how about the good guys with guns?

I haven't heard how a good guy with gun prevented a mass shooting before

Ha! Another misinterpretation. Bit short sighted, isn't it?

Let's examine it this way; you hate guns but have had to settle in pro-gun state like Texas for work reasons. In every election day, native Texans troop out en masse to elect pro-gun Republicans, despite the prevailing mass shootings in the state. At a point, you gotta wonder at the lucidy of people living around you. Thus, the pity I felt for anti-gun people living in Texas. They are victims of warped culture and ideology.

My sincere condolence goes to the families of poor souls that died in a mass shooting, but if some of them leaned pro-gun, then they more or less had it coming. Adverse actions have consequences.

I'd rather rate this movie 4/10.

Aside from the "Adjudicator" whose accent, gait & command of english gives me an erection, the movie is not worth the hype.

They sent close to 500 guys (if not more) bearing arms after you - and none of them could put a bullet in your skull - even at close range?

There were even moments when some of his assailants had close shots of killing him with sword and they would suddenly pause and say: Mr. Wick, get up and let's start all over. grin

Why? Because actor no dey die! grin

This is just my opinion by the way.
This is your opinion. I've been following John Wick from the very first installment and I've come to understand that the reality which the movie is centered in is fantastical. JW is killing machine, sorrounded by myths which are in actuality, understated truths, as the Russian boss pointed out at the beginning of Chapter 2. What you pointed out is not an improbable reaction because Wick is a legend who has adoring fans. The fighters paused each time they had a kill chance because they are star struck fans who feel honoured to fight 'The Boogeyman'. Killing him was not their order, but weakening him so that their boss would move in and finish him off. The boss had earlier told him at the hotel that "John Wick will die by my sword and no one else's'', so the minions' main objective was to fight and bring him to his knees, not kill him. Wick knew this, which is why when he leveled them, he saluted them and left.

This third Chapter is super! cheesy

There are only 3 movies that have never been rivaled by any other movie I have ever seen.

1.) The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) - Jim Caviezel, Guy Pearce & Dagmara Domińczyk

2.) Saint (1997) - Val Kilmer & Elisabeth Shue

3.) Spy Game (2001) - Robert Redford & Brad Pitt

The only movie that came so close to matching these 3 movies was "Operation Red Sea (2018)". grin

I was pausing the movie to smoke a stick of cigarette every 20minutes or thereabout just to suppress my adrenalin rush - but for where? grin

Honestly, Hollywood is becoming more & more boring by the day.

This is just my opinion by the way.

That Operation Red Sea is one of my most reverred war movies to date. It's amongst my top 3 if not the best. It's a masterpiece, and surprising coming from the Chinese.

This right here. My sister and her husband moved to Dallas this year.

After sandy hook,it was clear that Americans are irredeemable. All their fking republicans have is thoughts and prayers. After the last shooting, their crazy deflection was video game violence.

I will say one thing though, even though Hollywood is liberal, they have their part in this. Movies and tv shows glorify guns. A lot of trigger happy ejits want to be like some armed movie star striding away from justified carnage with explosions in the background.

The use of Guns is made to look like a quick solution to issues.

The tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of patriots and other bs.

The irony is that if you really want gun control, bring back the black panthers. The sight of black men running around open carrying guns led to a lot of open Cary repeals back then, if I read correctly.

You forget the Chinese ( Hong kong) had a very very vibrant movie industry. And somehow, they seem to have absorbed them. When Hong Kong returned to China, their movie industry fled to the us. But today, they have assimilated. Jacky Chan is if I recall fully pro government. And they have the cash for proper productions.

Basically they are also playing the American game. Movies can be used to sell your army as good guy supermen.

2. Drugs, failed healthcare and mental care. When you have mad people and guns, chaos happens. The US healthcare system is driven by profits unlike the EU where it is government run and heavily regulated. The lack of regulations in the US leads to over prescription of certain mind bending drugs by doctors to patients. Drugs companies want to sell drugs by any means. Furthermore, mental health is expensive in the us compared to EU where healthcare is free

That’s the root cause of their opioid crisis. Ironically we are having the same problem in Nigeria. Drug companies are profiting off the northern codeine crisis, though in their case there is almost definitely some collaboration with criminals

Should be dubbed "The Aging of The Machines". Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and Schwarzenegger crylook old AF. I have a bad feeling about this. Anytime an R rated content exceeds $100m production cost, I ken instinctively we're in for loads of fancy VFX, weak plot lines, and little to no characterizations. It's a pattern that have reiterated itself more times than I can count. Don't wanna rain on anyone's parade, but I'ma call it right now, this movie is gonna suck balls in the BO, and suck even harder in the review boards.

cry cry cry

Terminator 2 is one of my all time best movies.
I consider James Cameron to be one of the greats even when he has to outsource like he did in Alita

But everyone I have asked is not stoked by this movie. Makes it feel like I am looking at it through nostalgic rose coloured glasses.

Oh well, November is not far away. This will be the redemption or the death of the franchise. It has a Sarah Connor chronicles vibe, and I loved that series . Fk fox for killing it.

This list geniunely warms my heart. DC have much grittier stuffs than Marvel, and thus should strive to thoroughly capitalize on these. Constraining their ardent themes to pretentious PG-13 grubs haven't accommodated them well since TDK trilogy.

Anticipating more R rated DC contents from WB.

If Joker becomes a smash success, financially and critically (which is expected, going by it's recent Screenings),expect DC to churn out more R rated content and grittier stuff.

They will mostly come off from Harley Quinzel stories with Gotham City Sirens and Joker Team ups.

In fact there is already a project for Dark Gritty and R rated Content with WB planning to launch DC black after probably Joker's success.
It will be separate from the DCeu continuity and like an elseworld universe like Joker. And the Intoxicating thing about it is that they would be Small budget flicks but we'll grounded storyline.

This way they don't need to bother much about box office earnings and audience reception that much and release unadulterated content.

And it gives us a good mix of Big Budget and Low budget films competing for Glory.

This movie gonna suck AF. I am even annoyed seeing the trailer sef. To me they are definitely loosing money af. No two ways about that.

Which studio is bringing this unwanted reboot?
Sony, Universal, Fox, Paramount? Cos to me this already a box office flop and critique fatality. The storyline gonna be MEH!!

MCU movies are not exactly emotive. They are comedies masquarading as superhero films. They will make you laugh, but will neither make you think nor reflect. They don't intellectually stimulate, at all. Humor is the central motif, and while it's not necessarily a bad thing, it often takes the bite out of an emotive premise. This is where a darker, more poignant, bleaker, and utterly depressing premise could work best.

I like MCU, but their films are shallow AF. I crave a dark and uncensored superhero film, and if DCEU should go that route, I'm all in... sign me up.

Shallow ? Sure , I can vividly remember every frame of Wonder woman , justice league with Aba made iron man, Aquaman , suicide squad , Bvs, .... Fun isn't something one considers when balancing the world , but watching Dead comics universe Minions gnash their teeth does put a smile on my face

Dark Phoenix

3 / 10

Disappointment abounds...

Firstly, Sophie Turner was just NOT it...! Overall the movie just seemed like one low budget skrep... From the terrible uniforms to the depressing lines... Found myself fast forwarding all through the movie... Almost the same feeling I experienced while watching Wonder Woman back then, only difference is this Dark Phoenix didn't make me want to pull out my eyes flush them down the toilet... That WW movie is something I can never unsee... Very traumatic experience

3 / 10 rating for Dark Phoenix

I swear. That shit scares me. The codeine- ization of the Northern youths is frightening. You think the Southerners here in Lagos are worse with their Agberos, just wait till u hear or see the North first hand, ur head go reboot straight.

Once I saw some vids and documentary by reporters I think from AiT about the topic. I think it was that particular programme that led to the ban of Codeine and it's like tramadol etc. Because it was after a week or so that ban came. After the BBC hogwash

Nonsense mixed with truths and half truths.

The mass shootings occur in America more than any other developed country for the following reasons;

1. Availability of guns and gun culture. Compared to Europe, getting guns in the US is easy. The gun culture as well is to blame. When people have guns, they will shoot. Some think they are in the wild wild west as cowboys. Even the police in America are trigger happy.

Furthermore, mental health is expensive in the us compared to EU where healthcare is free.

3. Overall stupidity of the average American. For a developed country, America ironically boasts of a very poor public school education system. Then there is the issue of stupidity caused by excessive christianity. There is a significant portion of the American populace that believes in guns. Bibles and guns. They see guns as a necessity. They have been brainwashed by a religion and an education that guns are a necessary part of life

4. Polarisation of the political system. Democrats vs Republicans. Christians vs gays and abortion clinics. Conservatives vs immigrants. Pro life vs pro choice. Obama was the antichrist and Trump is a Nazi. Hatred that leads to violence.
Agreed.
