it. The consulate is not required to factor in your resumption date when on AP. H1B visa holders are known to spend up to 6 months or more on AP, and it doesn’t matter if your boss is a senator. Technically, being on AP is the same as a visa refusal. Hope for the best.

Because fellow Nigerians have forced them to have to question everything you submit. Blame yourselves, not them. At least they put you on AP rather than deny you outright.

Best thing to do - plan ahead next time. Factor in time on AP when you’re applying for a visa.

Don’t bet on it. The consulate is not required to factor in your resumption date when on AP. H1B visa holders are known to spend up to 6 months or more on AP, and it doesn’t matter if your boss is a senator. Technically, being on AP is the same as a visa refusal. Hope for the best.

I don’t like to bear bad news either but I see the misinformation peddled here too often. If you are on AP, you were technically refused a visa or considered ineligible for the visa under section 221g. You were not approved.

As noted, you are only permitted to request about the status of a 221g after 180 days of your visa interview or submission of requested information. Bottom line; plan well in advance.

Lol, Chicago is a war zone! I laughed in Spanish. That is the 3rd most populated city in USA. Almost every where in USA in a war zone, u can't never tell when shooting will happen. Did u hear what happened in El-paso and in Dayton during the last weekend? Security issue is a global issue so forget about what is happening in Chicago. Loyola University is one of the best school in Illinois along side De Paul University, northwestern University, Roosevelt University all in Chicago. I think they are private Universities. They are expensive and stingy in funding. If u are really interested in Chicago.u can check public Universities like University of Illinois at Chicago, Illinois institute of technology, University of Chicago......

I was approved the VO wished me the best and gave me the white paper saying congratulations blah blah blah, the VO said he was going to check the soa for fraud and tgat was it

lets be hopeful i got on AP today in abuja too and the way the woman talked and ended the interview its obvious its far from denial and she clearly stated the need to check the SOA for fraud she even told me about what to do at POE dont let anyone just come here like AP na today its just the closeness to the resumption date thats a bother its a really strenous bother but God is faithful as far as you are sure of your SOA

Exactly what I was trying to tell the person that said AP is as good as denial, we just have to be positive and stay calm one thing I know for sure is that the embassy is very aware of our resumption dates

Fellow Apiers instead of listening to some powerhouse of Negativity and apprentice of betterness, go about your daily business, hope and have faith that things will fall into place, Stay positive, gradually make preparations but like @lagosmyhome adviced don't buy tickets yet but you can make other non monetary preparations. someone status changed after 50 days: we all know schools will soon start off but the panic won't change anything, as for me I go to work doing my thing as usual,when I remember it I just smile and say Thank you Jesus.

Pls what do I need to do as class start Aug 26. Pls I need your suggestions house. Ejoor e help mi.

AP doesn't mean denial, it's a verification process, so, stay hopeful people...

I am not sure you did it correctly. Emergency request doesn't take more than 72hrs to get decision

I beg to disagree, everyone is put on Administrative processing after interview. I have personally watched the process. A day before Interview, it shows Application Received, after interview if you are approved, it does Administrative processing before turning to issued and then the person receives his/her passport days later. Some administrative processing last less than 24hrs before turning to issued (this applies to my case), some last for days, weeks, months. it all depends on applicant's cases and what the visa offer is checking/verifying. I guess you are referring to cases under 221(g)

Yep, if I remember clearly, @dumbiri99 told me point blank to forget it that I won't be given visa as a PhD must be fully funded. That was a really bad vibe lol, he doesn't even know what it takes to get here getting the funding I had.

Anyways, fast forward to today, God did it my people! Never let bad energy get at you! And yes, never spread bad energy too!
