Hello Hun!

Why wont the judge give them 200k bail or 6months community service. When the ignoramus EFCC can't substantiate the reasons for apprehension of those guys and charging them to a court. No competent court in the world can convict those boys of this badly construed and lacklustre evidence gathering

Just mind your business and let the relevant jurisdiction carry out their judgments if you don’t feel pleased then be a prosecutor that way you can carry out your own judgment.

Agreed, the fine should be larger.

However,


Justice Oshodi also ordered the convicts to undertake a six-month community service in any General Hospital in Lagos.

The Hospital management was directed to submit a report on the service carried out by the convicts to the Ministry of Justice.

I can see that there is a bit of ignorance to the new Law that was signed by the president some few weeks ago. The National Correctional Service law seek to among other things change the prison system to a correctional service and thus any offence below 1 year carries a community service or a fine. So the judge is only following the Law

Governments are not arresting these people because they are doing scam. They are arrested because they are not paying tax. Why are they giving them 200k fine. Let me put this way, their income is not taxable

If you watch closely, you would have noticed that there has been a determined and consistent clampdown of "G boys" by EFCC in Nigeria even before the "famous 80" catch by the FBI.Most definitely there is a coordinated drive by both security outfits to tackle this menace.

My take: There will be a reduction in the "activities of the boys" as many will go underground.However,as long as our value system continues its downward trajectory,unemployemnet persist,corruption and greed alive,the security guys need to prepare for a long fight.

P.S crime does not pay.
