I think there is a new trend especially for paper applicants from late june to July. This is because my son's (15 months old baby) medical has also been showing "we are reviewing your medical result" since July 31st...and a week later his eligibility started.. This is actually a visiting visa with upfront med submitted...So lets just wait and I know it will end with positive response.. Amen...

makano:
I hope u saw I gave 2 conditions in the post.. If u dnt believe in the village people stuff, then u should believe in the other condition.. From PART 12 TO 15..When something like that comes up, it means Medical request is very close.. Peace

I would advise you not to apply for visa with your present admission, considering the stipulated time for visa processing by CIC and your uncertainty about the availability of your course for spring intake.

My suggestion is that you put a call to the admission office of your proposed institution.

Thank you

Please what is your say on this too

Refused visa on 28th of June

Submitted documents
All cic documents
Birth certificates and that of my siblings
All funds related stuff of up to 41m(both fixed and gratuity for my dad)
Dad's letter of employment
Dad's promotion and reference letter from place of work
Dad's payslip
SOA
SOP/LOS
My Certificate and transcripts(schooled in turkey)
Acceptance letter and payment receipt
Tax clearance
Survey plan
Affidavit of sponsorship

Refused based on my current employment status(I am not employed, I am currently serving and I indicated it in the cic form as my current employment/activity)

Based on purpose of study (I guess that is generic because my SOP was hot and I made sure I try to convince the VO)

Based on personal financial status (I didn't include any of my personal financial statements or anything related to me financially)

I am thinking maybe because I indicated that I am serving hence why I was rejected, I have decided to finish my nysc and reapply, but I do not know what to put in the employment field when reapplying.

Good day everyone!
I am interested in applying for a postgraduate diploma in business administration. I will be finishing my HND next year. Now that I want to start arranging my documents for next year admission. I want to know if there chance I can get a student visa.

I have lived in Austria for 3years learning German and I have worked as chef in Mexican restaurant for 1.5years. Then came back to Nigeria to complete my hnd program. Is that a good Sop?

I really need someone who can put me through.
Thanks

There is every chance of getting an admission, you need to be articulate about your study/travel history and choosing a program that shows good progression with your previous studies. Look out for Graduate Certificate and Advanced diploma.

I am resuming at Seneca College (Seneca@york campus) in Toronto this September. I am in search of a Nigerian going to the Seneca@york or York University to rent a space with.

Please hit me up if you are searching for a space in this area or if you know anyone searching.

Did you do medicals before you applied?
If not then it’s definitely a technical issue with the site

Thank you so much for your reply!
Please can you plz explain more about what you've just said. Because I did not get fully what you mean.
I have been looking for schools with advanced diploma. But i did not fully understand it.
And I need an advice on which school is better to pay for?

Thanks

Good Day All,

Can someone please help me with a sample email to a prospective supervisor for acceptance into a course of study?

Can you help me compose a good letter that would catch their attention.

Course: Clinical Psychology (Doctor of Psychology)

First degree in Naija: Pure and Applied Psychology.

Naija thesis: Sexual Styles among Actors and Civil Servants

Prospective School: Memorial University

Thank you.

Secondly, anyone has idea of the GRE exams? Is it absolutely compulsory?

Thank you.

Thirdly, work permit issues. This is a 4-year doctorate so my family will accompany me. What is the difference between Student visa, Study Permit and Temporary Resident Permit? Are they issued separately? Will my spouse be permitted to work full time with either? Will my spouse be eligible to apply for PR even while I am still in school? Does my active Student visa, Study Permit or TRV prevent my spouse from applying for PR for the family?

Thank you, thank you very much.

Lastly,

Is N5m account balance and monthly income of N300k enough to obtain student visa, study permit or TRV.

Thank you!

Student Visa is the stamp.on your passport, study permit will be issued at the POE which serves as a legal document that allows you to study and work part time while TRV is still the same as student visa. All still falls under same category/meaning.

Your spouse will be issued a work permit which will be the same expiry date as your study visa, your spouse can work full time with her permit.

I came in with my spouse too, he landed his dream job 1 month after his arrival, which is a full time position (with work permit status) and we got our PR few months after I started schooling, which reduced my tuition fee from $8000 per term to $2000, he was the PA tho' so your status or your wife's status doesnt stop your from applying for your PR infact it's a plus for you because in most cases, the PR processing time is always faster for people who are already in canada, our application took just 2months. Start your processing immediately you land when you already know you meet the requirements because:

1. Election is coming up in October and there is high probability that the immigration policies might change/become strict which may affect so many people especially those that dont have a Canadian degree and again, the signs can be clearly seen from the recent CRS scores which refused to come down. (We saw this coming that was why we started immediately we landed, when life was still good, we got an ITA with a CRS score of 444).

2. You avoid paying too much for the health insurance coverage for your wife and children unless your wife is able to get a very good job.

3. It will also increase your wife's chances of getting a permanent job easily with a PR status.

If you are planning to come with your family, you will need to increase your SOA based on LICO ( low income cut off) you can check the cic website for further details which also depends on the size of your family. Try to increase the balance to avoid stories that touch.

Other gurus in the house will talk on the areas I left untouched kiss all the best!

So my spouse will get the work permit automatically, or we have to apply separately?

You will apply together and you will be given study visa while your wife will be given work permit. when filling your application (especially on the questionnaire), there is a space provided for you to fill your dependents who will be accompanying you to Canada. You need a very tight application with a convincing SOP to explain the reasons why you are having dependents accompanying you and an eye catching account balance. although, PhD students are always very lucky with their applications in most cases because they know your purpose of visit is genuine and you will return at the end of your study cos some PhD students do.
