resilient in jumping on bus? nigerians always get it wrong, fixated on the wrong things. as a kid i was thoroughly house broken by my parents and boarding school. could do all chores etc. i looked down on some more privileged kids as lazy because they did not have any skill in ironing or folding clothes. meanwhile, my future inlaws r dad ran an it business that trained people in icsa. all of them were somehow involved in it. by the time we were out of uni, these kids all had ican, icsa etc. they could not clean house to save themselves, but those house cleaning skills did not matter. today all of them are well paid, high fliers in their industries while i can still do without househelp tongue tongue

if you are privileged,it should not be wasted teaching you irrelevant skills.mark zuckerbergs dad bought him a pc, not a mop.

You couldnt have said it better.

The time the so called hardworking kids spend in fecthing water, sweeping the compounds, washing clothes when technology could do all these things... Such child could spend the time in self development, learning a new language or musical instrument, or sports... While the hardworking ones of the less privileged brag on fetching water and sweeping .this is 2019 not 1950
As in.
I have to get a washing machine..
Almost every week I waste an hour washing clothes.
My kids will not use their hands to wash clothes.

It's good for your kids to know how to use hand wash clothes o. Just invade washing machine is faulty or the washer man or woman is ill. They won't be left stranded.

It's not suffering teaching them how to wash, it's part of home training Biko.

Cause think! If your wife cannot wash clothes with her hands, if these technologies is faulty, what will u do? Every day is not Christmas Bro

Don't you think your kids should also know how to gather fire wood, split it and set it up for cooking fire as part of home training? You need reorientation.

The men took it too far but come to think of it where is the comfort jumping from one bus to the other with two kids drinking hollandia with the hustle and bustle of Lagos . These little life lessons of being (prudent ,frugal, and allocating your resources properly ) goes a long way in a child’s life .

Lol nothing wrong in knowing how to use hands to wash clothes Oga.

No wonder men these days are yet to see a dutiful wives to marry. It's even in the Bible, a virtue woman using her hands to make her home warm and stable for the family.

I have a neighbor in my office building , because his wife does not know how to cook, she doesn't wash his shirts and boxers, he left in his home he built. And went to marry an igbo girl who pampers him, makes sure his food is ready before he's back from. Work. She makes sure his shirts are clean and ironed. He had been warning his Yoruba wife for many years to change and be a wife, but she thought he was joking because she gave birth to a son that looks a replica of him and two daughters. The husband change am for am, and went for an igbo girl.
A Yoruba man for that matter, he travelled to her home town in Imo, paid everything gher parents listed for him. He didn't care about the cost. He went with his elder brother and friends. Come and see the igbo girl family hailing him. Lol

He told me himself, if you see him now, looking so young and at peace. He's 55years married to a 32years old igbo girl as second wife and she works as a sales girl in one shop like that.
The first wife is there lonely, thinking of how have a man who will warm her life. Her husband is gone. He goes to check his building every weekend, on Sunday he's back to his second wife. The first wife is just his caretaker watching over his building. That's life.

Then I have another couple. The man is urhobo, delta state married to a Yoruba lady. One day she cried to me that her husband said shes no different from a prostitute. Why? I asked? She said because she didn't wash his clothes and shes not his slave. I shook. My head. I said babe! Assuming you are a delta woman, u wont be saying this. It is normal for a woman to wash her husband's clothes. Be with hand or washing machine. U don't work, u stay at home. He goes to work and he comes back no food, but u serve him bread and sardine at night, then his clothes are there not washed. But u washed yours. Babe lemme tell you the truth. That's bad.
Change, it's not slavery. You are a wife for Godsake. Anyways they are both cat and dogs in the house.

What's my own? Na dem sabi.

For me o, my kids must know how to wash with hands, very important.

Nigeria should be the only country people use poverty and suffering to brag.

Me: I remember when I was in Primary school, I trekked from Ijegun to Ikotun everyday.

*my friend will happily cut me short*

Friend: Mtcheew. That small thing? You done trek across 3MB before. To worsen it, I no chop that week o. Na only N50 been dey my pocket.

* He goes ahead to mention other really far point A-B, while I listen with envy* grin

Poverty done reset our head for this country. We see people doing well and we try to convince ourselves there must be something wrong with their lives. Isn't this witchcraft?

Look at DJ Cuppy, poor girl is always being attacked on SM. She can't even enjoy the money in peace. Now she is trying to chook herself into the street. Taking pictures in keke and market places.

Which kind wahala be this?
Ijegun to Ikotun? And you didn't enter for trekking completion at the Olympics? Serious something

If I Get Prepaid Meter Does That Mean You Will Have Electricity 24 7 ?
Does nepa strike if you have credit in your prepaid meter ? anyone please help me with the answer

No you won't have light 24\7, you will have light like everyone else but you won't be charged outrageously and NEPA will never come to your house to disconnect, if you want to travel you can off you meter and your recharged digits will remain intact
You will recharge your meter when it finishes when you want at your own pace just like you recharge your phone with no threat from nitel, if everyone in your street is using pre paid the probability of that street having constant light is very very high because NEPA know unless they give you light no single money for them

Hmmmm! Nonsense lapping.

That's how one "huncle" offered to help my aunt lapp me in a vehicle with my aunt sitting close in the same vehicle. Huncle tried some funny moves rolling his rod on my bom bom as young as I was.

I looked at him but didn't know how to express myself by explaining what was going on through out the journey to other people even my aunt until I decided to stand instead of sitting.
Though I didn't tell anyone why( so scared of my aunt then).

Those men don't have any right to tell the woman how to spend her money on her children.

lol. some people are just terrible. "prepare children for future hardship"...who made us this way? must we face hardship? should we even pray our children face hardships not to talk of preparing them for any? Chai! I'm dumbfounded. Some people who are supposed to be a bit comfortable sef will still want to inflict suffering on themselves and people surrounding them. Life isn't this hard, habbah!

Poverty has done a number on some people's brains Sha. So she should have used them to inconvenience others abi? Some people will pack children and start looking to strangers to place them on their laps. If you refuse now, they'll start carrying face, some will be cursing. If you can afford to sit comfortably with your kids in a public bus, don't hesitate to do so. Both your children and the strangers in the bus deserve their comfort.

I really frown at the bolded. People expect you to lap their kids and if you don't, they start reacting as if they brought the extra laps from their house
