He did all that as a Military Head of State! You do nonsense to a military government and they reply you in kind.

But now, He is the Head of a Civilian Government and may not act as at when he was still on Khaki! some times those democractic bureaucratic nonense propagated by the Europeans can make a once strong military and decisive African leader looks indecisive in situation as being currently experienced

Narrate one action Buhari has taken when he was in khaki Pls just One I will put this right to you today it was Idiagbon who was running the govt then bro they both served with my dad and I'm telling you the truth Buhari as always be like these and I don't know why to be honest.

This is true. I remembered we all rejoiced on the streets when his demise was announced. A year later when I went to ilorin I realized ilorin people aren't too happy about lies on this great general. My colleague back then who is Tapan told me Yoruba people are lied. Now for the first time since 1996 i must say may the peace and blessings be upon Abacha and may Allah forgive his shortcomings.

Why did I say this?. Because if indeed Abacha's loots messed up the country, 23 yrs since his death was enough to rectify his wrong. But instead they continue to loot the country dry and there is no discipline and accountability.

I still remember Abacha's statement on his state of the union address, All Hands Must Be On Deck. Everybody sat tight. No nonesense even though economy was as it worse for only short period of time in 1995/96. Now that they have so called democracy economy is far worse for years since 1999.

Salute To The Great General

Abacha was a strong and decisive leader! and greatly demonized.

His actions and inactions seems to portray him as one lacking adequate mental capacity to intelligently process, understand situations and take appropriate actions. He is just not there!

Bro I must be honest with you I miss Abacha alot in situation like these. He has no chill for nonsense line these. Bro during Abacha others Africans feared Nigeria alot.

I remember what he told the f u cking Mandela then when Butelezi started this crap.

I remember how he dealt with Guinea Bissau for accepting Nigeria deporteee from Spain being send to Guinea Bissau.

I remember what he did to Cape Verde too when they mistreated Nigerians and deported them.

I remember how he ordered the blockage of the gas pipe when Senegal dares Nigeria the gas pipe was built by Nigeria govt then supplying Senegal gas.

I respect Abacha alot when it comes to defend Nigerians being mistreated outside but unfortunately all the clowns that rule after him are pooh a bloody sh**t infact the worst is this one called Buhari he is just useless with all his fake General in Army crap certificates and trainings infact I'm not even sure he actually got the rank by right way if Jonathan a bloody civilian can challenged South Africa during yellow fever card and put a stop to the sh**t and a General in Army is these dumb bro I doubt Buhari status alot.

I swear bro. That guy was rigid

Absolutely

As for looting, we've all witnessed how the useless democracy the irritant Nadeco asked for has led to worse looting and none of the benefits of democracy.

All past and current leaders under the umbrella of democracy have looted many times worse than Abacha did, with none of the security or economic prospects enjoyed during his time.

How many people could even recall that for most of his reign there were economic sanctions placed on Nigeria, which hardly anyone felt

Is it Stockholm syndrome that is affecting us?

No....we are a people in search of heroes, leaders that can stand in times like these and be counted as being brave and decisive,we are a people that are now the joke of the world and a people been hunted all over the world....we are a people that are looking for direction and would hold unto anyone that seems to know the way....painful we dont have any..no leader, so instead they had to look up to a person like Gen Abacha, dat is how sad it is. Dont blame Nigerians we are just searching for an hero...

He was 6 years old when Abacha died, so I doubt that his recollection is his. And it wasn't the South West media that killed Ken Saro Wiwa, Pa Alfred Rewane or Kudirat Abiola.

You mean the same South West that killed Abiola's victory and led to his incarceration?

Saro Wiwa was guilty of murder, or have you forgotten the four Ogoni chiefs he murdered?

How are the regimes of OBJ, Yaradua, GEJ, PMB better than Abacha's? We've worsening insecurity, looting, kidnapping, general brigandage, bloated civil service, heightened divisions, and lack of international respect.

I'd rather one Abacha than a million of the OBJs, PMB, GEJ, IBBs and all other acronym'd motherfuggers.

you are right about this. I have forgotten about sanctions. I remembered sanctions were placed on Nigeria. We didn't feel it like when it is placed on middle Eastern countries other than what they called "Abacha's stove". I swear, sanction makes no sense for the most part because the purpose is usually to punish a leader or figure but unfortunately it is the people they claim to fight for that actually pay the price. So it was sanctions that actually led to hardship in 95/96 not necessarily Abacha himself. Now I remember. Thanks for this reminder. I remembered this sanctions affected freight (Apapa worf, tin can island etc) because I had a family friend that was agent and he complained bitterly of hunger. So sanctions are meant to punish people not intended target. Abacha felt nothing. I am sorry we were fed wrong information about this man. I wish I can stand in the street of Lagos right now facing a large portrait or picture of this general and give him my salute. He did what he had to do.

Whatever went down btw him and MKO was politics. May Allah have mercy on both of them.

Now this kid probably never knew who Abacha was! He sure needs to be schooled. Most Shop Rite outlets are solely owned by Nigerians but operate under franchise. Now, who work at MTN, DSTv and the likes? Nigerians. Close them, Nigerians suffer.

This is a sensitive issue that should be treated delicately. The South African Ambassador has been summoned, and the Nigerian Ambassador in South Africa recalled. Skiibii would probably learn about this on his DSTv and still post crab online using MTN network while chewing at something bought from Shop rite.

And he thinks Cargo planes are meant to carry people?

I could remember nation's cup 1996, Nigeria was banned because Abacha took over the government, he gave all the super eagle players $20000 each and told them to enjoy themselves while the competition is still on.

[quoteit author=dimexy247 post=81911076]Hmmm!

Everything would have turned to a bloody war, he'd sent a strong message to everyone that Nigeria is not a country to mess with. He'd have sent to SA, the head of SA ambassador in a box. He'd have done so many unthinkable stuffs to S'Africans here.

The truth is Abacha may have been a dictator but he would have never been so quiet like one impostor we have now.[/quote]
It is not as easy as you think. A reasonable govt needs to calculate the cause, effect and consequence. Nigerians in South Africa are many compared to South Africans in Nigeria. They have advantage over Nigeria. The best at this juncture is dialogue.

If it was Abacha, you would either be in gulag or taken a bullet for the attacks and abuses you label as criticism under the banner of free speech.

If it was Abacha, he would likely protect South African Interest here for their government's support in order to remain in power.

Under Abacha, Armed robbers faced firing squads and failed bank tribunals.

It was Abacha that murdered the man that represents one of the strongest pillars of Nigeria's democracy under which you are able to rant now without any fears.

Just a few examples of what it would have been if it was Abacha.

If it was Abacha, even your letter writing daddy knows where he would be cooling off right now.

If it was Abacha, your present freedom of speech at the moment can only be assured from the safety of exile.
