gidgiddy: Civilized countries? In ''civilized countries'', protesters do not name their protests ''Revolution'', which means an attempt to topple the govt! If Sowore and his ilk had named their movement 'Yellow Vests' or similar, as happened in France recently, nobody would have disturbed them. I might add that he's even lucky, because in countries like CHINA he wouldn't even live to tell the story. If you wish to call China ''uncivilized'', that's your wahala. 1 Like |

stdammis: I find it strange that armed killer herdsmen who kill thousands of Nigerians each year are given Ruga by this government but if an unarmed Nnamdi Kanu who killed nobody waves Biafran flag in the East, he will get Python dance and be declared a terrorist I find it strange that Niger Delta Avengers will take up arms, kill people, blow up oil pipelines but this government will negotiate with them, but if unarmed Shiites protest for the release of their leader, and that protest becomes violent, they are declared terrorists I find it strange that despite the fact that Boko haram has killed hundreds of thousands of Nigerians and counting and has been proscribed, captured Boko haram members are routinely released and will never see the insides of a court room. But all Sowore needs to be arrested and dragged to court is uttering the word 'revolution' If this government is spooked, it's about the wrong things |

[quote author=koboko69 post=80907768]Revolution definition from 2 different dictionaries; 1. rev·o·lu·tion a forcible overthrow of a government or social order, in favor of a new system. synonyms: rebellion, revolt, insurrection, mutiny, uprising, riot, rioting, rising, insurgence, insurgency, coup, overthrow, seizure of power, regime change; 2. : a sudden, radical, or complete change a fundamental change in political organization especially : the overthrow or renunciation of one government or ruler and the substitution of another by the governed While I am strongly in support of freedom of speech and association, I really don't think any government in the world wouldn't act on organizers of a protest which have been widely publicised as a "REVOLUTION" protest. In my PERSONAL opinion, a better adjective or word should have been used for the so called protest. Occupy Nigeria is a good example The 2 face 1 million march which he later called off is another. Whats your take? This is coming on the heels of the purported arrest of Sowere. [/quote Which one is revolution? Those guys are being sponsored. They are social media guys under payment, however their eyes will clear by the time they declare state of emergency in Lagos and people start crying because they cannot go out to work and get their daily bread. Yoruba people v benefited more in this got than any other people. 1 Like |

Rosskiki: So the name people give their protest is what is important but not what the protest is really about? Civilised countries are not interested in the name protesters attach to their protest, they interested in if it is a peaceful protest or not. Revolution can mean many things and civilised countries dont jump to conclusions without facts |

gidgiddy: All these things you find strange shows that our leaders are cowards. They have continued to show their cowardness over and over again. See, I keep saying we are not ready. This our government solely rely on military forces to protect them, the same military that get poor treatments? Or the policemen that get chicken change as salary? That's why I said we can beat them at their game. They have no strategy for times like this other than forcefully having their ways. They dont have the support of the masses in Nigeria, the entire governing body is just a small percentage of the entire Nigeria. This case is like a single mopol police with a gun commanding 1000 civilians. The moment the civilians realized that theres just one of him, and a thousand of them, and that he cannot kill everyone is the day they become liberated. We are just not ready. |

WiLdFLame: You are always talking rubbiish and you have no one to tell you...Your myopic and senseless decision of electing an illiterate and incompetent bigoted cave-man called buhary is a legacy yorubas bequeathed to Nigeria in 2015.. You have no shame trying to drag Igbos for having the for-sight to reject buhari going by the atrocities being perpetuated in Nigeria together with a battered economy. Yes we hate Buhari and for reasons, too!! The horrible situation in Nigeria now which actually affects yorubas more adversely than Igbos vindicates us,but the wickedness and evil you yorubas have imbibed in your systems will not allow you see that. Only an ingrate will open their smelly mouths to ask why Igbos hate buhari at this point in the Nation's history...As a matter of facts,Igbos are applauded for rejecting buhari, while yorubas have been receiving knocks for their political greed and narrow-mindedness. What Igbos see sitting down, yorubas will never see standing on top of Mount Everest, that has been proven a million times over. Keep up with your foolishness as fulanis run you out of SW region into Atlantic Ocean.. |

gidgiddy:freedom of speech and democracy doesn't say u should plan a revolution(changing something by force, must, overthrow,) against ur government. Is revolution itself democracy? No democratic government will watch u come for a revolution.. is protest a speech or an act? That's the fact and laws....u can go on ur revolutionary March if u are bittered..... complaining here won't change a thing. |

U tagged it "revolution", no government cares whether u are armed or not. koboko69: You are minding the unexposed ignoramus who thinks freedom of speech is carte blanche to say what you want regardless of how offensive and harmful that is to others? Even in greater homes of democracy, freedom of speech cannot be abused by anyone to cause injury to others. In the UK, a young troll was jailed for racially mocking an African footballer, Fabrice Muamba, who had a heart attack on a football pitch. Only in Nigeria you get the biggest ignoramuses who make up the rules as they go along. Inciting the public to revolt against a democratically elected government is harmless freedom of speech to be ignored ba? Some of these guys are too unreasonable to even entertain. Better they have their own Country and space soonest. I bet they will tear themselves to shreds in there because they are anarchists who talk according to their mood, whims and caprices rather than a steadfast devotion to what is right and lawful today, tomorrow and in 100 years time. 1 Like |

honor4me: Indeed. They will call Buhari names but never give him credit for his democratic manner and exemplary tolerance. Nothing FFK and Fayose do not say against PMB yet Mr.President has the grace and tolerance to ignore them unlike even the leader of the supposed greatest democracy in the world, Donald Trump, who joins issues with every Tom, D.ick and Harry. Yet, it is a different ball game entirely when you cajole people to go into the Street to be clamouring for a 'revolution' to oust a democratically elected government. Especially when such is led by a supposed democrat who participated in the latest round of Presidential election himself and lost i.e Sowore. By all indications, we are dealing with a dangerous anarchist and sore loser who can create problems for Nigeria if things are allowed to snowball. Has Sowore even let Buhari put his cabinet in place before this madness he initiated? Was he ever a democrat considering he contested the Presidential election and will not even allow the elected President 6 months to work before he starts this idiocy? Why contest to be President? why not go for this option from the beginning? All his actions smack of attention-seeking, megalomania, self-servitude and hypocrisy the likes of Kanu. FFK, Fayose, Adeyanju et al are known for. Yet, no surprise his antics will mainly be supported by Igbos who are themselves anarchists and anti-Nigerian elements. Anything to crash "the Zoo". Most sensible adults, to include most Yorubas, conclude what Sowore is doing is wrong. I was his fan when he ran Saharareporters but I now see him as lawless, dangerous and entirely undemocratic. He is effectively calling for a revolution against the result and winner of an election he participated in and hoped to be the winner of. Everything points to the fact Sowore is a dangerous anarchist and deceptive Snake because he should have stuck to his Che Guevera approach from the start rather than contest the Nigerian Presidential election only to now appear to reject the result with this revolution antics. Why, during campaigning, did he not shout 'revolution' while travelling throughout Nigeria seeking votes? 1 Like |
