I agree Frank got his sub's totally wrong and Gilmour did not do shit in dat midfield. I saw a comment here b4 kick off about no midfielder being on the bench, Barkley had no right starting dat game.. He would have been the fresh leg to introduce during the dying minutes of the game.

And batshuayi should never have been introduced in place of Giroud. With Giroud, the team can go long and he could hold up play perfectly.. Even batshuayi did not do anything in d game. The sub's were nothing to write home about.

That being said, I don't think Christensen's introduction would have stopped our midfield from being porous. The way Chelsea were playing, it was just a matter of time b4 dat defence cracked...

Youth. He is always the weakest link from that point but Lamps never subs him.

He showed some of that technique in Conte's first year when he ran our passing game from the defence. He done cast for footrace pace to play RB, but I have little doubt he can sit in front of defence and keep it tight.

When defending a lead, Mount and Jorginho should always be the first to get hooked for a situation like this.

Another option is shift Tomori to rightback and play Reece James as DM. He played half his games there for Wigan.

This would have made the defence stable compared to a direct swap in midfield with Kovacic. But it would have been against Lampard's philosophy though.
He probably has never worked with 3 centre backs on the pitch b4 in training..

There are times in football though that u need to throw ur philosophy to the mud in order to grind out a victory.
I just hope he learns from this.
