Is that NUC standard for all Nigeria universities? 4point grading system is totally alien to university system only Polytechnic runs on 4points. One of the repercussions of 4point system may require that you have to do PGD even with your first class before you are able to go for a Master degree program in another University, the degree may suffer like HND/ degree discrepancy. The management should reverse their shallow minded decision ASAP as this is unnecessary and a time wastage on the students academic programs.

No as you think...getting an A in the 4 point Grading System is mostly from 80marks upwards...which I'm sire it's not so for the 5 point grading system

I like the kind of fear Unilorin has inculcated in their students. It reduced cultism and hooliganism to almost non existent.

I prefer it a glorified secondary school than it to be a tertiary institution with no peace of mind.

Actually a 4 point grading system will produce more first class....Infact it was dumped after being adopted by some universities

requirements into masters is a second class for both HND or degree.
as for PHd u just need a gp of 3.5.

The concepts and theories you learn from these Universities were discovered, developed, formulated abroad by foreigners, if we can copy those, why not their assessment methodology, after all we should be producing graduates that are globally relevant and competitive.

You have a point there but some schools are using the 4.0 cgpa grading system in Nigeria.

There is no pass grade anymore. Some schools use A,B,C,D n then F no E while some use 5,4,3,2 then 0 no 1.

Aluta continues students say they cant be wearing Agbada while there GP is wearing bum-short.

4 point grade system means .. E is fail, D= 1, C= 2, B= 3 A = 4 ... That means the students will have to read more harder this time.. Cos pass starts from 45 marks.
