Mune: Babangida did all these with oil price at about $15 dollars/ barrel and he never whined that oil price should have been higher. Compare that to Buhari who has done nothing! Yet, whines every day that $60 - $70 dollars per barrel oil price is too low for him! If IBB had not annulled June 12 election, he would have been the greatest Nigerian President ever! 1 Like |

Hmmn Babangida the Maradona, he tried very well assuming all our presidents continue with this kind achievements while in office may be we won't be in this mess we found ourselves but yet Babangida killed our economy infact he damaged our country through his Adjustment programm,we can never forgive him by anuuled 1993 election, Babangida and Obasanjo suppose to extricate Nigeria from poverty bcoz they have brain but they were so corrupt and greedy when they were in office, if these two president use their genius to favour our country we won't be in this state of comatose by now we would have being like Singapore but opposite is the word apart from these two presidents those remaining ones are dummy especially this current President hmmn I don't know how to describe him, did he know his left hand to his right hand? May be am not sure |
Re: Which Nigeria's Leader Can Match IBB's Records? Celebrating IBB At 78 by BluntBoy(m): 1:01pm On Aug 17, 2019 |
ChimaAdeoye: IBB was a dictator. He dictated and his orders were followed. You can't achieve that as a civilian president because there is division of power. And to crown it, IBB was there for 8 years. You can't compare military rule of 8 years to civilian rule of 8 years. The military ruler enjoys absolute power but the civilian president needs to share power with other arms of government which can slow down policy implementation. |

None. He declared corruption legal in the country; assassinated person with deferent opinion. Kill a whole generation of military men. Laughing and killing his friends include his best man. Take the country to unnecessary political crises among others. |

BluntBoy:see defending champion haha what is wrong with these Buharideen follower so you must defend everything and pretend as if all is OK and well, so if buhari have executive bill that can favour Nigerian House of Assembly won't pass it? Abi project that can benefit us legislatures will hold their hand that they should not embark on it, then USA, FRANCE AND UK Would not have move forward, O ma wa ga o, oro eyin people yii mawa sumi o, this same people castigating Jonathan then but now they have lost their senses |

F117nighthawk:Kindly debunk op or forever keep quiet please. That IBB annulled June 12 should not make you try and rubbish his achievements. IBB was a great leader. June 12 was a fraud. Abiola could not have won if the elections was free and fair. The obvious candidates were all disqualified leaving Abiola with hapless Tofa. Again, there was voter aparthy as a court already cancelled the polls courtesy of the obnoxious ABN. |

Otunba2004: Stop comparing countries because we practise a different style of government from them. The UK practise parliamentary system of government and the US practice true federalism where power is shared equally between the central government and the component units. Moreover, the passage of bills can be slow because of the size of our legislature and also because of corruption. Moreover, we are talking about military vs civilian here. If you check history, you will see that we got more benefits and lasting legacies from the military than from civilian governments. This is so because under military rule, there is no constitution to check the power of the ruler. And there is no Senate to slow down his policies. |

Otunba2004: The Structural Adjustment Programme was the creation of the World Bank and IMF. Most of the developing nations of that time implemented such including China. The sad part of it was that, none of the countries who adopted the SAP enjoyed it, and at the same time, you can't go against the IMF and World Bank due to the nature of the Politics associated with this neoliberal and colonial institutions. Let me tell you the truth, sometimes you need to be harsh and a dictator to set a country on a path of progress and will require time. This is one of the reasons why I think this liberal democracy is nothing but a nonsense that will never suit us |
Re: Which Nigeria's Leader Can Match IBB's Records? Celebrating IBB At 78 by Mune: 1:42pm On Aug 17, 2019 |
BluntBoy: And that's exactly the kind of system that will suit a country like ours. I don't think we are still matured to practice liberal democracy. We need an iron hand.. |
Re: Which Nigeria's Leader Can Match IBB's Records? Celebrating IBB At 78 by BluntBoy(m): 1:47pm On Aug 17, 2019 |

Re: Which Nigeria's Leader Can Match IBB's Records? Celebrating IBB At 78 by BluntBoy(m): 1:55pm On Aug 17, 2019 |
Mune: That has always been my argument. We need to change our political system. It is not working for us at all. We also need to reduce the size of our legislature, or we can make it wages per seating rather than monthly salary whether they sit or not. We are waiting too much money on government. |
